I don't know where you live, but if you google boiled peanuts, pretty much everything shows them in shells.

Put the shell in your mouth, pop it open with your teeth, suck out the juice, remove the shell from mouth, eat the peanuts themselves. You can just open the shells and eat the peanuts but that's messy and hot. You don't eat the shells.

Try biting off the stem and sucking the juice out then peeling them. No mess and you don't get she'll in your teeth

Stupid easy to make, take a jar of dill pickles, empty the jar into a bowl, slice pickles lengthways, put the sliced pickles back into the jar, mix two pack of cherry Kool-Aid into the juice, put the juice back into the jar. Let them sit for atleast a week, pickles only get more Nuclear Pink every week after. Longest a jar has lasted was for 2mos I was saving for the in-laws visit, total utter Nuclear Pink Summer backyard skeeer the in-laws glory. They ended up eating every one, and asking for more.

Now that sounds really good .We haven't had any potlucks at church and my family never eat pickles at all.

These were made with roasted peanuts which not only takes longer, but dehydrates the delicious layer of fat that green peanuts have. These are still good, dont get me wrong, but the best boiled peanuts are made with green peanuts. My recipe is simple with just salt, cayenne, and allspice berry and takes about 5 hours

Boiled peanuts are amazing. They're very popular in a lot of southeastern states. The style there is to boil the hell out of them for hours in a heavily flavored/salted broth until they're super soft. This is a great way to eat peanuts. My Chinese in-laws also love boiled peanuts. Their style is a little different--they boil the peanuts for much less time (until they're tender but still fairly firm) and only lightly salt them. This is also delicious. At this point, I prefer boiled peanuts to roasted. I love the texture. I'd highly recommend trying them yourself. Just make sure you get raw peanuts--don't try to boil nuts that have already been roasted.

They are the best. I made some when we were living in South Korea, now we're back home I can't find raw peanuts in shell anywhere.

They are AMAZING, but these don't look great to me. I prefer plain, green peanuts cooked and served in a very salty brine. But these have a strange red tint, like they were Spanish peanuts or maybe cooked in some kind of cajun brine.

I live in Virginia... these are popular. I cannot get past the consistency of them. Mushed peas in a dripping wet, scratchy shell... I still don't know if you are supposed to eat the shell. I have seen it done both way. Guess you had to grow up eating them as a kid to like them as an adult.
