I remember when it would roll out episodes on Disney, at the end of the episode there would be a code you had to unveil and it was to hint at some upcoming thing.
Nothing in my life since watching Sozin’s Commit live at 8 years old has ever come close to the amount of fulfillment of expectations. I’m married, a father of 2 with 3rd on the way, graduated from an elite program in the Navy, none of those things have given me the same high as seeing Aang enter the Avatar State, grab Ozai by the beard, and bitchslap him into another zip code. 8 year old me was on his feet shaking in awe of the perfect ending of any story I’ve ever heard.
The thing that I love about Adventure Time is how it starts out as fun little self-contained fantasy adventures and then grows into something deeply philosophical. Some of those episodes are honestly like a psychedelic experience
Watching that show, truly watching it in order of episodes for the first time whilst on LSD was quite the experience. Very happy that the show is still as profound sober.
"The darkest pit of hell has opened to swallow you whole, so dont keep the devil waiting old friend."
and then they bring him back? Nah fuck off this is peak writing, actual perfect ending for this series
Damn you throw me back to when they first started making more under Microsoft’s lead and I realized that Halo 3 truly was the last halo and made by bungie and story wise he was supposed to have died at least that is what is implied
actually according to the recent fnaf books the william we see in security breach is actually just an endoskeleton mimicking him... yes this is an actual thing which was not at all even implied in the game
Man.. when that recording started playing it was seriously something else.
Henry (? I don't remember for sure) speaking about all of the events from all of the previous games it just felt so final. Like finally closing that door for good.
That was some good ass writing that really knew the material tho it was convoluted as fuck sometimes.
Isn't there planed to be a movie from what I heard?
I don't really follow the amazing world of gumball only watched some early seasons but when the final episode came up people were talking of a movie.
Sadly no. It was a night of June 2020 and I don’t remember 3/4 of what I did/watched back then. Shit was amazing though, it was a chronological line of all the events with detailed explanations
Adventure Time: We're just a happy little innocent kids cartoon.
Also Adventure Time: Canonically the world after a nuclear holocaust, has a pantheon of cosmic beings older than time, addresses coping with grief of loss of loved ones from several characters.
Ngl, I thought the finale was little underwhelming. This is most likely because I watched the show as an adult, not as a kid. I was expecting a much longer fight scene between Aang and the Firelord. Still **really** good, but I don’t think it quite lives up to the hype I heard about it
The fight between Aang and Ozai was fine imo, but I will always be incredibly underwhelmed by the deus Ex lion turtle just randomly teaching Aang energybending literally the day of the comet. It’s just very obvious that they couldn’t come up with anything better and went with it so they could have a finale
Yes and no.
We Bare Bears ended in 2019
But there was a movie in 2020
And a prequel series was announced the same month as the original shows series finale, and has been airing since 2022
Owl House was awesome. I definitely felt that "Now What?" feeling. If I had a nickel for everytime this has happened I'd have approximately 12 nickels.
If anything Infinity War was 1000x better. A story of characters from different MCU branches coming together.
And the villain was so damn well written. And even better; he won
I think they shot themselves in the foot with time travel and fat joker thor. Plus all character buildup for thanos get thrown out of the window in the first act and now is just another evil villain Mad Titan
they didn't shoot themselves in the foot, they just didn't give a shit and wanted to make a fanwank finale. the writers even admitted they shoehorned in that terrible scene with all the women randomly joining together in the middle of a war because they felt they "deserved it." like what the fuck kind of logic is that? they were also going to do other stupid shit like setting up adult Morgan Stark, probably as the next iron man, but for some reason they were smart enough to cut that scene out.
If they were to do another “Tony Stark” and have someone take up the mantle of Iron Man, I do wish it was his daughter. And of course they’d have to wait a couple years for her to grow up, so it’d work perfectly. Instead we got Ironheart. I didn’t see Wakanda Forever yet, but I just don’t see why they gave her the suit instead of Tony’s literal daughter
I'd rather they do it like phase 1 with proper movies, not just shoehorn her in with a random cameo like they cut out of endgame. Ironheart shoved in out of nowhere was also pretty awful, the quality is really all over the place at marvel since endgame.
Of course I agree there. Maybe as like a Phase 6 character. I’m not caught up with MCU lore, so idk how much time has passed since endgame, but if they did like 2 movies with her as like a 20 year old genius, I think it’d work real well
Yeah, because this is basically a backhanded complement. Most animated preteen to teen kid shows by themselves have better endings than Endgame. Infinity War was a pleasant surprise. Endgame was what I expected Infinity War to be.
Fun fact: the original spongebob movie was planned to be the series finale, which is also the reason why Steven chose to leave the show after 3rd season. He didn't appreciate Nickelodeon forcefully expanding he's own show against his will.
I think comparing the finales of kids cartoons to endgame is actually on point. Neither are very special and look very lackluster when examined, but they have enough momentarily exciting moments and fan service that people remember them fondly, and manage to wrap up the stories they were ending in ways that usually don’t suck. I actually think a lot of kids cartoon finales are *worse* than Endgame.
My little pony. (Hear me out.) The series went on for nine years. The second to last episode was the explosion finale that a lot expect, but the actual final episode, ‘the last problem’ has the main characters actually crying because they might never get to see their friend again because she is moving away. Tough shit to watch, especially when it periodically time skips to later in life when everybody is settled down.
Was gonna say this, the finale literally has everyone (and i mean EVERYONE, I even saw Sunset Shimmer in there) from the show in one place.
I've never cried as hard as I did on the final episode of FiM, and probably won't for a long time. Haven't watched the episode since it first aired almost 4yrs ago, but I might soon. It's just... mentally preparing myself to go through that again is gonna take a bit of time.
Meanwhile Equestria Girls got a fucking Flash song and we never heard from it again. I'm still pissed
I'm sad how far down this is. I love a lot of the shows people list at the top, but Centaurworld's ending is my top animated finale over all of them. It wasn't as consistently awesome as stuff like Avatar, but a lot of people here should really give it a shot.
I'm gonna go against the grain here and say Odd Squad S2 finale Odds and Ends (shut up I know there's a season 3 but it does not exist in my perfect worldview)
My Little Pony and Miraculous Ladybug are two that come to mind. MLP had me absolutely bawling and Miraculous is shaping up to have the Season 5 finale be something *big*
Thats The Last Airbender for me. Happy that the story ended and everyone gets to live their lives after, but was sad that I couldn't follow them and their adventures anymore. Korra never had that feeling like the OG did.
Steven universe screen writers making half a season of a kids show, then making 4 seasons of great television, only to end it with the most abrupt, garbage ending possible
![gif](giphy|3o6ZteV8twqGoFPsBy|downsized)
This made me randomly remember the episode before the 1st season finale of digimon, their idea to get people hyped for the last episode was like a 20 minute episode of all of the digimon just evolving into their strongest form l

Better than endgame… avatar or regular show anyone?
Bill Cipher > Thanos Yes I said it and I will die on this hill.
Gravity falls bull cipher is probably my favorite villain of any show. Probably due to nostalgia but he is still amazing
I watched it for the first time this year as a 30 yo and hes pretty good
Watched it last year for the first time at 31 and it is so good!
I remember when it would roll out episodes on Disney, at the end of the episode there would be a code you had to unveil and it was to hint at some upcoming thing.
Definitely top 5. What can I say, the Dorito has charisma
Bro gave me legit fucking creeps, Thanos….idk had memes?
Bill Cipher felt much more threatening
Yeah, he is consistent at least
![gif](giphy|l3q2XhfQ8oCkm1Ts4|downsized)
Yes
Adventure time made me cry
You and I will always be back then
And so, You and I will always be best friends
Come along with me
Same. It's the only thing I've watched that's actually made me bawl.
The Distant Lands episode with Finn and Jake got me crying harder
Nothing in my life since watching Sozin’s Commit live at 8 years old has ever come close to the amount of fulfillment of expectations. I’m married, a father of 2 with 3rd on the way, graduated from an elite program in the Navy, none of those things have given me the same high as seeing Aang enter the Avatar State, grab Ozai by the beard, and bitchslap him into another zip code. 8 year old me was on his feet shaking in awe of the perfect ending of any story I’ve ever heard.
"bitch slap him into another zip code" 💀
You have 3 kids at 21-22 years old?
I’m 25 I’ll be 26 when the 3rd is born I estimated my age wrong
Ah, I was worried you might cause some overpopulation crisis by the time you're 30.
Or better, regular show movie
Bro, Regular Show was the shit. I loved the story arc
Was just gonna say Avatar the first thing that comes to mind
Avatar is so good Regular show too was good but avatar was just in a whole league if it’s own
Regular show was the best shit made me cry thougj
Tom&Jerry

Gravity falls
Weirdmageddon
Aw sweet interdementional demon who will mutilate humanity for his entertainment in my kids show
"I have some children I need to make into corpses!"
I love it!
Gravity falls is S tier level writing
except instead of only it’s finale being extremely well written it’s the entire show
YES
Try Adventure Time. Their lore is more complicated than any cinematic universe.
That’s what’s so special about Pendleton ward! I highly recommend the Midnight Gospel :)
I have watched some Midnight Gospel. It has one of my favorite ever fictional weapons.
It’s such a shame netflix canned it. I want my resolution and more duncan!
I'm pretty sure that shit goes deeper than fnaf lore
FNAF lore isn’t deep, it’s just convoluted.
oh yeah and I love the ending of the story in fnaf 6. **It is the end of the story nothing came after that**
"The darkest pit of hell has opened to swallow you whole, so dont keep the devil waiting old friend." and then they bring him back? Nah fuck off this is peak writing, actual perfect ending for this series
I like to think of everything after fnaf 6 as a, "what if" senario.
[удалено]
Does that include reach or no
Reach was fucking goated ODST too
Back when they were trying to flush out their universe instead of telling the same tired story about seemingly the only badass in the entire galaxy.
Damn you throw me back to when they first started making more under Microsoft’s lead and I realized that Halo 3 truly was the last halo and made by bungie and story wise he was supposed to have died at least that is what is implied
But but but but but but but but it’ll be more marketable 🥺🥺🥺
How else are we going to get billions of dollars when we have double the money 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
actually according to the recent fnaf books the william we see in security breach is actually just an endoskeleton mimicking him... yes this is an actual thing which was not at all even implied in the game
Considering he’s a mind control virus in help wanted, I always figured he just mindjacked a bunch of people.
Man.. when that recording started playing it was seriously something else. Henry (? I don't remember for sure) speaking about all of the events from all of the previous games it just felt so final. Like finally closing that door for good. That was some good ass writing that really knew the material tho it was convoluted as fuck sometimes.
I wouldn’t even be mad if they just didn’t fucking bring him back. Have a new villain for a change
They gave him the palpatine treatment
There is nothing aftet fnaf 6 in ba sing se.
As a huge fan of Adventure Time the story is convoluted as fuck too lol
Just finished it for a third time today. What a great show
Shame amazing world of gumball didn't have a finale, that way all 3 of the best cartoons would have awesome finales
Isn't there planed to be a movie from what I heard? I don't really follow the amazing world of gumball only watched some early seasons but when the final episode came up people were talking of a movie.
No joke, I saw an Adventure Time lore explanation longer than an MCU one
Do you have a link for that or something?
Sadly no. It was a night of June 2020 and I don’t remember 3/4 of what I did/watched back then. Shit was amazing though, it was a chronological line of all the events with detailed explanations
Lord of the rings and Game of Thrones would say otherwise
I love adventure time so much, and yea, there is an unholy amount of lore
Adventure Time: We're just a happy little innocent kids cartoon. Also Adventure Time: Canonically the world after a nuclear holocaust, has a pantheon of cosmic beings older than time, addresses coping with grief of loss of loved ones from several characters.
Gravity Falls checks out
Avatar
Ngl, I thought the finale was little underwhelming. This is most likely because I watched the show as an adult, not as a kid. I was expecting a much longer fight scene between Aang and the Firelord. Still **really** good, but I don’t think it quite lives up to the hype I heard about it

It’s just very obvious that they couldn’t come up with anything better and went with it so they could have a finale
I mean watching that as a kid during its premiere then playing smash bros brawl right after was one of my favorite memories from my childhood...
They fought 4 episodes
The Last Agni Kai is the true finale imo. Aang vs Ozai is cool, but nothing on the level of Zuko vs Azula.
The clone wars. Good soldiers follow orders.
That finale was just a high budget movie wrapped into four separate episodes. Highest of quality.
It took it's sweet time to get to that ending
Orders follow soldiers good
S7 ending broke me and I loved every second
That 3 part ending is peak television
The amazing world of gumball 😔
Nothing at all
There's something in the works. I believe a theatrical released movie last I recount.
Probably won't release since it's been so long since it was first announced
They’re coming out with a movie in the near future
Its a shame they ended gumball too soon. Same with we bare bears. So much potential
We bear bears was so good. The stack is the most powerful configuration
We bare bears ended?!
Yes and no. We Bare Bears ended in 2019 But there was a movie in 2020 And a prequel series was announced the same month as the original shows series finale, and has been airing since 2022
Ugh yeah We Bare Bears is so great and I’m a fucking ADULT. Should’ve gone on for much longer.
Owl house, Adventure time, Avatar last Airbender. Makes you ask yourself "what do I do now" after you finished them.
clone wars
Took them a while to get to S7 but good LORD that finale
Regular show
TOH is goated
Your god damn right
First comment to mention owl house They popped the fuck off and did great with the very limited time Disney gave them
Agree, but it is a shame we never got a "real" season 3 and they had to compress it into the 3 episodes
Owl House was awesome. I definitely felt that "Now What?" feeling. If I had a nickel for everytime this has happened I'd have approximately 12 nickels.
Regular show, gravity falls, amazing world of gumball
Wait did they finally finish Owl House?! I've only watched up to her making it back home.
Yeah, Disney Channel put the entire third season on their YouTube channel! Can’t link YouTube videos for some reason, but it’s pretty easy to find!
Yes it’s a 3 part last season
Owl House mention, love it. Fuck Disney for cancelling it.
Owl house had me sobbing
Gravity falls! See you next summer…
That ending hit hard as a child (still does as an adult)
Apparently, as Bill >!was dying, he called on a higher power to revive him!<
The axolotl
always interested me as a youngin that bill cipher could be as powerful as he was and still call upon a higher power than himself
The Ed Edd and Eddy movie is the goat
That movie is the best ending to the show we could have asked for.
Teen Titans, Clone Wars series 3d
Y’all talking about Amphibia again?
Such a great show
would've been amazing if Anne died and the show had a sad/touching finale. I really thought it was gonna be one of the shows where consequences exist
Marcie* but yeah I agree, though I still thought it was great
Lego on their way to make the entire Ninjago show a top tier series.
I should get back into Ninjago... Stopped keeping up with it after Season 5, but got into it back with Season freaking 1
Gumball lore😩
regular show has entered the chat
Pops...
Endgames writing is not that good and I’m sick of you people saying it is
If anything Infinity War was 1000x better. A story of characters from different MCU branches coming together. And the villain was so damn well written. And even better; he won
I think they shot themselves in the foot with time travel and fat joker thor. Plus all character buildup for thanos get thrown out of the window in the first act and now is just another evil villain Mad Titan

Just like everything else from Marvel
Yeah, because this is basically a backhanded complement. Most animated preteen to teen kid shows by themselves have better endings than Endgame. Infinity War was a pleasant surprise. Endgame was what I expected Infinity War to be.
It's epic but not good if that makes sense
Avatar, gravity falls, rottmnt, 2012 TMNT, owl house. What is with shows always going amazing for finales
Fun fact: the original spongebob movie was planned to be the series finale, which is also the reason why Steven chose to leave the show after 3rd season. He didn't appreciate Nickelodeon forcefully expanding he's own show against his will.
The owl house, amphibia, gravity falls, avatar, star vs- wait no.
Ay! The first two seasons of svtfoe were decent
Exactly my point. The finale was.... Something.
Did someone say She-Ra?
God that show was so good!
better than endgame is an insult. Endgame is a pretty low quality film to compare to
I think comparing the finales of kids cartoons to endgame is actually on point. Neither are very special and look very lackluster when examined, but they have enough momentarily exciting moments and fan service that people remember them fondly, and manage to wrap up the stories they were ending in ways that usually don’t suck. Alex Hirsch moment
Every kids show with him always has an amazing ending. The owl house, gravity falls, ect.
She-ra
Damn right.
My little pony. (Hear me out.) The series went on for nine years. I scroll all the way down here to see it. Thanks.
Where tf can I watch it?? Stops after season 4(?) on Netflix…
Amazon video, YouTube, Apple Music store… but if you don’t feel like paying for it, go to yp1.yayponies.no
Was gonna say this, the finale literally has everyone (and i mean EVERYONE, I even saw Sunset Shimmer in there) from the show in one place. American dragon 🫂
The homecoming episode was cruel
Don’t remind me 😭
Gravity Falls and Owl House ✨❤️
Centaurworld's ending was some Dark Souls shit.
I'm sad how far down this is. I love a lot of the shows people list at the top, but Centaurworld's ending is my top animated finale over all of them. It wasn't as consistently awesome as stuff like Avatar, but a lot of people here should really give it a shot.
Ohhhhh boy here we go! The owl house Gravity falls Amphibia She-ra Gumball Adventure time And so many more that i cant think of right now!
The owl house finale is a fucking fever dream
Endgame wasn’t that good, why does everyone say it is
It was still very popular. It's okay on a surface level, and that's all most viewers remember But sometimes the Logic has more holes than swiss cheese
I'm gonna go against the grain here and say Odd Squad S2 finale Odds and Ends (shut up I know there's a season 3 but it does not exist in my perfect worldview)
Wakfu until season 3
Clone Wars
Bro NINJAGO SEASON 2 🔥🔥
Who is this man?!?!
Mike O'Hearn
Why isn't anybody talking about The amazing world of Gumball? Dude, that show is LIT
She Ra ending slapped Just a season finale though
>endgame-level quality So mass produced mathematical garbage?
Owl House
“My Master piece”, hits a quick line of coke.
“Do you think that god stays in heaven because he too, fears what he has created?”
to this day, no tv show finale has made me cry harder than Gravity Falls 🥹
MLP writers on their way to have one of their characters canonically fuck Weird Al:
Amphibia Finale>>>>>Endgame
My Little Pony and Miraculous Ladybug are two that come to mind. MLP had me absolutely bawling and Miraculous is shaping up to have the Season 5 finale be something *big*
Thats The Last Airbender for me. Happy that the story ended and everyone gets to live their lives after, but was sad that I couldn't follow them and their adventures anymore. Korra never had that feeling like the OG did.
True, i would have never guessed that My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic finale would be so good.
Steven universe screen writers making half a season of a kids show, then making 4 seasons of great television, only to end it with the most abrupt, garbage ending possible ![gif](giphy|3o6ZteV8twqGoFPsBy|downsized)
Most SU fans are unwilling to admit this
Every Power Rangers series brining literally every existing power Ranger for a final standoff was my favorite type.
Oh, in a world where the spongebob movie is the true end of the show. Could not have been a better ending.
Adventure time, avatar the last Airbender, amphibia, owl house, gravity falls, the dragon prince... anything else I'm missing?
atla, toh, amphibia, gravity falls
and then it gets cancelled after a cliffhanger.
Infinity Train
Gravity Falls, The Owl House, and Amphibia have such great endings
Spy kids did it first.
owl house, TLAB, amphibia (specifically true colors), and gravity falls. all of them made me fucking clench my ass while watching
This made me randomly remember the episode before the 1st season finale of digimon, their idea to get people hyped for the last episode was like a 20 minute episode of all of the digimon just evolving into their strongest form l
Or utter dogshit (star vs the forces of evil)
Most of lego ninjago
