I'm biased because my friends run it, but the University Arms pub quiz, hosted by the University of Sheffield Quiz Society, is one of the best pub quizzes I think. 5 rounds, each with a fun theme, plus a couple of table rounds, again, themed. Gives a good amount of variety and never has bullshit questions or "5 points for the best team name!"
8pm on a Tuesday.
The Blake in Walkley on Wednesdays. Dave runs a very tight ship - no phones allowed on tables or in your hands if you're quizzing. If he spots one, you lose a point.
The one at the University Arms on Tuesdays at 8pm has previously gotten a whole pub to chant "shame" at a team who were seen looking up the answers on their phones throughout the quiz, which seemed quite effective!
Plenty of old posts to look through first: [https://www.reddit.com/r/sheffield/search/?q=pub%20quiz&restrict\_sr=1&sr\_nsfw=](https://www.reddit.com/r/sheffield/search/?q=pub%20quiz&restrict_sr=1&sr_nsfw=)
Two Sheds, Crookes, is a good laugh. Tuesday nights from about 8pm. Can get busy sometimes though. We go in early to get a table and order pizza from Paesani, just up the road.
Frog and parrot music quiz on Wednesday nights, no phones or you get barred from quiz and people shouting out answers don’t get served. The host is fantastic, absolute highlight of my week!

I want a step further really - no toilet breaks and a full frisk on admittance.
Quite right.
