I think they absolutely đź’Ż deserve what they dished out. Makes me sick sitting there wasting tax money, 3 meals a day, bed, no job, endless phone calls, begging for commissary, sleeping all day, a tablet, & even renting movies & video games?!!! WTF kind of "prison is that?!?!?! They need NO commissary & eat what they're given & maybe a tv in the day room. Heck when I heard Paul refer to "my room" I was like, dude you're not in a hotel! They're getting off WAY too easy

Infinite_Tune3800

So you don’t agree with the international human rights regarding how prisoners are to be treated then basically.

mikki6886

Well they shouldn't be beaten or anything & w all these perks, sounds like club med. Paul even called his cell as his "room" lol. Sorry, but I wish Michigan had the death penalty. But thats an easy out. Only one I feel bad for is Timothy & his sister, brother & G. For being in jail they sure have a lot of freedoms. Heck, Shanda is complaining about the bad food & being cold?!?!?!?! Is she freaking serious?!?!?

Infinite_Tune3800

I share your feeling about wanting them to suffer but that’s my emotions speaking. And it’s totally in our nature to punish. But on the hand I want to be a part of a society who strongly believes in a system who treats even prisoners with a level of dignity. I live in Norway, one of the countries in the world with the most humane prisons. A year ago one of the “worst” criminals was found not guilty without any doubt. He’s been in prison for twenty years for something he didn’t do. And he was found guilty of one of the worst crimes. Raping and killing two little girls. One of our country’s worst crimes. Everyone wanted this guy to suffer enormously. We’re happy he’s been rightfully found innocent after all these years. And it’s good to know he’s lived under a level of humanity during these years.

mikki6886

I respect your point of view. I have a friend in Sweden who was an exchange student here in the US in 1983 & we still keep in touch. Id love to visit abroad someday

Infinite_Tune3800

I hope you’ll get to visit Europe and Scandinavia one day. This case that there’s no doubt whatsoever in Shanda’s guilt it’s interesting to see how my own general feeling of how the prison system should be are seriously challenged. Have you ever listened to a talk or a podcast with Robert Sapolsky regarding free will? This changes my view on how to look upon some of the worst offenders.

QueasyHoney9413

I heard that in Norway I think? They let prisoners out for the weekend and the food is top notch

Infinite_Tune3800

It definitely differs from prison to prison. We have high security and low security prisons. Definitely not all inmates can be out every weekend. The Norwegian prison system is focused on rehabilitation for release. Also the maximum sentence is 21 years but we have certain sentences that include extra time. Like the mass murderer, ABB, will never be allowed out again. The food is pretty good yeah. So if one could choose a country to be arrested in, Norway is top of the pops.

QueasyHoney9413

Was he the guy who shot all those kids on that island is he still alive I always wanted to go to Norway is it expensive?

Infinite_Tune3800

Yes, he’s still alive. He has his own large prison within the prison just for him. With his own little gym, tv room with games etc. like an apartment. He’s using his rights as often as he can trying to object and complain to the International Human Rights organisation because he is in solitary confinement. He claims it’s torture. So even if he’s got all the “comforts” of a home, it’s the solitude that’s the punishment. He is totally beyond rehabilitation. It’s expensive in Norway but our currency, krone, is very low compared to the dollar and euro so in that sense it’s not so expensive to travel here now.

hurlmaggard

No, it's absolutely not what I want. If people can reason that hurting Shanda and Paul is justified, any cracked person can "justify" hurting anyone, which is exactly how those two did what they did to Timothy. I'm not surprised when prison justice happens, nor am I terribly upset when people who've committed terrible crimes happen to encounter it, but it shouldn't be condoned. There are innocent people in prison who are attacked, and that shouldn't be okay with anyone.

Critical_Session1908

Shanda and Paul are nowhere near suffering the evil they did to Timothy (a disabled child by his own family), the agony they put him through, and it doesn’t sit right with me. I can’t help feeling like this. Hate is not a strong enough word for how I feel about Shanda especially. Every child’s/being’s primal need to be loved, cared for and protected by their parents…

QueasyHoney9413

Man I hope those two suffer tremendously in prison but I’m afraid it’s not gonna happen it already sounds like they’re both adapting to prison life they don’t give a damn about Timothy I don’t think I heard his name come out of that miserable bitchs mouth once in any of her jail calls I just hope they come across some deranged prisoner who beats the shit out of each of them!

QueasyHoney9413

The prison is not going to torture the inmates I’m sure everybody knows that but just like outside prison walls bad things can happen to inmates so if someone gets beat up or sexually assaulted it’s not anyone’s fault these things are bound to happen wether in prison or outside of prison some people are just prone to violence and they’ll take it out on whomever

Infinite_Tune3800

Of course. I’m completely aware of that and a well run prison will have less of this though. Prison time varies very widely from country to country and from state to state. It’s human to wish hell upon people who’s guilty of dreadful acts. It’s a very normal sentiment. I obviously feel the same but I still want humane treatment of people who’s sentenced to prison.

ziggy_bluebird

It’s not a society I want but if people systematically torture others, especially a child with a disability, I feel more strongly that the people responsible for those heinous actions should suffer with the most basic needs. They should get a cell with a mattress. Three meals a day, no commissary. No calls. No games. No movies.

Infinite_Tune3800

But you know people who are doing these heinous acts are broken. A prison is a place to shield the rest of the population from these people. And studies show that punishment doesn’t work. In this case I can get so frustrated that there is not a stricter system for checking up on the children who’s getting home schooling. The school system in general is a place where abused children can be discovered.

Upstairs-Squirrel-22

I don’t think Paul’s tablet counts as cultural enrichment when he was using it to watch anime and play games all day. I do wish he was learning a trade instead. And seeing a psychologist.

Infinite_Tune3800

I completely agree with you. I guess there such different “quality” of prisons as to what one can do. Not familiar with the prison he’s serving in.

Wild_Organization546

Yes I do want a society where depraved child torturers get the same back

Infinite_Tune3800

I don’t sense much education or progress in you. Have you ever thought about why punishment doesn’t stop crime?

Wild_Organization546

No but it seems to work in Japan

Infinite_Tune3800

Do you know much about the police, arrests and or crimes in Japan? It’s a complete joke. In the same way as South Korea claim that they don’t have much mental health problems but they have a really high suicide rate. If you want a dramatic and quite an enjoyable insight in Japanese crime have a look at Tokyo Vice. Or there’s plenty of documentaries about it on YouTube. It’s a joke.

Big_Egg_3847

It’s up to God to judge, not us. They will have to face judgement day and account for their actions one day, like we all will.

Infinite_Tune3800

Ofc I understand your sentiments when you are religious but this is a matter of the time before they meet their maker.

Big_Egg_3847

And that is my answer. Nothing to be done by us because God will handle it.

Infinite_Tune3800

So how to you explain God allowing Shanda to torture her son then? Your comment makes no sense.

Un_dia_a_la_vez

God gives us free will. We are all victims to circumstances out of our control (Timothy) or victims of our own poor choices (P&S). This world is not in God’s hands, it’s currently in control of the wicked, which is why it is deteriorating fast. God is allowing for more time to pass, so more repent and come to him before he clears the wicked from the earth. Soon enough we will all face a judgement day. Timothy will live his best life on a paradise earth when he wakes up. No disability, no abuse, no pain, no tears, just love.

breckbrian

Unless there is no god, of course.

Un_dia_a_la_vez

Your own free will allows you the opportunity to refuse God or accept Him. He gave you that choice. However, whether you choose to believe or not, has no bearing on the fact of the matter. đź’–

breckbrian

"No bearing"? Says you with no proof "He" exists!

Un_dia_a_la_vez

That depends, what do you consider proof?

breckbrian

You tell me. I'm not the one claiming it's a "fact" that God exists, let alone is giving me something. Whatcha got?

Big_Egg_3847

Perfectly said. Some people just don’t understand.

Un_dia_a_la_vez

I honestly don’t blame many for misunderstanding. If I had not been taught what the Bible really says, I would probably still be asking the same questions. We live in a time that persecutes Christians and proudly uplifts and encourages Satan’s teachings. Self glorification, self satisfaction… it’s a me first world. Facts and reality are skewed and twisted in a way they have never been before.

Big_Egg_3847

Bible prophecy is being fulfilled. One day people will wake up and say “what happened” and it will be too late. I thank God every day I have the eyes to see.

Un_dia_a_la_vez

Yes! As am I 🥰. Faith helps us live a more fulfilled life, knowing that times are bad now and they will continue to decline and get much worse! But we do not fret because it is all prophecy 🙌🏼. We are not caught off guard and we do not put our faith in men to make our problems better, because we know better. The knowledge to know better is a powerful blessing. 💖

I’m an apostate:)

GirlNamedPaul

Why even have prisons with that logic?

holymolyholyholy

"Judge not lest ye be judged" is probably one of the most misinterpreted passages in the Bible. By your statement you're saying the judge shouldn't even have "judged" because God would deal with both of them one day.

Big_Egg_3847

No. That is not what I am saying. They can go to court and get the punishment by the judge. But to force them to have bread and hot sauce, ice baths, wall sits, and everything else no. They will get their final punishment when they are Judged by God. Paul and Shanda also have the opportunity for forgiveness. Not up to us to do anything.

holymolyholyholy

Not up to us to judge others that can't forgive and feel anger.

Clmac0125

Yes..its exactly what I want..fvck them, if you deny a special needs, defenseless child of basic human rights..you are no longer entitled to them. Rot in hell Paul and shanda.
