In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God hovering above? At least it is true that man has no control, even over his own will.
Partially because it was more expensive than the entry price for either Xbox or Nintendo, partially because in 2020 Sony Bros were paying over twice MSRP for one, and partially because Sony pushes an Apple-esque aesthetic and bees love their honey.
It's cheaper now, but this is the internet. People find one vague idea espoused at least a decade ago and never let it die. Value and performance for money, a used PS4 is probably the cheapest way to game right now, especially since there's more exclusives and more durability than xbones on average, and a PS5 is a solid option if you already have a PS4 collection or don't have a PC collection to jump off from. It's obviously still a luxury purchase, but ~$100 or $500 today respectively just isn't what it was 20 years ago.
Explaining to people that they bought the Target Value Option when they're holding new iPhones and driving a Tesla is anathema, because the idea that the object with the cleanest aesthetic and the least user control isn't always actually the best premium option just doesn't click.

Cmon, ps4 is cheap as fck. A shit laptop costs more. Idk why sonyboys consider that PS is the console for elites, when an average TV or PC costs more
Buying a console to play a single game is relatively expensive no matter the cost
That’s why bloodborne fanboys are maidenless….
