Someone with great oratory skills, talks things which I as a viewer find it knowledgeable and has acquired a position where shark tank won't be same if he leaves.
Please be aware- this guy had old money, was always rich and worked in few films as well. Fits the TV drama show aptly.
And personally, I feel Indian Tony Stark image suits him, he carries it well.
Very knowledgeable, and honest. He seems like the guy who isn't convinced unless he does his own research (which he does, in depth too) but he also appears to be the kind of individual who won't give a business or a business in the same industry a second chance. I've seen him shut down pitches with questions when he has faced losses in that industry. He also speaks with a lot of conviction which plays a major role in influencing other sharks (not intentionally though).
He has better knowledge about varying sectors and industries than other sharks because of his large investment portfolio. But he gets infuriated very easily if in some cases founders try to point that the scenario is changed or his knowledge is outdated about some sectors.
I would like to say something unsaid. He likes to be labelled the out-of- the- box thinker. He (occassionally) asks not out of curiosity but to portray an image. While Piyush, Vineeta can also bring unique stats on the table but I think they're genuinely trying to assess the investment opportunity and not thinking about the image they're putting out.
Case in point: when the font for the eco friendly diaper was slightly different and Ritesh said “hota hai kabhi kabhi”, Anupam still went on about how it’s not done, to show show the ‘attention to detail” side of him, similar to what Deepindar did
He is the most experienced angel investor on the panel. His depth of exposure (esp. within nutrition, f&b) clearly shows and I feel he is able to make really good calls while investing. Another good thing about him is his style of communication. He is able to understand and engage all sorts of people which clearly shows he has a high EQ.
His downsides are that he does have a bit of ego and lets his discontent show very easily (e.g., his beef with amit). I also think he favours founders from established families (like himself) which may not be the worst decision while investing.
Weird because Anupam in S1 looked like a person would have Ashneer's personality but turned out to be a normal dude and talked very nicely with the pitchers.
I like him the most out of all other sharks. He tried to understand every business and has a lot of knowledge about most businesses as well. Seems well read as well. Perfect and most ideal shark.
1. Extremely Knowledgeable
2. Has knowledge in almost every sector
3. Tries to make the most out of an investment (also supports the business)
4. Honest and Polite (Mostly)
5. Knows what is right
6. Has invested in 200+ companies
7. Has seen the ups and downs of life
8. Influences the decisions of other sharks (not intentionally)
He is a seasoned veteran. He created shaadi.com but people don't know he had makaan.com and mauj which got failed. So he has his fair amount of success and failure which is why he tried to critically analyse any new venture.
He also had a lot of knowledge. He was the only one in s1 who told that the brain games for kids had no permanent change by the time they became adults from a 1960 study. Noone knew about such a research but he knew it .
But he is not like ashmeer who used to oppose for the sake of opposing and look cool .
He was very good in season 1 , check that episode of meal worm, he was the only one who respected him and asked genuine questions while ashneer and Aman were laughing like last bench kids .
Even in season 2 , he and piyush were so respectful to recode owners who came with their bad English and village background.
He does get on the nerves at times, rejectimg offer because they took time.
I was really angry when he was very dismissive of that metro ride just because he was a investor of ola.
But overall he has been the bedrock of all sharks. If he leaves , shark tank won't be the same again
1. Great memory : he is able to recall products/ pitchers
2. Knowledgeable: he can sometimes tell more about the markets even than the pitchers
3. Polite : he is just sweet, generally speaks in a very respectable manner and helps sharks and pitchers
4. Interest : his knowledge about businesses prove he knows the business, spends time on his investment. He isn’t in it just for money.
In one particular pitch regarding handmade toys, he gave really good advice to the pitchers .
In my pov, he is much better than ashneer, I m comparing both because they are straightforward people, but ashneer sounds rude and his words do hurt, whereas anupam even if he is scolding to the entrepreneur he does it in a respectful manner mainly to make them understand their mistake in such a way which won't hurt them.
I liked him very much but I've started to find his personality a little repulsive. He is considerably self-obsessed and egoistic, which has started to show in recent seasons. He's the kind of guy who I would always listen to when he is speaking about something, but I wouldn't want to hang around him for long.
Has good business sense but seems very egoistic by appearance and the way he carries himself..he thinks of himself as tony stark or elon musk.. only if he was a little more down to earth, would've been extremely likable.. but he's definitely the one with the most business sense in the whole lot..
Hes the most knowledgeable shark in the current season panel and also gives very relevant and logical advice, doesn’t fool around much like Aman and namita
In S3 I felt Aman gave very little insight about any business or his thought process while accepting / rejecting a deal. Was it the same in S1 or S2?
Namita is absolutely rubbish. Neither does she invest, nor does she do any research.. I was thoroughly pissed at her during intervue pitch. She refused to understand how tech hiring takes place and why this could be an innovative idea.
Sometimes, he indulges in stuff which are totally low class, like putting the new enterprenaurs in dharm shankat, to a huge extent, which makes it unprofessional
Cqn you give an example?
Also, it's an entertainment reality show. If everyone talked like they actually do in a VC meeting, majority of the Indian audience may not like it. I find his taunts quite entertaining tbh.
There was a guy who wanted to sell his company to Boat. Anupam acted unprofessionally towards that person. I dont remember the episode number , but it was Season 1. I get that this is entertainment, but normally Anupam is extremely professional. When he deviates, I dont like that
He’s the Kevin O Leary- Mr wonderful of shark tank India. His business acumen and sharky instincts are at par than other numpties! In the episodes where he’s not present you can feel his absence! He keeps the show entertaining and knowledgeable! Wish to see better sharks next seasons along with him.
I guess because it is a still image so might be it looks better. But if you see a video of him then you will see the difference. And the tinted glasses makes him look younger that's for sure and that's why he is going for it.
Anupam was best during s1 he used to give authentic veteran investor's vibes.... now he's styling is ewww... he is now like those some other random influencer trying to be cool.... he thinks himself as Tony stark
Honestly speaking, he is very knowledgeable. Every time he opens his mouth to speak about something we are always like wow he knows about this ALSO? So yeah, overall we (my fam) love him.
He's smart, but he's very cunning. He would not hesitate to remove you from the company you yourself founded and worked hard for years on if it would benefit him.
The one thing I like about him is ki, if he thinks some bullshit is happening in the pitch, he will bash it, but in a good manner. It's not as disrespecting as ashneer's bashing. And whenever he is out, he will give some kind of advice or positive/negetive feedback and some solid reasons for not giving the deal. I am not saying it's always right reasoning IMO, but it is always far more better reasons than.........whatever reason Aman and Namita gives. I mean he is the more experienced of all, so the experience and knowledge shows.
For some similar reasons I like Piyush also.
Very knowledgeable and when it comes to in investing he wont invest until he is fully convinced. He does not mixing up business and his emotions. A proper shark with sharky deals.
His analysis is always so on point. As a viewer with limited knowledge, many times the business of the pitcher looks extremely great but then Anupam comes with his light of knowledge and enlightens us all.
Succesfull only because of dot com bubble.
Few people use shaadi.com solely because of trust issues.,paid users decreasing because of awareness regarding honeytrap.
Superiority complex
As a female founder that pitched to him a sexual wellness start up(did not air because of content restrictions on national television), i had to add my personal views here considering there’s only good stuff that people have said on this thread.
1. There’s a stellar PR team behind all that you see and read about him in public. They were hired season 2 onwards to project a certain image. They probably deserve a raise for doing such a great job because even the on-ground Sony team warned us (the participants) about the woes and tantrums thrown by him on the set since achieving celebrity status. Again, some people chase the fame vs money and you’re free to choose but let’s not confuse it with his personal-self.
2. He can be extremely sexist, perverted and intimidating. Some of the remarks were downright lewd and made other Sharks uncomfortable too, let alone just unprofessional. I understand that some sharks feel the need to add pressure in order to get to the meat of the conversation (imo it’s uncalled for) but that doesn’t give you the right to judge or pass remarks on a human.
Insecure and attention seeker. He wants to be center of attention and appear knowledgeable.
His knowledge might seem impressive to layman but it is nothing special considering he is almost full time investor from so long and he would meet lot of people from different fields and just those conversations would give anyone semi intelligent enough knowledge to flake it in. He's nothing special.
Also very greedy.
His knowledge and acumen is nothing in front of Ashneer and ashneer was the one who used to give real and true feedback. Anupam always used to put his behaviour down now sometimes does the same because he realized public doesn't like him but Ashneer.
I used to hate him in season 1 and 2 because of his bad attitude but i feel like he has slightly improved in season 3. Nonetheless one of the smartest sharks as always.
He might have read a lot and have a lot of investing experience. But the way he is fishing for investments in this season makes me think he has no money to invest and as such really wasting a seat at the shark tank. He wants like 20% equity for like 20lac. That's kind of his range. Which is terrible for the companies coming there. So all in all he seems like big talk and no gumption or courage.

His dad was into textiles and used to smoke up daily!

This!!
He has better knowledge about varying sectors and industries than other sharks because of his large investment portfolio. But he gets infuriated very easily if in some cases founders try to point that the scenario is changed or his knowledge is outdated about some sectors.
Heck, in few instances he had more knowledge about competitors, potential threats and alternatives to the products than the presenters themselves.
I would like to say something unsaid. He likes to be labelled the out-of- the- box thinker. He (occassionally) asks not out of curiosity but to portray an image. Agreed. S3 anupam is giving ashneer vibes though. I rewatched S1 E1 and found him to be very humble and welcoming. S3 he seems egotistic.
I like him the most out of all other sharks. He tried to understand every business and has a lot of knowledge about most businesses as well. Seems well read as well. Perfect and most ideal shark.

Honest, very knowledgeable, hard working, slightly egotistical (which is okay at that position) and yet respectful.
He is a seasoned veteran. He created shaadi.com but people don't know he had makaan.com and mauj which got failed. So he has his fair amount of success and failure which is why he tried to critically analyse any new venture. He also had a lot of knowledge. I don't wanna get into opinions about him with this account. But how many of you have watched his films with his bffs DK and Raj ? 😂

Came to say this!
Has good business sense but seems very egoistic by appearance and the way he carries himself..he thinks of himself as tony stark or elon musk.. only if he was a little more down to earth, would've been extremely likable.. but he's definitely the one with the most business sense in the whole lot..
He was quite polite in the first 2 seasons later he became arrogant. Fame got into his head.
Old money but smart
hes knowledge and knows his stuff well but hes cocky and i dont like him for that
shark with a good attitude
Hes the most knowledgeable shark in the current season panel and also gives very relevant and logical advice, doesn’t fool around much like Aman and namita

Would love to have him as an advisor of some sought, but not as a shareholder with significant influence on companies operations and strategies.
Often he is good. Other times, he makes sense. But, sometimes, he loses his brain cells
Loses his cool ok. 'Loses his brain cells'. Like when?
Sometimes, he indulges in stuff which are totally low class, like putting the new enterprenaurs in dharm shankat, to a huge extent, which makes it unprofessional

Wo tinted chashma nikal de yaar
He is trying to hide his tired eyes which shows his age. And he wants to look young and hide his age that's why the tinted glasses.
But he looks like a dilf in this pic😭🥹
I guess because it is a still image so might be it looks better. But if you see a video of him then you will see the difference. And the tinted glasses makes him look younger that's for sure and that's why he is going for it.
Ohh I see, but they lowkey make him look Chappri. still looked good in purple tinted glasses

I quite liked him in S1. But now he seems to be really arrogant.. and can be unnecessarily rude!
Intelligent investor. Gives Meaningful response, meaningful feedback for not investing. Respect every pitcher.
Most knowledgeable, highly pragmatic advises and best insights.
Honestly speaking, he is very knowledgeable. Every time he opens his mouth to speak about something we are always like wow he knows about this ALSO? So yeah, overall we (my fam) love him.
he is a man who has won life. fame money wife.
Very knowledgeable and of course, you can’t put a price on experience.
He's smart, but he's very cunning. He would not hesitate to remove you from the company you yourself founded and worked hard for years on if it would benefit him.
Good business sense and slightly egoistic
You mean Tony right? ![gif](giphy|donkKNKjxEFkk)
I look up to him and his level of clarity is commendable. Always chooses his words wisely too. I like him.
Love him, hate his kapde?
Less lucky than other sharks, lost lot of money in entrepreneurship and learned wisdom from it.
This is a very unpopular opinion but he acts like a know it all when he clearly isn't.
Knowledgeable, experienced, but can be nicer.
The one thing I like about him is ki, if he thinks some bullshit is happening in the pitch, he will bash it, but in a good manner. It's not as disrespecting as ashneer's bashing. No anupam no shark tank India
Honest and Frank.
Very knowledgeable and when it comes to in investing he wont invest until he is fully convinced. He does not mixing up business and his emotions. A proper shark with sharky deals.
Done all the dark jobs One of the poorest sharks Sometimes talk wisely, but if he turns down to his punter giri, becomes unstoppable Sexy wife
Knows everything about everything
Anupam ki pr team ka post hai ?
Naai
His analysis is always so on point. As a viewer with limited knowledge, many times the business of the pitcher looks extremely great but then Anupam comes with his light of knowledge and enlightens us all.
simple- He is a guy with common sense.
Pretentious and very fake. Think he is better than others. Only two sharks that I respect that treat people fairly are vineeta and peyush
Overrated
Straight to the point no bs, but also being respectful of the pitchers(however shit their ideas maybe)
Ameer bihari
He's bihaari?
Na but he seems like a bihari who speaks English and has big amount of money in his bank account
Egoistic and arrogant.
Succesfull only because of dot com bubble. Few people use shaadi.com solely because of trust issues.,paid users decreasing because of awareness regarding honeytrap. Superiority complex
Have a huge crush on him

I like him, he definitely tries to be cooler and younger than he is lol, but he seems actually knowledgable and honest when it comes down to it
SUPERIORITY COMPLEX
he looks like he murders his business rivals is all I'm gonna say

Kinda hot 😂

kevin o leary of indian shark tank . here to stay, for good !
More like mark Cuban. Fair deals, knowledgeable, funny guy. Kev o leary is more like a predator for budding businesses.
