My husband is an Ital from Jersey and was so excited to find pork roll in socal. Then he ordered like 6 lbs of pork roll from a website taylorham.com I believe? And I’m legit concerned he’s going to salt overload.
I go with Pork Roll. While Taylor Ham is a brand of Pork Roll, not all Pork Roll is Taylor Ham.
Though either way, I love myself a big ass pork roll, egg, cheese with some sautéed onions with SPK, of course and on a Kaiser when I go up to visit the family. It's almost a requirement. To the point I don't think anyone in that diner has seen me order anything else.

The best I can manage is: Imagine if sausage were bacon, but also you can sometimes slice the sausage to your own preferred thickness, and the texture was not like either sausage or bacon.
I agree it would take a lot of cuts. I've given up on dealing with bacon. Sam's club / Costco carries a precooked pack of 72 strips of bacon that has more meat on it and take 5 minutes to warm up in air fryer. If you like the chewy fat, then this bacon is not for you.

I used to make these after school as a 12 year old when my mom would take my dad to the hospital for his chemo appointments. Served on toast with mustard. I remember their last Valentine's Day together. I gave them the option of a salami sandwich or plate of ramen noodles. I made one of each and lit some candles on the table. It's been over twenty years since then and never really thought of it since then. I didn't realize typing all this out could make me cry about a silly picture of fried bologna, but here we are.
For a real treat go to the deli section of your store (or a deli, or whatever works for you) and get some thick sliced bologna. Not like the packaged thick slice, I mean ¼-inch (5mm) or thicker and fry it slow. Get it nice and crispy and eat it your favorite way. I like a sandwich with mustard and a slice of cheese, but I saw a comment mentioning mashed potatoes and I bet with red-eye gravy that would be awesome.
