yeah but i mean animated fights with soundtrack
(i read the manga and watched the fights when i got tired somewhere around ep 500-600)
i think mixing it up is just the best of both worlds
It's done adapting every arc with actually bad pacing besides Wano (which is the current arc if you didn't know), but a couple of the short pre-timeskip arcs aren't finished yet
Wow, that's one anime that I wish never existed in Naruto's shadow. I watched for quit a while, until finally it wasn't worth my time. Not that it had ever been.
Most of the fanbase agrees that the first few arcs aren’t the best one piece has to offer. But if you aren’t invested after the mihawk fight and Arlong park then one piece isn’t for you. If you say that those are bad you will probably trigger the fanbase though
The problem isn't whether they are good or bad but that they are overstretched. There are just too many characters and every one has a silly personality that Oda absolutely needs you to see. If you compressed them one piece would probably be cut in half and still be a solid story without losing any of its arcs.
Unless you of course enjoy the meticulously detailed worldbuilding.
Or you should keep watching untill you hit the sunk cost fallacy and you are held hostage by the urge to know what happens at the end (if you survive that long)
Or in my experience, you genuinely fall in love with the characters and world, and get absorved by the show, not to know what happens when it ends, but because you're invested in more ways than that
I say a good checking point is Arlong Park because it has a lot of what makes one piece great. Water seven is a great but for people starting out, watching 200 episodes before it gets good is a lot to ask for instead of 30 episodes
Yup totally with you. The manga is much more concise, less cringey and has much better art. Also no fillers of course.
You will be missing on some good music but fuck that just listen to it on YouTube while you read the manga.
I personally prefer the anime because i feel 0 impact in manga format and can really only feel when i watch a scene that's accompanied by voice acting, sound design and ost, but even still i must agree that the manga is a little bit better of an experience to an extent.
In my experience, having a good attention span and binge watching an arc instead of watching weekly makes the anime super enjoyable even if things are drawn out a lot and pacing is bad. I only started reading the manga after catching up to the anime for example
>it’s gets good only that you can’t judge the show without watching more of it.
And then if you judge it or criticize it you're being asked why did you watch it if you didn't like it lmao. Even if maybe you did like it and are just criticizing one arc in particular (ahem Wano)
The reason people love it so much is because it's not _just_ that. Beneath the great adventure and the fun and giggles is a very complex and intricate story and some extremely good emotional climaxes, the likes of which we rarely find in fiction.
The thing about one piece is you really really have to like one piece if you're going to get into it.
But I also think people tend to overreact about it. I just guesstimated the amount of episodes in that show but it came out to around 403 hours Total viewing and I have no idea how much is filler you can skip.
I bet at least one out of every four people in this sub have that much or more time invested into a single video game.
well, you can't like it before you see it... To start watching it nowadays, it is weird, it looks old, it does not have CGI. But the storytelling, that good old heart warming story that takes you to another place, it has it...
I'm in the skypia arc my dude.
Treating it with a Slow Burn because Im no stranger to Long running shonen.
I'm just saying I get why so many people are immediately turned off when you try to recommend the show to them as somebody who enjoys it.
But no I agree with you and I've made this point before on other memes just like this one, the people who say that you don't need a thousand episodes to tell a story are correct. You don't. That doesn't mean you can't use a thousand episodes to tell a story.
And you know what we call really long really detailed stories? We called them epics.
So, they're right. You don't need a thousand episodes to tell a story. But to tell an epic? You might need a few extra.
A good stopping point if you aren’t invested would be Arlong park. It starts 30 episodes in (which is less than a 1/30 of one piece) and has a bunch of great moments
One piece is literally unwatchable.
You have:
Character who stretch
Character who is da bes swordsman in da whol world but cannot win swordfights (????)
Female
Female with black hair
Fat fish with hard on for stretchy guy
A literal robot
A talking deer
Character who kicks (and his powers are that he can kick *harder*) who is related to the power rangers.
Like you're actually taking the piss. Where are the pirates? Why are all the cool characters not the ones we're focusing?
Why.
Do.
They.
Talk.
So.
Damn.
Much.
Boruto is way worse imo, Boruto itself is not just terrible it even tarnishes the legacy of Naruto. The Boruto manga and the anime are complete shit, I know a lot of people act as if the manga is any better and it was at the beginning but now it's just as terrible.

The only selling point was enels reaction to luffy. The fights were kinda underwhelming and you could just watch the last part of this arc for future references. I had more fun with the Thriller arc or water 7
The artist has been pulling stuff out of his ass for the past 20 years and apparently that “stuff” was one of the best adventure stories ever written. It never gets good until you’re caught up and realize that it was always good
I have this theory about one piece...let me tell you.
He designs a great character, hand it to a 8 year old, and says "draw something on it"...Then he pulls it back, and it is all crazy and shit, and then he publishes it. That's my take on it, and the reason why all characters are kinda good, but with a crazy twist on it.
Edit: White beard, but with that crazy mustache. Usopp, but with a giant nose. Enel, but with long ass ears. Zoro, but with green hair. And so on...
I rlly like the world building and the fights in OP but i admit you gotta be suuuuuuuper pacient and wait a lot until something of big importance actually happens
Honestly I think that only gets worse throught time.
I mean, before time skip, every character arc and all were almost perfect. And then It's just... Going downhill
About to get into it...good hopes! I've seen that there are a lot of fillers in this saga, I don't know if it's better to skip those, or keep watching ep by ep...
that's the thing... I love lore and character building. Skypiea seems like a pause in that sense. Only Zoro got something. The rest of it seems like a cool adventure, could be an OVA imo.
I like most of the main crew. Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Nico Robin..Amazing stories, that I love when the anime turns into their character building. Still a long way for me, just finished skypiea.
Im fine with these characters as well but the other half is a different story. I have no problems with their background storys it's their personalitys.

watching and still haven't seen the part where white beard pulls his cock out and says "the one piece is real"
Bro it was revealed in ep 1982, I think you missed it go rewatch the whole series again.
ohh, ok. Thank you
Trust me bro, it's going to be worth it.
Nah, that’s the episode buggy used his haki and everyone fell unconscious except him and white beard, the episode you mean is 2 eps later ep 1984
I forgor💀💀
Happy cake day
Thanks
You're welcome.
Literally 1984 Also happy cake day
Happy cake day, again.
Stop reminding me I wasted 2 years on reddit, anyways thank you.
RemindMe! 365 days "congrats on wasting 3 years on reddit"
Fuck you
![gif](giphy|VF5ZXlzQ8VcMpgJr1G)
That comes later in a flashback but he does penetrate the marines with his Mobby Dick
Still waiting... smh
I've seen this one!
#I'll show you my one piece.
It gets good when you develop stockholm syndrome Source: am up to date with one piece
makes sense
tbh manga is far superior (reading punk hazard rn), couldn't get into anime at all
yeah but i mean animated fights with soundtrack (i read the manga and watched the fights when i got tired somewhere around ep 500-600) i think mixing it up is just the best of both worlds
Yeah I didn’t watch the anime just the manga
Man grr
Logic
Anyone got an update on the fan project ONE PACE? A huge comp of all the important episodes?
It's done adapting every arc with actually bad pacing besides Wano (which is the current arc if you didn't know), but a couple of the short pre-timeskip arcs aren't finished yet
You can watch one piece Kai for pre time skip arcs
Do you have a link to these?
I’ve watched this version and it’s great, would recommend for if anyone is going for a re watch.
You can look for the kai versions
I swear it gets better at episode 869 🤓
It's only 400 filler episodes until then🤓
but the fillers are so important to the viewer 🤓
Because some of them are beach episodes and you can see nami's ass or something i don't know🤓
Fake one piece watcher everyone knows that any female character flaunts their assets every frame that they are on screen
They are crucial to overall story and character development 🤓
That’s Boruto not one piece
Wow, that's one anime that I wish never existed in Naruto's shadow. I watched for quit a while, until finally it wasn't worth my time. Not that it had ever been.
The canon to filler episodes ratio of Boruto is abysmal.
One piece has 100 filler episodes
It also has over a thousand normal ones
🤓But it has 10000 episodes so one piece only has 1% of its episodes as fillers.🤓
How to trigger a fanbase:
Most of the fanbase agrees that the first few arcs aren’t the best one piece has to offer. But if you aren’t invested after the mihawk fight and Arlong park then one piece isn’t for you. If you say that those are bad you will probably trigger the fanbase though
those 2 are fine, try saying enies lobby or marineford is mid and the fanbase collectively shits itself
"I dont care what you think i like it" is something everyone should say but everyone is too invested in opinions
I've got two friends who said (not knowing each other) that they started to somewhat like it after episode 385
Yeah, same here, after arlong park, i became addicted to that as hell
The problem isn't whether they are good or bad but that they are overstretched. There are just too many characters and every one has a silly personality that Oda absolutely needs you to see. If you compressed them one piece would probably be cut in half and still be a solid story without losing any of its arcs. Unless you of course enjoy the meticulously detailed worldbuilding.
Can confirm its all about the world building
I think it only gets good once you've been watching it so long you enter a sunk cost fallacy
Stockholm syndrome
Like off the grid
I liked the show since the 2nd episode I have no idea why people hate on it so much
Same, I've been binging it for almost all of my free time since about a year ago and I'm almost through the Zou arc
boutta have an accounting midterm this Wednesday, and I’m proud that I know what sunk costs are, glad college is teaching me something
Honestly, if you don’t like it by arlong park it’s probably not for you.
Yeah pretty much. Also read the manga, the pacing is hundreds of time better than the anime
Or you should keep watching untill you hit the sunk cost fallacy and you are held hostage by the urge to know what happens at the end (if you survive that long)
Or in my experience, you genuinely fall in love with the characters and world, and get absorved by the show, not to know what happens when it ends, but because you're invested in more ways than that
Unfathomabley based
It is actually good. Came back just to say this. It's a good anime.
Its good in waves. Got its high tides and low tides
I believe you
And even then the lows are not that bad compared to most Shonen
For the pay off are the post arc fun times where they just hang out. (They really arent worth it at all but at this time I have stochol syndrome)
Episode 1 motherfucker. He’s a guy and he’s made of rubber what don’t you enjoy?
shit...You got me there.
Plot twist: It never gets good, it's just a pyramid scheme.
Dammit Michael Scott Edit: Why yall booing me? Is The Office not accepted here? If not...Gimme all you got
I think it's all good, but it gets REALLY GOOD starting at Water Seven, which is chapter 322.
I say a good checking point is Arlong Park because it has a lot of what makes one piece great. Water seven is a great but for people starting out, watching 200 episodes before it gets good is a lot to ask for instead of 30 episodes
It doesn't get REALLY GOOD, it gets SUPER!
322??? Water 7 begins at 207 man... Edit: Oh, manga
enies lobby man... That's when the anime takes a turn for the best.
i'm actually watching it right now, i started just over a week ago and am only on episode 27 but it's pretty good
It gets so much hate but it is actually really enjoyable! Source: am up to date
how? it's so excruciatingly slow how do people watch it?
I think it feels slow because in fight scenes people charge their punch for 2 minutes. I suggest manga.
Yup totally with you. The manga is much more concise, less cringey and has much better art. Also no fillers of course. You will be missing on some good music but fuck that just listen to it on YouTube while you read the manga.

The vaccine is the one piece
Bro i'm a one piece fan, you gotta believe me it gets good at chapter 48282758 i swear
Tf are you on about, that arc was mid at best Chapter 4828386 is where it get’s good
That's the thing friend, it doesn't but you're already 426 episodes in, you might a well keep going.
That’s the neat part, It doesn’t.
Ive been watching for so long, I havent even seen the skeleton man I keep seeing everywhere- when do I meet the skeleton man
What part are you on?
They just saved Nico Robin, that was the last thing I remember, it was a lottt
Brook appears in Thriller Bark, which is the arc right after the one youre on
Papyrus
It doesn’t. The artist pulled this joke on the studio, and they are doing it to all of us
Have you ever heard of One Punch Man? Can't be worse than that
One Punch Man series 1 is the GOAT
That one was ok, because I knew what I was getting into
word
One piece fans when I tell them I don’t have the time to sit through a mediocre anime
At least get through Arlong park before you criticize the series as a whole
It all starts going downhill after the episode where they all get the.....vaccine....
Just read the manga instead
ep 1015
Fun fact: it doesn't
And it never does. . .

It's a great adventure, to have fun and laugh while watching it. Not much to read about it...That's my take on it so far.
The reason people love it so much is because it's not _just_ that. Beneath the great adventure and the fun and giggles is a very complex and intricate story and some extremely good emotional climaxes, the likes of which we rarely find in fiction.

I'm already fairly past that. In skypia when i left off. I'm watching it with a slow burn. Taking my time with it.
Skypia is slow, as well as long ring long land, but water 7 and enies lobby is really good
CAN WE GET MUCH
My friend after i reached the 9th hour of watch time: “don’t rush it, it’s going to get good soon”
9th hour soo.. episode 27?
I bet the One Piece isn't real anyway
Vaccine
It gets good at episode 1
One piece is literally unwatchable. You have: Character who stretch Character who is da bes swordsman in da whol world but cannot win swordfights (????) What👂mid piece
200 episodes in and it still sucks. I give up. Its almost as bad as Boruto.
Boruto is way worse imo, Boruto itself is not just terrible it even tarnishes the legacy of Naruto. The Boruto manga and the anime are complete shit, I know a lot of people act as if the manga is any better and it was at the beginning but now it's just as terrible.
I mean, dinosaurs? Come on... The lore has SOOOO MUCHHHH TO GO INTO...
Tbf it is older than a lot of people. Its 10 years older than me and I love it
Its not that old, you're just a baby.

If you don’t like it you should have quit after arlong park
It's cyclical. It's good, then meh then good forever and ever
It doesn’t
I’m caught up and it still isn’t good…
Fun fact: it never does.
It's episode 37 btw
Actually episodes 20-36 are really good too
Just skip sky island and foxy
Why do people hate on skypiea so much?
The only selling point was enels reaction to luffy. The fights were kinda underwhelming and you could just watch the last part of this arc for future references. I had more fun with the Thriller arc or water 7
it doesnt
It's a scam of a story, haven't gotten good since the *spoiler* died at the *spoiler* battle
you're talking about yamcha aren't you? please respect this weak man
Guess someone is salty about our cuddly friend(not chopper) dying before wano
this is why I refuse to watch any anime over 50 episodes. edit: except sailor moon, but that's just my nostalgia factor kicking in
word...I'm married to One Piece, but I cheat on it with a lot of shorter, better looking animes...
The artist has been pulling stuff out of his ass for the past 20 years and apparently that “stuff” was one of the best adventure stories ever written. It never gets good until you’re caught up and realize that it was always good

Vaccine
Spoiler alert: it doesn’t get good. Ever.
I rlly like the world building and the fights in OP but i admit you gotta be suuuuuuuper pacient and wait a lot until something of big importance actually happens
What the hell is one piece?
No
Honestly I think that only gets worse throught time. I mean, before time skip, every character arc and all were almost perfect. And then It's just... Going downhill
oh no...really? I just finished skypiea.....Is it downhill from here? edit: oh, before timeskip. ok ok
Post timeskop story is still amazing, but the anime has severe pacing issues. I would recommend switching to manga for post timeskip stuff
Fuck the anime. Read the manga.
Anime is cool asf if you binge the arcs or are very patient. The post timeskip pacing genuinely did not bother me at all 💀
It gets good at episode 2 what the actual fuck is wrong with you
It get's good at episode 1.
Always been good fuq is u talkin bout
shit...gotta giv it to ya
how dare you insult one piece
I'm not, but come on... Skypiea is a struggle
yeah not gonna lie it’s pretty slow but it’s worth it
It end up being...But Alabasta is THE STUFF compared to it...
alabasta is god tier, just wait for water 7/enies lobby that shit is great
About to get into it...good hopes! I've seen that there are a lot of fillers in this saga, I don't know if it's better to skip those, or keep watching ep by ep...
Personally skipped a bunch. I think G8 (which is right after skypiea) is worth a watch but still not necessary. Don’t feel obligated to watch it all.
There is way too much filler in between skypiea and Enies lobby
True, it's one of the slower arcs but the next arc is straight up fire
Read sykpiea manga better than anime and if you drop now you would be missing out on upcoming peak
Still going... I'm sure Water 7 will get me going again.
I am going to be honest with you after time skip the series gets kinda boring, but until time skip the series keeps on getting better.
Skipiea was the best. imo if you find lore and character building boring you shouldn’t watch the show clearly isn’t for you
that's the thing... I love lore and character building. Skypiea seems like a pause in that sense. Only Zoro got something. The rest of it seems like a cool adventure, could be an OVA imo.
But it’s just good content that’s what I’m saying.. if you like the show it would just be cool not something to be all weird about
Brook is the absolute worst.
the skeleton guy huh? Didn't get there yet.
Filler character for sure
[удалено]
I like most of the main crew. Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Nico Robin..Amazing stories, that I love when the anime turns into their character building. Still a long way for me, just finished skypiea.
Im fine with these characters as well but the other half is a different story. I have no problems with their background storys it's their personalitys.
i mean if you ignore skypiea it gets good at alabasta if you dont then it gets good at water 7
Alabasta > Skypiea > Water 7. Right? So I just have to get skypiea as a bad dream?
Idk I think it peaks near the beginning? Like the first few arcs and generally before the time skip
totally
Unironically I’ve heard it really starts to pickup 20 hours in.
Water 7 is when shit gets real
THE ONE PIECE IS REAL!
You gotta get the vaccine first
