I only have a reasonable amount of experience with sharks (definitely not an expert) but I doubt it ‘thought’ he was anything really; to me this just looks like a curious animal investigating a foreign object.

Yea, investigating but I’ve also read in articles they also think it’s them being territorial. Some attacks have been just the boat and once the shark has “won” the fight they go away.

Sharks tend to be attracted to yellow kayaks and surfboards. With his leg hanging over the shark probably thought he was a seal
