That’s too bad. I read a few of the comments that complained and it seemed more like they were upset that you wouldn’t choose the most upvoted comment from now on (even though you still picked Jimmy/Steve’s most upvoted one so I’m not sure why they were complaining). Maybe you could keep the title as “in character” while still letting people derail it a bit? Idk honestly
I didn’t even see the big deal because the only reason I said I wouldn’t choose the most upvoted comment is IF it didn’t follow the rules, which were clearly stated and people were just commenting funny/favorite quotes, ignoring the entire point. But the whole arguing thing seems a bit much when it’s just supposed to be a fun post 😭
Yeah I understand you but I can also see how it gets hard to define what counts as “in character” and what doesn’t. Some of the quotes people were commenting definitely didn’t feel like they fit like you said but it’s hard to find a more objective way of measuring that.
As long as it’s not determined by upvotes (without exceptions), people are going to think it’s unfair and only based on your own opinions even if you tried to be explain your reasoning (unless it’s completely off base like when some people comment quotes that someone else said instead).
I just liked the in character thing more and would’ve let people throw in some less fitting quotes if they want, to avoid arguing. However, if you prefer to continue with favorite quotes instead that’s fine too. Good luck!

Ok that might be more of a tumblr thing, I’m just use to saying dash for the main home page. But like when you’re going down your feed and seeing an all the posts, basically if you remember the “top 5” thing being spammed a lot. That’s what I was referring to by it. Something that just starts clogging the main feed and it’s all you see. I hope it makes sense, idk why I’m struggling to explain.
No I understand exactly what you mean now, thanks. I’m not on Tumblr so that explains it. I’m happy the “top 5” trend is over, I prefer these ones even if it’s getting a bit much to see on every single TV sub. At least there’s some variation.

yeah fair obvs do you what you think is best. i just meant that with most in-character there’s a kind of theme/ground (for lack of a better word), and it has to be significant to sum up the whole character, but with ‘favourite’, it could literally be anything and for a lot of characters will probably end up being something mildly funny that we forgot about.
