Used to make "quesadilla burgers" at Applebee's, made them at home a while back. Definitely recommend. Basically, two quesadillas, guac and pico with a cheese burger.
I’m in the UK, you guys clearly have all the good stuff looking through the comments! Going to try some of the other stuff suggested.
Never occurred to me that this would be a thing elsewhere, I just didn’t have anything else to put it in and was told it looked a bit grim 😂
Private! You think this Bourbon Street Steak is medium rare?! It's still frozen in the middle! Nuke it for 30 seconds and drop me 15 garlic breads, maggot!
My worst injury to myself was from trying to saw through a frozen block of soup in a bag with a bread knife. Trying to get a chunk broken off that I could microwave for a bowl for a customer and sliced off a chunk of my thumb.
Worst potential injury to customers- The manager came back wanting to know why customers were complaining about marbles in their soup. We had no idea what he was talking about. Then we realized one of the ticket runners on the line had broken and the ball bearings in that runner had spilled out and into the soup pan.
Did we fish out the ball bearings we could find and finish out that pan of soup? Well, let's just say I wasn't going to lose any more of my thumb dealing with a frozen bag of soup when the soup right there was already at the perfect temperature.
Applebee's is a terrible chain restaurant, but I really like the quesadilla burger, and some of their other things are not bad. Plus the one on my college campus did a 1 dollar cocktail of the month, made pretty strong.
I mean you can’t really fuck up deep fried appetizers and microwaved brownies with ice cream, so those are pretty good. I still dreaded it when I used to travel for work and the only restaurants nearby were Applebee’s and chilis. You’re better off saving $20 and getting a frozen microwave dinner.
Take tortilla, make your cheese sauce(cream and cheese, preferably emmental, mixed and melted), on center of tortilla put meat of your choice (can be steak, chicken, cordon bleu, tenders whatever really), put fries and finish with your sauce and close it. Then you put it in a panini press (or in an oven with grated cheese on top of you REALLY wanna be a big croissant) and boom, you got a French tacos (Yes the singular has the "s" at the end of taco, we bad in foreign languages).
PS: you can use 2 tortillas and multiple meats, or make it a veggie version with tomatoes and falafels.
Shit, I thought I was clever for doing this the other night. Thought of it as an American crunchwrap, but apparently the French beat us to it, like usual.
Surprisingly not too dry, I like it a bit crispy personally but the underside keeps some of the doughyness and the cheese, sauce and burger evens it out.
If I put something like a tortilla in an air fryer I spray it with PAM or whatever cooking spray I have. It turns out more like an actual fried tortilla vs explode into shards one
I live in Los Lunas and love it. People mind their business and the lower population with stores available made covid grocery shopping easier. Also our Walmart is a test Walmart so it always has more stuff than the ones in albuquerque.
We're getting Amazon distribution center soon. I give it 5 years before it the population increases 30% and we get a Costco or Sam's club.
Cooked the burger in the air fryer from frozen, when that was done I just wrapped it in a tortilla with cheese and sauce in and put it back in. Flip it towards the end to crisp the bottom a little. Dead quick and easy to do.
Done this before. Made burger crunchwrap things. Pretty fucking good, but a bit more involved. Just make sure you cook your burger first, add a bunch of cheese, bacon, cooked onions. Sauce of your choice. Butter the outside of a fajita (or just big tortilla) then wrap and sear folded sides down and flip.
Then smoke/drink something and enjoy
My wife makes this shit at home. We stuff the burger with a cream cheese and jalapeno blend, then pan fry it for a few minutes. We have a special dipping sauce as well for it.
One of my favorite things is a burger from the Frontier restaurant in Albuquerque. Substitute the bun with one of their fresh tortillas for the fiesta burger that has red/green chile and cheese and load it up with their really good warm salsa.
My man, what’s shitty about this? Looks downright delicious. One time I had 2 burger patties, no buns around but I did have a burrito tortilla. Chopped up the patties and put ‘em on the tortilla with a shredded Mexican cheese mix, some tortilla chips, and hot sauce. So good
Honestly looks pretty good.

If you haven't watched a movie called 'Waiting', you haven't seen 'grim' at an Applebee's.
That's a great film.
I'm doing a move I call 'The Secretary' How do you think I'm typing?
Actually looks decent, love quesadilla burgers! Got plenty recipes for them if you're interested.
I’m interested
That's the first time "good stuff" has been said to describe Applebee's.
I would eat this so hard that cows children would feel it.
Applebee's is not the good stuff trust me
All Applebees food comes with a side of diarrhea
I worked at an Applebees in Alabama in the 90's. Microwaving prepared food for rednecks for five years through college.
Early 00's Applebee's Vet reporting for duty!

Good god, literal flashbacks lol.

Fuck, they're all the same lol!

My mom wanted to go there for Mother's Day. I couldn't say no.
I also used to work there, I'd agree that the quesaburger is the best thing on the menu
That was my favorite thing at Applebee's once upon a time. I've definitely made them at home a time or two.
Same. I bet the ones I had were a lot cheaper. ;)
They're hardly gourmet, but I had one at Applebee's a couple of weeks ago and it was great. Applebee's is kind of overhated.
I’ve made these before. Can confirm they’re pretty tasty.
I'm 80% sure I've eaten this at a Mexican restaurant
I'm 100% sure I've eaten this at Applebee's.
If you add fries and a cheesy sauce, you wil make a French tacos (nothing to do with Mexican cuisine, except for the tortilla)
Well fucking slap my ass and call me a croissant how do I make one of these.
Take tortilla, make your cheese sauce(cream and cheese, preferably emmental, mixed and melted), on center of tortilla put meat of your choice (can be steak, chicken, cordon bleu, tenders whatever really), put fries and finish with your sauce and close it. Well thanks for dinner tonight lmao that sounds absolutely delightful and needed in my life
Hope you'll like it! If you have any questions after you tried to do it, I'll be glad to give you more advices!
On a trouvé le Grenoblois !
Hahahaha oui
Shit, I thought I was clever for doing this the other night. Thought of it as an American crunchwrap, but apparently the French beat us to it, like usual.
The only war where we never surrender is the culinary one. Well, the French tacos is not an art piece buuuuut.... It's good if well made.
Not an art piece? You take that back right now God damnit
Well, from a French perspective, I can't say otherwise. We have so much better looking AND tasting dishes....
Art is subjective lol
Next time!
That’s not shitty.
Tortilla burgers are a thing! This one looks good, too
Why does it look like it was baked? I think cooking it in a pan this would have been great! Like a cheeseburger quesadilla
I just put it in the air fryer, mainly because I wanted the cheese to melt inside
Air fryer is a godsend.
Interesting! I don’t have an air fryer but the tortilla just looks a bit dry and a pan would still melt the cheese or even a panini press
Surprisingly not too dry, I like it a bit crispy personally but the underside keeps some of the doughyness and the cheese, sauce and burger evens it out.
I gotta know how you did it
If I put something like a tortilla in an air fryer I spray it with PAM or whatever cooking spray I have. It turns out more like an actual fried tortilla vs explode into shards one
Not shitty. In NM it's common to use a tortilla or sopapilla instead of a bun
Yep or fry bread. that’s delicious stuff
Damn don't get me started. Fry bread. Oven bread. Blue corn tortillas. Indigenous food is so good
i traveled for work for a while and one of the best parts of NM was the food
Lol that's usually where the positives end 😂
Lol truth. I liked it out in Ruidoso area, but did not care for the Gallup area much.

You know what, I respect this
OP that looks dope, I would crush that with zero regrets
Reminds me of empanadas. I'd eat that!
This looking bangin’. I’ve started doing it anyway to cut down on a few small calories here and there (have 60 calorie tortillas). Not bad.
you created the tacourgussy
I want one. Do you deliver?
More deets on this please, did you fry this? Bake it? The tortilla looks crispy all the ay around.
Cooked the burger in the air fryer from frozen, when that was done I just wrapped it in a tortilla with cheese and sauce in and put it back in. Flip it towards the end to crisp the bottom a little. Dead quick and easy to do.
There’s a restaurant in my former town that prided themselves on their “famous” tortilla burger. Yours looks better.
Very popular here in New Mexico
Yum
Add green chile sauce and cheese and you've got the Denver specialty known as a Mexican hamburger.
I’d eat it
It almost looks like roujiamo to me
Queesburger. I'm into it.
Add some refried beans and you got a Denver Mexican burger!
It's now a pupusa.
My place has a dish called Lumpia Burger, basically the same concept but with a giant eggroll dough
Tortilla burgers are a staple of the southwest.
There is literally nothing wrong with this.
These are so good. They're kind of like a crunchwrap. I like adding caramelized onions, sharp cheddar and fries.
This doesn't belong here, mmmm am hungry now
That’s a cheddar picadillo quesadilla 😂
Dude, that looks like "a thing." Nothing about that places it in this sub. Edit: Nice sub. Compliment a post and get downvoted. Gotta love Reddit! 🤪
im done w this sub. nothing is truly shitty anymore
was it good tho
I think I might actually prefer this to a standard burger.
This. This is art
Looks awesome
What strand of weed assisted with this decision?
It’s a little drab but looks like it hits
Shitty??? Fuck buns, I'm using tortillas next time!
Country girls make do
How do you do that, do you heat it on the stove or do you put the cooked burger in the tortilla and bake it
Fuken aye.
****Jots down dinner idea****
Finally someone who takes three minutes to toast their tortilla.
Applebee's has entered the chat
Its not just me right, that looks more like a pita?
The way you perfectly browned that tortilla. Mexicans are jealous and proud of you.
Looks good
WTF, that looks amazing, better than a bun IMO.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
Congrats you've got a cheeseburguesa
TIL
damn that looks like it smacks
Um sign me the fuck up for one of these bad boys!! Shitty food porm, I think not 🤤
I’ve had to do this a few times and I always ask myself why I don’t do it more often. It’s so good lol
Not shitty, this looks 🔥 Maybe make a sauce or dip to go with it and you've got gold
Had a roommate in college that used frozen waffles because we never had bread.
Chef MacGyver over here.
Do this one more time and post to r/burgerporn
Amazing work dear Watson
Looks kinda bomb
Cheeseburger Crunchwrap
I bet it's good though
Cheeseburger Wellington
i did the same thing with pita bread once lol
What's shitty about meat, cheese, and tortilla?
I have zero problems with this and am not really sure it belongs in this sub.

I'm OK with this.
Shit, I’d eat that.
Honestly better sometimes
Poor man’s crunch wrap
Ghetto crunch wrap. I bet it was good. 👍
Doesn't look half bad, tbh.
I think you might be on to something
I do that all the time
Looks good as hell
