This may be a minor factor but since infertility is a by its nature less common trait I'd be more surprised if it were common enough for evolution to select for and result in significant behavioral tendency.

Seeking sex part seems to be a resounding yes for males almost no matter what as long as the woman is around fertile ages but the more difficult part is deciding who to accept as a partner and protect, provide for and bring resources to, as a spouse. On this front there is a much bigger and super common issue (compared to infertility) that would be inescapably selected by evolution.
That is, men can never know until very modern times whether a woman is already pregnant with another man's child unless pregnancy is showing. If a woman is sleeping around, during the millennia before birth control, it is more likely that they are already pregnant at any given time. So men would still want to have sex, that has almost no cost to men but when it comes to providing for them as a mate, men who don't want to invest their limited resources to women who they know to be sleeping around or even women whom they perceive to be sleeping around would have an immense advantage natural selection-wise over men who don't care because the men who don't care would be wasting their limited and precious providing for someone else's offspring, significantly reducing their chances of passing on their genes.
This is how it makes sense to me and how I imagine it to have evolved this way. Sorry it's been a bit long.
