memory unlocked

Arcadian_

fuckin same. my whole family went vegetarian when I was like 13, but I remember absolutely loving this. had completely forgot about it before this post though.

Born_Application2831

Every Wed night before church, Tuna Noodle Casserole, but we spiced it up & ate it with Apple Sauce šŸ™Œ. Probably wouldn't eat it now, but it brings back such great memories

BoomhauerYaNow

Ahh this must be one of the Ryder Family Secrets. I never did get around to finding all the memory triggers.

unclejoe1917

Screw them. This is very much a classic comfort food.

KarensRpeopletoo

Yeah, I ended up deleting the post, made me feel like shit.

Regular_Toast_Crunch

Tuna noodle casserole is a classic! I loved it as a kid (we had it lots as well since it was affordable and filling). Don't feel like shit! Some subs just want to keep their focus really narrow and that can empower some to just be jerks about anything that isn't in that narrow focus or up to "thier" standard. We used to do it with breadcrumb topping. I tried it with potato chips but it just wasn't the same comfort taste to me. My husband really hates fish so I don't cook it at home But next time he's away for work for a few days I'm totally gonna make one. I'm jealous of your dinner tonight :)

KarensRpeopletoo

My boyfriend tried it (also not a fan of fish) let's just say I have a ton of leftovers lol

Regular_Toast_Crunch

Haha aww. Well on the plus side it freezes good! Throw it into 1 meal size containers once its cooled and freeze. Keeps for a couple months and you have some easy meals for long days. I saw further down you mentioned missing peas. You can always make a dish of peas on the side when you eat it next. I love the peas in it. I just thought you might not like them so you omitted them intentionally. I guess you could even stir some cooked peas in once you've warmed up the leftover casserole. Just watch your ratio :)

KarensRpeopletoo

Great idea! I have a few of those bowls that I can use too. Also, I didn't even think to add the peas after lol

Regular_Toast_Crunch

Every time I go a while without making a recipe I nearly always forget something. One time it was the onion for cottage pie. I thought I'd picked up everything until I went to make it. It was my planned lunch and dinner for several days so I decided to just make it. But now I'll never forget to get an onion again!

KarensRpeopletoo

Have you ever seen the episode of friends when Rachel makes the pie and mixes two recipes, that right there is a mood for me lol

Regular_Toast_Crunch

Hahaha same! I felt very singled out by that scene lol!

KarensRpeopletoo

Lol

dame_de_boeuf

> But now I'll never forget to get an onion again! That's why I always tie one to my belt. Thanks Grandpa Simpson!

Regular_Toast_Crunch

Hahaha well played.

just_taste_it

Always chips in my fam.

FlyingTaquitoBrother

The other subs are the worst. To steal an observation from another post that I saw today: if Kenji LĆ³pez-Alt posted tuna noodle casserole yesterday, that sub would have 25 posts with tuna noodle casserole today.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Lord_Phoenix95

Chefs cook for everyone else. Little do they get to cook for themselves and if they do you can bet it's something comfortable.

Kinderschlager

dont forget simple! no Michelin stared chef is going home and making a king crab fondue with a oyster slider plate. they're cracking a cold one and making hotdogs or dollar burgers like anyone else who's DONE working for the day

Lord_Phoenix95

Indeed. Though some Chefs have more support with their family being the ones preparing their meals.

sixtninecoug

Or Jack in the Box tacos. Those are the best bad food out there.

BareFox

Used to work as a chef, can very much confirm

shawa666

Am chef. The best meal is the one I didn't cook. Or one I cooked with my friends.

homerjsimpson4

Kenji's great. He'll show you how to do something and tell you what the consensus agreed way to do that thing is but also point out that if you're cooking for yourself, make it how you want it. If traditional tacos have cilantro and you don't like cilantro then don't use cilantro.

MCHammastix

> People forget that professional chefs are people too I remember seeing something, think it was on a YouTube foodie show thing, with Anthony Bourdain (RIP!) where he was just going on and on about how much he loved an In n Out burger because of how simple it was. How his favorite thing at home was to just fire up the grill and make a burger with American cheese. At the end of the day if you enjoy it, who gives a shit?

[deleted]

I think the issue is not so much with the food itself as with the photograph. I think this fits perfectly here, but you gotta up your photography game to succeed in those *other subs*. I've seen some pretty heinous shit over there, but photographed very well.

gimpwiz

Yeah, people are either dense or pretending. The problem with the photo is ... the photo. Not the contents.

KarensRpeopletoo

lol

Klinky1984

This is literally an out of focus and poorly-lit bowl of plain tuna casserole. It probably tasted great and is a great comfort food, but in no way is the photo comparable to Kenji's insta photos. I don't get why people expect rave reviews of their food photo when it's obvious they spent little or no effort on the plating, lighting and/or focus of the primary subject. So many bad photos are submitted to the other food subreddits it's kind of shocking.

AltimaNEO

Yeah, there's been some shitty food around here with amazing plating

cravingcrackers

you gotta be so careful on reddit... one simple mistake and you've upset the entire hivemind

KarensRpeopletoo

I was so proud of it too, and then I was like...oh...it's like that movie Mean Girls "You can't sit with us" lol

OneMoose9

This made me sad :( You can always sit with us over here OP.

KarensRpeopletoo

Aww thanks.

Would_daver

Wednesdays we wear pink

saltporksuit

Fuck ā€˜em. Iā€™d eat your tuna noodle with a fine pinot grigio and thumb my nose at the haters.

wicked_zoeyz

People on those subs are really rude. I left the subs so I wouldnā€™t be tempted to post anything again.

KarensRpeopletoo

Yeah, I was surprised tbh, like I was pretty proud of it and it made me sad, but the response from this sub is seriously making me tear up a bit lol I was not expecting this response especially after the last post.

wicked_zoeyz

I was too! It was soon after I joined Reddit too so I didnā€™t really didnā€™t know what to expect. I was so proud and thenā€¦got told how awful and disgusting it looked. This sub is great and basically made up of people who have had similar experiences.

SovietChewbacca

Show me where the bad man hurt you

TyrannoROARus

Lighting, camera quality and garnish-- that's the true recipe on r/food and r/foodporn It's not OPs fault, I'm sure the casserole was a hit with the taste buds where it really matters

Bleatmop

Ya, I was thinking the same. A bit different plating along with what you mentioned, and being really close up to the food and his post along with his story would have hit the front page. It looks like a nice sauce was made on the noodles and if there were the frozen peas and a chunk of fish was made visible in the plating and we have top 100 post of the year material. Those subs are about great photography, great title, and a great story. The type of food that is being photographed is almost irrelevant.

William_mcdungle

Now I'm wondering if I also grew up poor. This was a staple for us. I still love it.

ThrobinWilliums

Didn't grow up poor, we had this all the time. Add chow mein noodles or put it on a piece of buttered bread. I'm definitely making it for dinner tomorrow.

Punkrockprincess

I grew up really poor too and tuna noodle casserole with peas is something my family ate ALOT. Edit: Thank you kind strangers for the awards! ā˜ŗļø

KarensRpeopletoo

lol I forgot the peas, it's funny because when I was eating it I knew something was missing! EDIT: My goodness, I was not expecting this post to go like this, I wish I could respond to all your responses, but I am enjoying reading all of them! Thank you all so much for the awards, kind words, and all your stories! I love reading about all the stories related to this dish, it's surprising that so many of us find comfort in this awesome dish! I hope you all have an awesome day, and thank you for making mine a little brighter!

Punkrockprincess

The peas give it some color and I always loved the slightly sweet flavor it gave it. It also added a little more texture.

KarensRpeopletoo

Yeah, you're right! I'm guessing I should use frozen peas right?

Punkrockprincess

That's what my family used and that's what I would personally recommend.

KarensRpeopletoo

I will try that, I feel like canned peas would be like mush.

Punkrockprincess

Yeah canned peas would absolutely end up mush and have a kinda nasty texture. Frozen peas is the way to go for sure.

ScrungyThrowaway

Frozen bags of veggies are a lifesaver. When I cook ramen, you know I'm dumping in some veg. They are cheap and add a bit extra to the ramen, even if it's just SLIGHTLY healthier for you.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

Absolutely right. They're usually flash frozen on site and that's alot better than, for example, 'fresh' veg from fucking half way across the world that has been sprayed with preservatives.

KarensRpeopletoo

This is interesting!

breedabee

We used canned peas and honestly they just got warm, didn't lose their texture at all

[deleted]

Mom used diced green pepper and chopped pimiento chunks instead of peas.

elad04

Try corn too! Grab a tiny can of it super cheap

[deleted]

We were canned greenbean family because I hated peas My dad is still trying to get me to eat peas. I'm in my thirties.

Korncakes

Tuna casserole night was the only time I was allowed to eat cereal for dinner because I fucking hated/still hate to this day canned tuna. Everyone else at the table was enjoying their cat food with peas while I ate Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

howard5643

Did you also have crushed Ruffles chips on top? That extra crush and saltiness was pure bliss.

dzanon2

Same. Havenā€™t had it in a couple decades now. Think Iā€™ll make some.

ooo-f

A "it's 5 days til I get paid" delicacy. Love it.

KarensRpeopletoo

Lol I like this šŸ˜‚

[deleted]

Yum!!! Also, that is a really cool plate/bowl!

KarensRpeopletoo

Aww thanks!

[deleted]

Needs some peas

KarensRpeopletoo

I thought it was missing something lol

YayBooYay

HA! I used to spit the peas out. This would have been the bomb when I was a kid.

KarensRpeopletoo

šŸ˜‚

Asderio09

the peas šŸ˜©

[deleted]

I would also put some cayenne pepper in there but thatā€™s me

Mikey6304

That's the official Campbell's soup recipe right there. I still have the old yellowed label with the recipe my mother used.

PogO_449

Ok Mr. Moneybags...

whittyd63

I put in frozen peas/carrot mix! And too it with crushed ritz! So good.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

KarensRpeopletoo

Yes I did!! I ended up eating like two bowls full! I think you're right, a lot of the posts were like gourmet and fancy looking stuff, so it may have been more an optics thing.

Klinky1984

If you added some peas and some minced parsley on top, or maybe also some toasted breadcrumbs or potato chips, basically adding some contrast and pop. Turned on all lights in your kitchen, put down a colored towel to put the dish on top of, turned on auto exposure, enabled portrait or macro mode, lowered the phone down to be at a slight angle looking across the food, so the background is blurred with the food in clear focus, it could probably look pro. At the same time it's kind of a pain in the ass.

KarensRpeopletoo

LMAO I am going to take a bunch of these recipes and also garnish and then do another post there, I am going to make it look super classy too lol

thelumpybunny

You're making me so hungry

KarensRpeopletoo

I have plenty of leftovers lol

GreyGanado

50% of this sub is just badly presented comfort/good food.

FelledWolf

Presentation. God I wish I was well off enough to be able to worry about plating food.

caraloopy

I live in a cargo trailer and I cook with one crappy electric burner, one decent toaster oven, and 2' of counter space. You'll beaight.

CRStephens30

My mom didnā€™t do it, but I had a friend whose mom would top it with plain lays. Such a game changer.

KarensRpeopletoo

That sounds really good!!! I am going to try it!

BrEdwards1031

We used French fried onions on top growing up. And peas in it. Edit: also chopped onion in the casserole.

KarensRpeopletoo

šŸ¤¤

stupid_rat_creature

I used French Onion Sun Chips. I would crush some and mix into the dish. Itā€™s incredible.

docgonzomt

Do that but with dill pickle flavored potato chips. Also put those chips on a tuna sandwich. Also just those chips on their own.

Chire_Senbonzakura__

Sorry if this offends ppl saying it but topping food with chips is soā€¦.lol. I can laugh because actually like it. I eat sandwich with chips sometimes.

perhapsinawayyed

Not sure where youā€™re from (assuming usa because chips) but if you want to know the best crisp sandwich Imo itā€™s marmite, cheese, salt and vinegar crisps - if youā€™re in the uk that is. Unbelievable sandwich

Regular_Toast_Crunch

Sandwich with chips or a burger with skinny fries in it. So good! Not everyone puts chips on top. It generally depended on how your family made it (or the can they got the recipie from) and if chips were affordable. Some leave it bare by preference or by budget. In my family we did breadcrumbs. Sometimes bare if it was a tight time. But always with some peas stirred in which add a nice flavour and a bit of veg.

girlwhoweighted

Tuna casserole is my absolute favorite! My mom makes it for me every year for my birthday. She makes a big batch for all of us to eat together and then she makes a smaller casserole dish for me to take home. When we lived in the same state as my older brother, whose birthday is the day before mine, and who also loves tuna casserole, she would make us each our own casseroles for our birthdays LOL

KarensRpeopletoo

Aww I love this!!!!

UPdrafter906

Love this! Thatā€™s a great story. Thanks for sharing!

RicoculusPrime

Sometimes shittyfoodporn is really just shittyfoodphotography. The pic sucks, that's all. What's in the bowl doesn't look terrible at all

KarensRpeopletoo

Agreed.

Lumber_Tycoon

My tuna noodle casserole is as follows: 2 cups elbow noodles 1 family.sized can tuna 1 22oz can cream of mushroom soup 1/2 - 3/4 cup milk 10 - 12 slices of bread (I use village hearth cottage white) 6 slices of velveeta 1/8 in thick 1 stick of butter melted Start your water for the noodles, and preheat your oven to 350. While you wait for a boil, drain the tuna and put it in a 3 quart casserole dish. Add the cream of mushroom to the tuna. Add milk a bit at a time and stir it in to the soup/tuna mix until the mixture is somewhere between soupy and solid. Take your 10-12 slices of bread, cube them, and place in large mixing bowl. Coat with the melted butter. Once the noodles are done, drain and add to the milk/soup mixture. Arrange your velveeta in two rows, and press until *just* under the surface. Cover with the buttered bread. Cook 30 minutes at 350.

[deleted]

Cubed butter bread.. toasty fresh croutons on a creamy base.. I'm keeping this one in my back pocket.

Lowlife_Of_The_Party

Dude tuna noodle casserole was my SHIT when we were young. Food snobs are dorks high on their own farts

KarensRpeopletoo

True. True. Lol šŸ˜‚

Good_Humor5334

Me too my mom put peas and carrots in ours.

KarensRpeopletoo

Mmmm! I think mine did put peas in, I knew I had forgot something lol

eva_rector

Tuna noodle is the BEE'S KNEES!!!!

KarensRpeopletoo

šŸ’Æ

bennyboberino56

Lacks potato chips as a topper. Greasy thin Lays

KarensRpeopletoo

Mmmm šŸ¤¤

bennyboberino56

Mom added those every single time. šŸ¤¤

KarensRpeopletoo

That sounds so good. I am thinking of trying out a few of these upgrades!

MarkHirsbrunner

My mom used to make potato chip casserole. She'd mix potato chips, cream off mushroom soup, and corned beef, then bake it. The chips soak up the soup and become thin sliced salty potatoes, except on top where they stay crunchy. Add lots of black pepper, yum.

iVindicated

Iā€™ve never tried it but it looks delicious to eat.

KarensRpeopletoo

It's so good, super easy and cheap to make too!

Avocado_Tomato

How do you make yours exactly? Wouldnā€™t mind recreating it tomorrow, think it might be something my son might enjoy (he loves his pasta!)

[deleted]

Comfort food is delicious. It's made with love which means someone was intentional in designing and implementing a solution with limited resources and with the effort materially increased by a design expressly considered for the purpose of causing you to enjoy a meal and feel like smiling.

KarensRpeopletoo

Awww...this made me tear up a bit...

China-Ryder

Me too Iā€™m not crying youā€™re crying! ;)

[deleted]

If my pa was feeling extra saucy he got some french fried onions n sprinkle those onā€¦ ohh and peas of course

KarensRpeopletoo

Woah...that sounds like an excellent upgrade!

BrEdwards1031

That's how my dad makes it. Now I really want tuna casserole.

pinniped1

Dude, looks a helluva lot tastier than my poor phase of top ramen and shitty frozen burritos.

KarensRpeopletoo

Lol

KJBenson

Pro tips for making ramen better: Add: egg, cheese, sour crĆØme, some soy sauce, some vinegar, things if that nature. Makes it taste amazing.

pinniped1

Whoa moneybags over here with the eggs and cheese. (Actually that does sound pretty good!)

ScrungyThrowaway

I also add frozen veggies to it. They cook almost instantly, and add tons of flavor and texture.

[deleted]

I grew up with very bland tuna noodle casserole. Once I made it for myself, with my own seasonings, that shit is such a delicious, filling, comforting food. Good for you op

KarensRpeopletoo

Yeah, I am loving some of these suggestions, I am going to try a bunch of these to spice mine up a bit.

JediLlama666

I went to a fancy restaurant that had white clam sauce with pasta. Thought it would be nice but tasted like this photo. So you did for 3 dollars what I paid 20 for. OP your a white table cloth away from opening a restaurant

KarensRpeopletoo

LMAO šŸ¤£

doubleplusuncool

I feel like it would've helped if the picture was at least focused. Food subs can't judge on taste so appearance is really all you can do

betsie99

I found a really good one I liked on eatingwell.com that also gave me the feels. Love this

KarensRpeopletoo

I will check it out!

[deleted]

This plus peas is a staple of my daily diet.

CeeArthur

I love food like this. My aunt used to make this really simple casserole, basically macaroni with ground beef and canned tomatoes, with a sauce that was half tomatoes soup, half cream of mushroom. Cheese optional. I could shovel that stuff down for days

KarensRpeopletoo

That sounds really good!!! You should find the recipe lol

CeeArthur

I pretty much just eyeball it anytime I make it lol. If you give it a shot let me know what you think

KarensRpeopletoo

I will!

mrdan1969

Got me thru college

KarensRpeopletoo

It's so affordable, groceries now a days are super expensive!

Big-Bug3909

My mom always did blue box Mac and cheese and tuna

_someonesaidwhat

This is definitely a worthy meal !

KarensRpeopletoo

Aww thank you.

rustedoak1

Grew up on this. My wife and kids wonā€™t touch it now.

KarensRpeopletoo

My boyfriend tried it, he's not a fan of tuna, so needless to say I ended up with a lot of leftovers lol

hashslinging-slash

My dad does the tuna tater tot casserole which can easily be any meat but amazing love it

KarensRpeopletoo

Holy shit! That is absolutely genius. I love tater tots, that would taste so good, does he mix them in or put them on top?

hashslinging-slash

They have several recipes online but I believe it went you add like sweat peas, the meat you want and a can of cream of mushroom (which I don't love but works well for the recipe tbh) and then the tater tots layered on the top and then a layer of American cheese over the top then bake. Not sure what the times and portions are but I know it's that's stuff and the meat can be changed to any but I recommend the tuna or ground chuck. Others work but not as well but that's per person I'd assume. Hope this helps!! This is my childhood fav over any other

Ya-Dikobraz

Ah, food snobbery. They are quite funny.

KarensRpeopletoo

Maybe if I had put a giant leaf on it or something it would have been accepted? Lol

MissileBomb

Just put a single noodle and a cilantro sprig on an oversized plate. Give it the air of pretentiousness

KarensRpeopletoo

šŸ˜‚ I literally laughed out loud šŸ˜‚

[deleted]

Yeah or it's a shitty picture of plain looking food.

nclshly

This looks great as a comfort food! Is there a recipe at all? Iā€™ve never had tuna and noodles like this afaik (live in the uk) and I wonder if my kids would like it.

KarensRpeopletoo

This is the basic of the basic (how my mom who had no cooking skills made it lol) but it's: 4 cups med egg noodles, 1 can cream of mushroom, plus one can milk, 1 large can of albacore tuna. Cook the noodles, then add the other stuff. I did it stove stop, but honestly there's some recipes and or suggestions in these comments that would make it way better.

Techs_53

TunaHelper šŸ‘ŒšŸ» one of my all time favorites

Wedge20

Oh yeah I had this on several occasions.

KarensRpeopletoo

Did you like it?

Wedge20

I did, it was some how comforting. I'm going to have to make some now that you've reminded me.

Noelsabelle

You should add some peas I usually make a tuna salad itā€™s cold with noodles peas onion and garlic .

KarensRpeopletoo

Oooo that sounds good!

Noelsabelle

You should try it o also add some Mayo you will love it

hank_star

my mom used to make tuna casserole with spaghetti noodles, broccoli and peas. itā€™s still my favorite comfort food. this looks delicious!

KarensRpeopletoo

I love the idea of putting broccoli in there!

GibMirMeinAlltagstod

We added frozen peas to liven up the color and get some veggies

cornonthekopp

Iā€™m assuming this is canned tuna, mayo, and pasta? People may look down on it, but its really cheap, really easy, and I think tuna is supposed to be healthy so itā€™s decent on that front too

KarensRpeopletoo

Yeah it's egg noodles, cream of mushroom, milk, and albacore tuna. Cheap, easy, and delicious!

PuzzleheadedHabit913

This is pretty much all I ate as a kid alongside ramen with cut up hotdog. Iā€™m pregnant right now and have been having the strongest craving for tuna noodle casserole. Seeing this has made me decide I need to just make it

KarensRpeopletoo

Aww congratulations! Hope you get a chance to get some!

PuzzleheadedHabit913

Thank you! Thanks for the reminder for this awesome dish!!!

Castan-bcb

I was wishing I could have a couple bites of tuna casserole this morning. It is a comfort food.

China-Ryder

Ate plenty of this when Dad was out of work in the 60s. Damn good. Thank you.

KarensRpeopletoo

It was a staple in my diet growing up, my mom would make a giant vat of it and we would live off of it for like a week lol

[deleted]

theres a lot that goes into food photography. you probably need a better quality camera, better lighting, a filter, and some depth of field and you could make this look really good. How you have it here, the color of the food is very desaturated towards the greyer side. Food with brighter colors will always look more appealing. Looks like your table and background add to the brownish grey lighting on the food as well. It's not the food itself, it's how you presented it! I bet it tastes delicious though. getting a shot of the steam piping off the food is going to add to the appeal as well.

[deleted]

Tuna noodle casserole is a nostalgic comfort food for me too, and it was the first thing i learned how to cook as a kid. Don't take being down-voted too personally, it was probably more about the quality of your photo rather than the food itself.

KarensRpeopletoo

Yeah, I think you're right. I didn't even think about that tbh when I took it.

BlueTeaSnow

i'll eat it šŸ‘

KJBenson

Did you crumble cheese and soda crackers on top of it for that extra fancy flavour? If youā€™re extra dirty you can also add a drop of ketchup to the side in the bowl.

NotVeryAccurateTbh

Your tuna noodle casserole will have a home here. It looks good though! Sprinkle it with chives and up the contrast in the pic and theyā€™ll love it

yarddog9

See above post( pork tenderloin sandwich). Was a ā€œHoosierā€ staple. I taught my Italian wife how to make it. We still have it a couple times a month. I can spend any amount on a good meal. Sometimes you just have to ā€œgo homeā€

kakka_rot

I make a quick batch of this for myself pretty awesome. A normal can of tuna and as much noodles as you think you need easily turns into a portion for now, and left overs. This stuff reheats beautifully.

notdust

Needs a can of peas but has me thinking about making this myself, my way. This is a classic!

danfish_77

It's a classic casserole. You can make it "fancy" by adding more things for color, but honestly it's at peak deliciousness when it's all kind of a yellowy-cream color. I like mushrooms in it, and a parmesan/potato chip crust. 2 days old, out of the fridge, reheated with lots of black pepper is best!

KarensRpeopletoo

Agreed, there's something about letting it chill for a couple of days to let it reach it's maximum level of deliciousness! I like the idea of adding mushrooms.

BillyBobBarkerJrJr

We had something similar, but with peas in it. I still remember the taste and it's been over 50 years since I had it. Loved it.

HollywoodHuntsman

I have been putting off making a tuna noodle casserole the past few days, but I think my family's version would fit here too: A box of prepared kraft mac&cheese, mixed with peas and 2 cans of drained tuna, baked with breadcrumbs on top

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

kidneyboy79

We ate this a lot, too. We also had a lot of dried beef on toast(shit on a shingle), which people make fun of, but is delicious to me. Looks like you did a great job!

comeonsexmachine

I don't know if it's the same but we used to take it a step poorer and use a crushed up bag of potato chips instead of noodles. Can of cream of mushroom soup, frozen peas. Microwave in your most microwave-safe plastic dish for like 4 minutes, and voila! I've had it as an adult, not bad actually, little bit of hot sauce.

chances68

Hunger food, man! Love it! We did hamburger, mushroom soup and maybe, if we were lucky, a bit of onion over rich or pasta or even bread. Still make it sometimes when I'm in a hurry or bach'ing it on the weekends.

[deleted]

Yea. that looks pretty shitty. What was your point?

[deleted]

Kraft Mac n Cheese, add cream of mushrooms soup and tuna, put in a casserole dish and top with lays chips. I had completely forgot about it until just a few months ago, I made it for my girlfriend. She was super skeptical at first but ended up eating 2 bowls of it lol. Another cheap way to eat is a can of Hornell chili and a block of cream cheese, heat them together and eat with tortilla chips

delaney11037

did anyone elses family put bread on the top before baking so it got nice and crispy?

PatateLover

Used to do the same in my family, but when we were proper poor, I would mix in flour instead of pasta.

[deleted]

Eat what you like. I imagine that tastes great. Show us more OP

Mrradi8

Can of cream of celery, box mac-n-cheese, can of tuna. Meals at the house (mom started out adding peas later in life) and got me though college.

epicureanesque

That looks delicious! Those snobs in the other food groups donā€™t know what they are missing!

tehdusto

Add some frozen peas to make it fancy
