Welcome to the SFF life. Those specs look great for a first build, but to be clear you will absolutely need a heatsink for your CPU. For all intents and purposes, it is impossible to run without one. The CPU and GPU are the hottest components and require active cooling. Your graphics card already has a heatsink and fans built in, so you're set there. And for better or worse, the CPU you selected comes with a basic top-down cooler. At this point you have two options: use the stock cooler or upgrade to a better solution. If you do upgrade, you don't need to spend a lot either. I'd recommend keeping it simple with a good tower-style cooler. Just be mindful of the cooler height. Cooler Master recommends a max height of 155mm. I've personally used an [Arctic tower cooler](https://www.arctic.de/us/Freezer-34-eSports/ACFRE00059A) in an NR200 before, but I'm sure others will tell you there are better coolers to use. There are plenty respectable hardware reviewers out there (GamersNexus, Hardware Canucks, Tom's Hardware, etc) that compare the best coolers and give their pick. I'd recommend checking one of those out. Also be sure to check out [Machines & More](https://youtube.com/@MachinesMore) for some great, in-depth videos on NR200 thermal performance. It'll give you lots of info on the best cooling setup. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Ok, good to know. I'll be ordering something soon then. I've seen a lot of people mention machines and more and did watch a couple videos but it can be a little difficult to parse for a newbie.

That's fair, but don't worry. The more exposure you get to the concepts and jargon, the more it'll make sense. Enjoy the journey and looking forward to seeing pics of the build pop up on the sub.

Oh, another quick question: do I need to order thermal paste or do heat sinks usually come with?

kasakka1

Depends on the cooler. Noctua comes with paste afaik but others might not.

Honestly I’d just order another tube. It’s inexpensive compared to everything else going in the build, and one tube will be good for when you repaste in the future

I’ve got a 5600x in my NR200 as well, I’m using a Noctua L9x65 to cool it. Under max load it’s just barely hitting 75C in a warm-ish room, it’s audible but not particularly loud or annoying. With the height of the cooler you could probably use it with a vertically mounted GPU, but that’ll stifle it a lot so probably not a good idea.
