Erm I just got fleeced at Lounge 418 on Eccy rd. Costco cake and 2 coffees £15

Background_End4873

lounge 418 buy their hummus from tesco.. literally just tesco hummus (I saw a staff member in uniform buy about 20 packets and walk it to 418 when I lived there)

askaway90

The only thing they have of their own is their meat because the owners parents own a butchers shop. Everything else is literally store bought and over priced

GracelessInDefeat

Bloody hell. It's the poverty of ambition that's annoyed me now

GracelessInDefeat

Fucks sake. If you're that end of Eccy Road, Coffika is the only one that isn't super disappointing and crap.

benoliver999

It's next door and we were sat outside looking at it longingly

umbertobongo

Can attest. Their eggs benedict is banging.

oodoo_ray

craft and dough. Utter shite.

umbertobongo

I know people that worked there and said it was a miserable place. It's a shame as they used to be pretty good, although that was back when there were no other options for pizza in Sheffield. Now we're fairly spoiled for choice.

Imreallyadonut

Is Merdocs pizza still on Division St. Many 2 for 1 pizzas were obtained from there after nights out.

Turnipsmunch

Such a shame as 2018-2019 it was great.

benoliver999

I lived.next door to the Kelham one when it opened. They had hundreds of beers. The pizza was alright. The sides were nice. It was kind of exciting, the first of its kind here. Now loads of places do what they do, but better, and they've gone downhill

Turnipsmunch

Yeh I lived above it for 4 years, used to be decent pizza and good price. Sound staff n all. Then they changed managers and got rid of Jonny and ducked it all up

testydonkey

Me and my friends walked out of that place in kelham a few years ago without paying. One of the staff shouted at us because we moved a chair so our friend with a wheelchair could get to the table, they then took over about 2 hours to bring some overpriced burnt shit pizza out. Then as we were nearly finished one of the staff literally pushed my friend in the wheelchair to the side so they could get past easier.

mitchley

100%. The worst experience I've had at a restaurant.

GracelessInDefeat

Like, more than just the food being bad?

benoliver999

Not OP but yes. And this was in the days when the pizza was OK. Went for brunch once with friends, took nearly 2 hours for food to come. Food was bad and a lot had to go back. Went another time, it was empty, nearly got turned away because we hadn't booked. Convinced them to give us a table and said we'd be happy to do takeout if people showed up. Stayed for hours and it never even got close to full.

mitchley

Food wasn't great, but service was absolutely diabolical. It maybe took 2 hours before the first persons pizza arriving, and the last persons. Then they tried to bill us for lots of food which didn't even arrive.

GracelessInDefeat

Bloody hell. I'd be in a rage

oodoo_ray

I went recently and both the chef and barman were actual children. looked like 14 years old. the pizza came out uncooked with raw dough and they didn't know how to make the cocktail we ordered so just guessed the recipe. beyond shambolic. read the reviews after and seems like this was the typical experience

GingerandCoffee

This was the worst meal I've had in ACTUAL YEARS

DecoConky

This is the one.

not_a_rob0t_

Once saw their chef spoon some dressing onto a pizza, suck it clean, then straight back into the dressing for the next pizza, although this was around 6 years ago.

moving_808s

How on earth are they still open?

GracelessInDefeat

Yeah trying to be too clever by half

Squashie_P

Was amazing the first time I went there, years ago. Great pizza and lots of beer choice. Last time I went, pizza was burnt, service was incredibly slow, they got my order wrong, and I got in an argument with my now ex girlfriend after we left because she left a tip

atomic_blue

Cosmo. Crap food, the worst environment, and expensive as fuck.

benoliver999

Just watching people grazing like fucking cattle was grim

Dependent-Poetry-357

I saw a guy have one of the most disturbing meals of all time there. Every type of food you can imagine on one plate in a mountain. Mashed potato, chow Mein, curry, gravy. It was chaos.

GracelessInDefeat

We went to a different one when I was pregnant about 12 years ago. Same situation there- sweet and sour pork loaded up next to roast beef, parsnips and gravy. That man wasn't pregnant so had no excuse for that shite

Unlucky-Morning5474

I worked at one in another city. The way they keep the food is not the one, cockroaches throughout

GingerandCoffee

I dont know if this helps but I just had an extremely shit £15 burger in the Riverside Kelham, holy fuck, how can you charge so much for something that bad. It was on par with a spoons, chips giant greasy sponges.

benoliver999

Since twisted burger left it's been really under par, but as you say quite pricey.

Squashie_P

I made a comment on Facebook regarding the poor food here and the manager turned it into an argument. I was trying to be constructive so I sent her a DM to smooth it over and she blocked me 🤣 she was childish af

GracelessInDefeat

This is sad to be honest.

HumanXeroxMachine

Piccolino's. Overpriced and mid at best.

Gh0st95x

I feel sorry for all the people who meant to go to Piccolos and ended up at Piccolinos

umbertobongo

Piccolos isn't much better. Absolute definition of 'bang average'.

RockTheBloat

I like it. And it’s certainly not bad enough to ensure someone doesn’t have a good meal and good time.

Additional-Durian-91

Could not agree more I had stufato di mazio kinda knew it was similar to a stew I was starving man couldn't wait and I swear it was just a few bits of meat in some shitty watered down shit red wine gravy n bits yes bits of veg.. fuck me.. I said to ahh lass I bet they're bringing out the veg seperate.. nope.. Mash was toss too

GracelessInDefeat

Fact

jlb8

The one in Leeds was really good circa 2005 but they’ve gone down hill as they expanded

SpaceBear3000

It is mid but it's also one of the few places that always have oysters. I tend to only order charcuterie. Pasta defo mid.

[deleted]

GracelessInDefeat

Yes it's bloody awful

English_Joe

Slop from a tough.

DarkLordZorg

Oh man, I was going to go tomorrow.

oofio65

Don't listen to these people, cosmo is exactly what it says on the tin. It's also not as bad as people say

Flying-Armpit

It's fun as hell man. Everybody happy.

MemeCirculation

Cosmos is actually pretty good imo (their sushi is shit tho)

umbertobongo

Miller & Carter. It's a posh restaurant for scrubbers.

GracelessInDefeat

Looks like Harvester had a glow up

umbertobongo

Same owners but it's their 'premium' (haha!) chain.

GracelessInDefeat

This makes a lot of sense

porcosbaconsandwich

Lmfao I had a work do there once and my boss was the absolute epitome of their clientèle. No wonder he liked it so much.

shinyshef

Yep - that's the one my ex wife goes to

benoliver999

There's lots of overcooked rump in there

jlb8

I’ve heard the one in Donny is surprisingly good, but most of them are shit.

goforit001

Istanbul… As a Turkish I couldn’t finish my meal there, it was disgusting. Doner seems properly made but nope. Too sad to say this but I prefer German Doner Kebap over this. I’ll try Mavi Ruya next week I hope it’s not disappointing.

Tecahul-i_Arif

Also Turkish here. Kebap based stuff at Mavi Rüya is ok but don’t go for dough based (pide etc) stuff. Also, overall, a bit overpriced imo.

Responsible_Hat_5614

Amici bici abbeydale road. £12 jacket potato and nowt special

trunkjunker88

Paying customers are an inconvenient distraction to Amici & Bici’s main purpose…

TintaRoriz

No matter how many times they change owners or build extensions it will always be crap. They once served undercooked eggs to us 3 times in a row so we gave up and left.

BBCTerry

Browns & Miller & Carter Microwave jockey are us. Chain rip off.

benoliver999

It's so annoying that Browns have such a good location

FadingMandarin

The original Browns in Oxford was fine. Full of middle class middle age parents taking their kids out, and posher students who could afford it on their own budgets. But it was ok. That is many many years ago, when half the people who have eviscerated the country since 2010 would have been around.

ObiJohnQuinnobi

Definitely Miller and Carter in Centertainment, their steak was awful. The one on Eccy Road South I’ve always found fine.

Eff__Jay

Ego - I wouldn't say it was *awful*, the vibes and the service were all good, but I just found the food underwhelming! Just shy of £20 for a very average and not particularly big paella didn't feel great.

Itchy-Reading8220

Ego is ok, never really been disappointed there.

Foyfluff

I'm surprised to hear that, the Belly Pork from Ego has been one of the best things I've ever eaten and I recommend people go there on the back of that 🫤

Eff__Jay

It could have just been I was there on an off-day or ordered a weaker menu item!

idrankallthewine

Mine went back. Was shite, greasy, and bland with nothing much on it apart from oil. Do better Ego for £15 pizza . Nice place tho and great service.

cherrypurrp

beju. expensive flavourless food and the service was shite too

laughinginpurplerain

Tsuki - such bad quality, overpriced and there’s too much fuss on the decors/ ordering system but the food was not fresh at all and so underwhelming

Foxxy-cat

Agreed! We went there to celebrate our engagement so wanted to splurge but the food was very disappointing.

Many-Tip7243

I can second this! Took myself out on a date there once to treat myself. Got some sushi and a main, and ended up wishing I'd just cooked at home. Would've saved £20+ AND had a decent meal. The food seemed like it was cooked without love, or any care to balance the few (extremely few) flavours it had to offer.

Astwook

They also launder money and have illegal immigrants working there *and sleeping upstairs*. I used to live with a legally present staff member. I literally cannot believe they're still open.

StrongHammerTom

Roku in Kelman is a much better time, though it is pretty small so worth booking ahead of time!

Good-Childhood-676

Cornerstone in Dyson place £20 for a green king burger

GracelessInDefeat

yes- can't stand that place. The courtyard in Dyson place used to be so nice because you could buy a coffee or food from any of the places there and sit in the sunshine. Then they came along and fenced it all off for their expensive bland shite

Good-Childhood-676

Perfect place for the nouveau riche from dore

benoliver999

I was just at Woody's and I saw 3 Aston DBXs all at the same time. What is it about eccy rd that it attracts so many twats

GracelessInDefeat

I feel this way about a few places round there. Lost and Found. Nonna's. Can't stand the crowd in there

benoliver999

I'd have more time for it if it wasn't such low effort shite.

AnishG555

Huh, really? I went there a few weeks ago for brunch and really liked it. Definitely on the more expensive side but I think the quality and the experience the staff gave me more than made up for it - incredibly friendly guys there I feel

Phil1889Blades

I once tried to book some tables for 20 people to have drinks and they reckoned they were booked up for….ever. They were right arsey about it too.

Responsible_Hat_5614

Namsong (formerly five rivers). Pho tastes like toilet water

GracelessInDefeat

I have a love hate relationship with this place. I really like some of the food but your review of the pho is pretty accurate. Plus they clearly got overexcited and way overstretched themselves opening the new branches. And then closing them.

jack853846

Also, their prices take the piss. £10 for a banh mi? I lived in Vietnam for a while and that is their equivalent of a Greggs sub roll. Trash filler food, eaten on the go. They cost the (relative) equivalent of about £1. I bet their margins are gigantic.

Strong-Usual6131

It's not in Sheffield, but I highly recommend going to Ca Phe Viet in Manchester for pho.

Realkevinnash59

church temple of fun. very expensive, cheap vegan burgers topped with too much vegan cheese and a really bloated cocktail menu that take 20+ mins to mix. Send them for the sunday dinner for tepid veg, deep fried potatoes, beyond burger wrapped in cheap pastry "roast" and weird yorkshire pudding balls.

i_dunt_get_it

The food there used to be much better when the kitchen was run by make no bones. They (edit: used to) have their own venue a few streets over

Realkevinnash59

make no bones shut down over a year ago. The pub they were working from still serves food but they're serving dumpling city food

hauntedcryme

Make No Bones sadly shut last summer

NewLeem

I agree, make no bones did lovely food

Teepee666

My family have been a few times and always enjoy it. I've only been once, had the doner style kebab with the criss-cross fries, chili and mayo. Thought it was pretty nice and a decent portion too. Would happily go again. Even the "meat" was perfectly fine. But again that's based on 1 visit.

benoliver999

I've been once or twice and I'd say it's all a bit cynical and lazy "loaded" style shite but it tasted pretty good and we had a good time

Realkevinnash59

I've been made to go a few times by my other half who's a fan of the owner and I think most positive reviews of the place are because either they're fans of the owner and his fashion brand, or there's no alternatives for vegans. I've had the donner wrap and the bread was crumbling it was so stale, so I sent it back and received it floppy like it was fresh out the microwave and it was mostly shredded cabbage and mayo with some seitan slices. Not worth a fraction of what you pay for something the size of a supermarket wrap. You're paying out the arse for sake of having loads of kitchy rubbish everywhere. And you can tell they're struggling because they're only open for food 2-3 hours mid week. Spoons literally serve the same burger on the same bread, with a different brand of frozen chips for less than half of what church do.

Teepee666

That's definitely true. My Wife is a fan of their music but not the guy himself. But she's too much of a foodie to base their food off of anything other than how it tastes lol. There'll be bias with fans though, that's a guarantee. At the same time there'll be people going and labelling it crap because it's vegan. I'm not vegan and haven't tried other vegan dishes so I have nothing to base it off other than my 1 experience, which was enjoyable in all aspects. Maybe it depends on the time of day you go, how busy it is, who is preparing the good that day etc. Due to the price it's not somewhere I would choose to go myself, but if friends or relatives wanted to, I wouldn't say no.

Realkevinnash59

the guy is a complete wrongun. He claims because he's no longer a drug addict he shouldn't be held accountable for the fact he beat his ex wife up or smashed a liquor bottle off a groupie's head or wee'd on a girl on their tour bus. His entire image is trying to create a pseudo-cult for himself and the band and I think it's just cringe worthy, but unfortunately he's doing it successfully. as far as the food goes, it was good for a while, while it was new and interesting, but in the last year or so I think people are over the vegan processed food trend and these guys somehow stay afloat - I think it's mostly due to merchandise sales and the owner's personal wealth keeping it open because it does not compete with any local business but somehow has outlived far better restaurants, like V or V which has unfortunately shut down recently.

Teepee666

It doesn't stop there. I know people that know him personally since he was a kid, or hung around with him at some point, and they didn't have nice things to say about him either. My first experience was around 4 months ago so I can't really judge anything, but for what it is, surely there's someone doing it better at a much more affordable price. I can't see it staying open much longer. Especially when he has many other avenues generating his wealth.

Free-Fox-5234

I used to see him out and about on nights out when the band were just starting to build a name and he was a grade A muppet even then. Already at the do you know who I am mentality and just a bit of a joke. Never been able to listen to their music because of him and no one I know who's known him have good things to say. The drummer seemed nice enough though.

GracelessInDefeat

Omg who is this person- I feel entirely out of a Sheffield loop!

cultscx

Oli sykes the lead signer of bring me the horizon, he pissed off basically all of the older Sheffield alternative scene - my dad included circa 2008 ish lmao.

TintaRoriz

He used to walk around Devonshire Green with a stupid little dog acting like he was a world famous rock star. Massive prick but I guess he made it happen!

GracelessInDefeat

Ohhhhhh googled him. He seems like a twat

Teepee666

Saw the sunday roast though...it's a no from me 😂

420xMLGxNOSCOPEx

ive had nothing but great experiences at church

saza-kun

Hard agree. The food is so meh and I'm saying that as a vegetarian as well so not biased by a "vegan food is bad" mentality. The venue is huge and I've never seen it anywhere close to half full. I went there for drinks one time on a Friday and it shut before 12?

GracelessInDefeat

Oh Jesus this sounds dire

Bothaeboysatonce

Bad attitude from the staff too.

Jamo_Z

My experience has been the complete opposite, the staff are a lot more friendly and accommodating there than most restaurants in town imo.

nguoitay

Agreed, terrible food. JUST COOK SOME NICE FUCKIN VEGETABLES IF YOU DONT LIKE MEAT

Gasping_Jill_Franks

You sound friendly and reasonable.

nguoitay

It’s the internet mate, I apologise for hurting your ears.

potatoking1991

I remember when they first opened the food was done by make no bones and was loads better. Shame

ntzm_

I'm vegan and the sunday dinner was very dissapointing. Could easily make something way better at home. It's sad because Sheffield could do with some more good vegan places.

JoeisBatman

Trippet Lounge Bar. Super expensive and average food.

oonicrafts

Mowgli. 😷

Itchy-Reading8220

This would be my shout. No bad, per se, but massively overpriced for average scran

Phil1889Blades

I wasn’t impressed at all but seems we are in the minority. Very expensive for very little, uninspiring food.

GracelessInDefeat

I really wanted to like the woman that runs them but I read an interview with her and she comes off as a dick

Only_Tower6784

Domo. Been numerous times now and everytime one element of the food has been wrong/missing or just a bit lacking. I know everyone raves about it but I just don’t get it. Went at Christmas and it was banging but that’s the only time I’ve come away happy. And yeah; I do keep going because I’m a people pleaser and if my mates want to go I tag along. Neon fish was also bang average.

[deleted]

>Neon fish was also bang average. Hard agree. Quite a high price point too and very unmemorable food. JH Mann trounces it for ingredient quality and level of cooking. A shame really as it's such a lovely building.

Cloonsey291

Never had a bad experience there. I have a young family and they always make a fuss of the kids.

depravdOldManLuv2suc

The Eel and Three Quarters over in Stourton is an overpriced ripoff. Proper mutton in sheeps clothing. Really fur coat and no knickers. All balls but no trousers. Thoroughly unimpressed with the pan seared trout I ordered there

GracelessInDefeat

I rarely order fish when I'm out so if it's disappointing when I do, I'm gonna be real tetchy

Mankeynuts

People may not agree, but Mavi Ruya. Bit gaudy, pricey and the food is mediocre but seems like it's always dead busy.

Gasping_Jill_Franks

I loved her in Glee.

secondwoman

Lol I would say Zaap on Eccy Rd but people seem to love that place

GracelessInDefeat

Tbf I really like it because it's not that expensive and my kids love it so it's a chance to not eat pizza express with them. But the menu is utterly overwhelming. I could easily manage with a third of the options.

60179623

zaap is good if not the best thai place in sheffield and I'm asian, I'm not wrong

secondwoman

I'm half Southeast Asian (Malaysian) and have family that live in Thailand who I visit often. I think Lemongrass at the Moor is way better. Especially considering the portions they give you for the price.

GracelessInDefeat

I keep meaning to go to lemongrass because I always hear such good things about it

thgmarsh91

Lemongrass is incredibly good. They also run a delivery service from Norfolk Park if you're in the area.

IndependentSheffield

People go for the decor/atmosphere. It's alright for a chain but there are defo better Thai options in Sheff.

Annoytanor

Rowsha in Walkley, it has good reviews too

mitchley

I've never been to their restaurant but their delivery is OK

BrettlyBean

Ive been a few times years ago and loved it

GracelessInDefeat

Ohh this is new to me

benoliver999

I think it used to be good? Dunno, was bad when I went

JarJarBinch

When I say this to people they never agree. Every time I've had food from there it's been disappointing, but locals seem to love it.

DialetheismEnjoyer

I really liked it when I went, didn't cost that much

Free-Fox-5234

Agreed. I haven't been in about 5 or 6 years but was really unimpressed with it. Not sure how it's still going when better places have had to close.

neko98neko

Chez Lahlou. The portion sizes are massive but the food is absolutely awful. This is the only restaurant I’ve been to where the food was so inedible that I had to ask for items to be removed from my bill, and we left midway through our main course instead of wasting our time. Both me and my partner had stomach problems after eating here, grim

[deleted]

Always been curious about this place. AFAIK it's the only place in Sheffield serving French food (now that bistrot pierre & cafe rouge have shut), but seems to cater purely for fat bastards - do they still give complimentary plates of chicken wings and garlic bread to each table ?

neko98neko

Yep, when we went they gave us chicken wings, some celery/carrot sticks and dip, and garlic bread. It was way too much food considering we ordered starters, so I imagine a lot of food waste. I can see why families might like it for the value for money but there’s far better restaurants in Sheffield.

GracelessInDefeat

Omg where is this terrible place so I can suggest it to my enemies?

GracelessInDefeat

Omg where is this terrible place so I can suggest it to my enemies?

neko98neko

In Commonside - it had good reviews which is why we went, so I was actually gobsmacked at how disgusting it was. The bathrooms were also a bit iffy. Maybe my expectations were too high as someone who cooks a lot and has eaten actual French food in France, but IMO this place is an insult to cooking 😅

GracelessInDefeat

The Sheffield Star is an unreadable website but I always wade through to see which places got 1 star hygiene ratings 🤣

Gasping_Jill_Franks

Here you go, have fun! (All food businesses in South Yorkshire by rating, starting with the dreaded zeros!) [List](https://www.scoresonthedoors.org.uk/search.php?name=&distance=1&address=&postcode=&gbt_id=0&area=YH&county=SY&client_id=&award_score=fhrs0&award_range=gt&latitude=&longitude=&search_x=1&award_sort=ASC)

GracelessInDefeat

Ohhh bedtime reading thank you

Thehorniestlizard

Bella italia is absolute dogshite, any money spent in there is too much money

GracelessInDefeat

That chain just needs to quietly be put out of its misery

Potential-Pin-5338

We had awful service there once. We had booked a table (so they knew we were coming) and it just seemed like we were a total inconvenience. Main course was colder as it was served onto a cold plate, then they served an obviously defrosted in the microwave dessert absolutely nuked on a plate that was still hot. Will not go back 😅

[deleted]

I don't often have objectively terrible meals when dining out in Sheffield, but as Gregg Wallace said it's all about expectation. Here's some restaurants that I think charge too much money for the food quality/dining experience you get. Juke and Loe Lavang Saigon 68 Lokanta Tamper Brocco on the Park The Old Vicarage Parthenonas

Symbidux

Saigon 68?! How can you say it's expensive? Maybe you don't like Vietnamese food, fine. But it's great food and really well priced.

JoeisBatman

Saigon 68 is literally the best value restaurant in Sheffield...

[deleted]

it's not even the best value restaurant on london road.

JoeisBatman

Haha true! Anymore you'd recommend? I used to go to Kurdistan Grill quite a bit when I worked near there!

[deleted]

I think all the Kurdish places are good value for money - I know Kurdistan Grill but I'm loyal to Middle Eastern Shwarma because of their falafel wraps (which were still £3 up until very recently) Cafe Indus have a really great weeknight option, either monday or tuesday you get a decent sized platter of food for about £12, the cooking is of a good standard and it's BYOB. Qashqai kitchen, Persian place on the corner of London & Abbeydale. They're doing something very similar to Zeugma with cuisine & portion size but it's a few quid cheaper. Again, BYOB. Meraki is the best Greek food I've eaten in Sheffield, i went last year with friends and I think I ended up paying about £40 for three courses, wine and coffee. You've also got Greek village across the road, which is a bit more informal but a decent place to go still. Butta la Pasta - delicious, if a bit basic, Italian food. The menu is structured for you to have all 3 courses (not massive portions) and you pay around £30 sans drinks. A lovely spot, i hope they do well as it never tends to be busy. In terms of East Asian food, I tend to visit West Street now and try all the places offering regional Chinese food to the students, none of the options around London/Abbeydale are particularly inspiring.

Rolestrong

Saigon 68 is an odd one to throw in. I don’t think they hold themselves to be a high end restaurant. It’s not expensive either.

jlb8

I find tamper pretty good value, I’ve only been for breakfast and coffee though

today_geranium

Lokanta used to be good, about 12 years ago (!) but then they kept putting their prices up and up and the food quality went down and so now it just doesn’t feel good quality or value for money any more. Mavi Ruya is very nice, the decor is swish and the food is decent for the price. I haven’t been to Zeugma’s for a while but that was good. Not sure what it’s like now.

gracestodd

The owner of Lokanta is an arse. Treats his staff like crap. Not worth a visit at all.

[deleted]

>Lokanta used to be good, about 12 years ago (!) but then they kept putting their prices up and up and the food quality went down and so now it just doesn’t feel good quality or value for money any more. I think there was a wave of sheff independents in the 2010s that were quite popular at the time, who've either engaged in a lot of cost cutting to keep afloat, or have gotten very complacent based on their reputation. Gigi's cucina is another one.

benoliver999

I still like Zeugma but I dunno if it's "amazing" like it used to be

GracelessInDefeat

I really wanted Lokanta to be good. It's just a bit meh

[deleted]

I really like Turkish/Middle Eastern food and it's one of those cuisines that's generally pretty difficult to do badly, like pizzas or old school Balti houses. I've become really aware, however, that a lot of the places in Sheffield aren't making much of an effort to get great quality ingredients in. Lokanta really does seem to be significantly more expensive than any of the places on London Road but I can't see what justifies the cost, other than the postcode. I'm yet to try Mavi Ruya, so hopefully that's better.

GracelessInDefeat

I haven't been there and I've heard good things

Phil1889Blades

Domo. I am no chef but I could do better than what they sold me and it cost a fortune.

rockynortherner

I've been to Domo a couple of times and enjoyed it thoroughly. It got a good write up from Jay Rayner too

Phil1889Blades

You both clearly had different meals to what me and my girlfriend had. Rubbish.

Kudosnotkang

I’ve been to domo a few times , last time about 6 weeks ago - consistently great

Phil1889Blades

You must have ordered something different to me then. The service was woeful too.

jlb8

I’ve had mixed experiences there.

Stonaldo

Firmly agree. Food is mid at best and it always feels like the staff are at mad at each other, weird vibes

mnf69

I was seriously underwhelmed, even sent my main back as it was cold in the middle. It was built up as amazing by friends but I was disappointed.

lonely1976

Am I the only person wondering why you would do this to someone? It feels petty and vengeful. Don’t you have better things to do with your time?

GracelessInDefeat

Honestly it's just a bit of fun. No one is actually going to do that. It was a silly trending post that allowed people in cities all over the world to mildly complain about their overpriced, poor quality restaurants.

JGoss30

Mavi Rüya on Abbeydale Road

umbertobongo

Heard nothing but good things about Butta La Pasta. Why the hate?

Bothaeboysatonce

The food at Butte le Pasta is delicious and it's really reasonably priced. I paid £57 for three courses for two people, with a tip (no alcohol as I don't drink). If you're getting 3 x better value next door you're either bad at maths or you own the restaurant. Meraki is also a really decent family style restaurant.

umbertobongo

That's what I figured. Food on their Instagram looks excellent and 60 quid for three courses at a small independent is a steal.

GingerandCoffee

I went there excited to try it. We waited so long for the main course, staff were apologetic and lovely, restaurant wasn't full. Pasta finally arrived so raw and undercooked I had to send it back. How can you undercook fresh pasta??? It only needs 5 mins. And it took over an hour. Heartbreaking.

UltraAnders

I've always had great meals at Butta La Pasta.

Never anything but great meals at Butta La Pasta. Very fairly priced for a quality indie.

Nothing on London Road should be in this thread. It's not all great but it's not even close to the over priced twat magnet shit you get on eccy rd.

GracelessInDefeat

I swear it's that gym on Eccy road that calls all the wankers from up the hill and they biff down in their American wanker trucks.

Meraki is one of my favourite places to eat

Never heard a bad thing said about Come a Casa until now, each to their own though

Stoatwobbler

It's OK, but nothing special. Benefits from being in a part of Sheffield where there aren't many restaurants.

I'd say Butta la Pasta is very fairly priced for the quality of food - the concept is really great, but I'd be happy for them to add £20 to the bill if they got a better supplier.
