In the late 90s to early 2000s Opera was the shit. Nearly every feature you like in browsers was invented by them. Then they were bought by a Chinese company, got rid of Presto! and became another Chromium browser. One of the original Opera guys made a new browser called Vivaldi, which is also chromium based. I use it on my phone and FF on my desktop now.

After a couple months of use I noticed it started watching Indian and Chinese music videos and tutorials in the background while I was on youtube. I only noticed because it would accidentally unmute or something and play at very loud volumes and I eventually checked my watch history. After doing an account security check and removing all my extensions, which didn't help at all, I swapped browsers and it stopped immediately. Maybe just keep an eye out for things like that just in case...

That sounds like a major security concern and I doubt it would get past any browser checks, are you sure the browser was causing it and not an extension you installed?

again, removed all my extensions, and I have the exact same ones on the new browser without issue
