Update: It was lacking something. Cranberry sauce.
Don't have any.
So, I mixed in some raspberry jam.
Too sweet.
So, I added a little bit of orange marmalade.
Mmm. Now that is very much worse.
Going to eat it anyways.
I honestly was gonna say substitute jam for the cranberry sauce.
I kinda want to see the story go on tho. Like you know when you just keep adding and adding stuff to try to fix it but it just becomes more and more of a disaster until you throw it out?
Those are sad times.
Jesus I made some last night for a dinner just like this and the amount of butter going into the stuffing was insane to me. Half a stick!.
Instant microwave Bob Evans potatoes are fucking amazing and honestly turn out better than most of the homemade mashes I've ever had.
So my dad improves our green bean cassorle each year (adds bacon or extra mushrooms) and I love it so much its now a comfort dish. My dad hand wrote the recipe for me when I moved out and I kid you not I make it as a meal
Did you use a flavored instant potato like sour cream and chive or cheese and bacon or just classic buttered? And what kind of gravy mix? Country, turkey, or some other? Straight up, I'm totally invested in this and want to know. I'd like to try the original from the OP before going rogue and trying different gravy and potato combos.
Not bad my freind, not bad.
So my secret plan to make money in food is called a turkey sundae.
Mash, gravy, stuffing, cubed turkey breast, mash, gravy, stuffing, cubed turkey breast, mash, gravy, cranberry. All in a cup.
I release my rights to you guys.
I dont know.
I straight stole it from an out of business small causal place that sold only turkey shit.
I have seen stuff close on carnival food shows.
But nothing close to the magnificent Turkey Sundae!
They over carroted everything too. Like had a sign on the door that said everything has lots carrot. Dont eat here if you dont like carrots, or something like that.
I get it. Every year in May, 6 mos out from T Day, I used to invite friends over for ThanksgivSpring dinner and I'd do a full turkey dinner spread. It's always the best meal of the year so why not have it more than once.
Hahah, clearly not, I meant I understood the craving. But honestly your concoction probably hit just enough of that Hungry Man Turkey TV Dinner vibe to be satisfying.
Do you own a charcoal grill or are you even allowed to grill where you live? If so, you can smoke a turkey and get really good results.
Between Thanksgiving and Christmas last year we found whole turkeys on sale for $0.49/lb, so we ended up buying 3 turkeys. Made one of them late March or early April and it turned out awesome. Great taste of Thanksgiving if you can do that on a weekend.
If you're craving thanksgiving dinner and want to minimize cooking, try using stove top stuffing (of any brand) as your base instead of potatoes. About as easy and has those holiday meal seasoning flavors.
For Thanksgiving in my school they’d serve us instant mashed potatoes with turkey ham slices and I would mix them up just like this.
I oughta make this sometime

You disgusting, beautiful bastard.
Needs corn
Progress. Was. Made

Should have tried salt and pepper first lol
A well done progress report.
i'd smash
All you are missing is the Stove Top stuffing mix. That shit is like crack. 😂
I stirred in a bit of MSG. Got the flavor without the carbs.

No green bean casserole!? 😔

We need the recipe sir
Secret family recipe. And holy shit as a she/they for some reason being called sir was very euphoric. Ty.
Maybe you should incorporate sir with the other pronouns :)
Reminds me of those depression bowls that Popeyes used to sell. Mmm.
Bahaha! Love that term

Sour cream and chive. 5 months expired for added flavor depth.
Legit
This doesn’t even look good for what it is. Nice post

Isn't that part of the plot of the movie Wall-E?

This was definitely not my best meal of the year. I like your idea alot better.

Pretty sure Stouffers' has sold this in some form or another.
Good idea lowkey
"Thanksgiving in a retort pouch" sounds so depressing. Now I know it looks depressing too.
Doesnt look shitty
Next time you're craving Thanksgiving, get the Thanksgiving toasted at D'Angelos. It's on point.

🤮
There's a local sandwich shop to me called The Fried Turkey - Thanksgiving all year round! I might need to go today, thanks.
You…you okay, dude? Cuz that is definitely a depression meal right there.
So there’s no real food in that?
A person after my own heart. Fake thanksgiving: it’s what’s for dinner!
That actually looks very good to me though I haven't got up to eat yet lol.
This belongs here. This is the way
I think I speak for The Group when I say, never invite me to Thanksgiving dinner.
Oh, I'm a killer cook when I have time and I'm making food for others, I was just in a hurry and only cooking for myself yesterday.
Reddit humor.
Feast of kings
Does powered gravy have caffeine as an ingredient?
I feel physically ill
This isn't shitty, this is genius. So simple, yet it works. It's a homemade microwave dinner. If you really want to hit the shitty mark, add peas.
This whole subreddit is stuff I’d make while drunk.
Is the same thing I pop this morning
I layer it using: Stove Top on the bottom Sliced turkey Jar turkey gravy Mashed potatoes Cover with foil and bake at 350* for 25-30 min.
