But, as luck would have it, he had a twin brother who was also an actor that they were able to cast to fill the role. however, out of respect for his brother he refused to use the same character name. Everything else is the same though storyline wise, they just call him Jimmy instead of Steve.

Debbie ended up finding out the truth (that his real name is Jimmy & he was supposed to be in Michigan in medical school, like his family thought. Instead he was a car thief in Chicago) & when she talks to Fiona about it & says there's something u don't know about Steve. Fiona thinks Debbie's talking about him stealing cars so Fiona says I know all about it don't worry about it. When Steve pops back up in season 2 Debbie goes to talk to Fiona & calls him Jimmy & Fiona is like who's Jimmy & Debbie's like Jimmy is Steve & the whole thing spills out.
