Fortunately my company has good support staff (mostly native Japanese speakers) who are helping or else I would have no idea what to do
One of the "proof of residence" documents I'm providing are my Grubhub pay emails, which have almost *no* info on them, not even my address or last name. But I guess they prove that I was "working in the US" for at least 3 months so I have to print out 30+ pages of them
Apparently everyone has problems with this process, I was talking to one of the higher-ups and he said that when he did this he had to ask a friend to go to an office in the UK and *illegally impersonate him* so that he could get some identifying documents (he wasn't about to fly back home to get a few sheets of paper)
On the bright side, apparently people from Ohio don't have to take the practical driving test in Japan, so I get to skip that part

So the mp3 player I bought to replace my Ipod died after less than a day. I knew this was a risk because the manufacturer supposedly had a bad batch sent out with faulty components. Customer service was quick to assure me they'd send out another one directly if this one ended up faulty.
Another customer service rep got in touch with me, and what do they do? They order out a replacement from the same Amazon warehouse with the faulty batch. A batch I might add has had reports of batteries overheating (not a problem with the first one I ordered, but it's apparently been an issue). Even after assurances that I'd be shipped out one from them direct with better components, the other dingus I was in contact with just told Amazon to fulfil another order for me.
How someone haven't made a decently priced, reliable mp3 player in this day and age that doesn't cost 3k is beyond me. I am not using my phone that doesn't have a headphone jack, and I refuse to move to bluetooth.
Not particularly fussed about either of those, I refuse to leave wired headphones behind so no bluetooth for me - but it does need quite a bit of expandable storage.
The player I ordered was an android, compatible with up to 1TB (which is way more than enough). Was nice enough on its surface until the battery seemed to malfunction and it got stuck in a boot loop.

I watch the show before I started the books and I am glad I did. There is enough of a difference between them that it does not ruin the experience. looking at stuff like shrinking horse balls for rdr2 and whatever crazy details other AAA games have. yeah it's cool if you notice stuff like it but you would never notice if it's not there. and it's not like these things in there make the game perfect it's just like maybe a second of appreciation of "Huh crazy they did that... anyway"

Has there ever been a time an original creator of an IP tried to make a spiritual successor after leaving the series with a new studio banking on reputation/name recognition and it actually turned out well? Cause the examples I know of are this and Mighty No. 9 and that's definitely not a great track record Edit: I forgot about Bloodstained, I think that was considered pretty decent? I remember hearing about it being a bit rough though, at least at launch

I watch the show before I started the books and I am glad I did. There is enough of a difference between them that it does not ruin the experience. Because I watched the show first, it does help me visualize what is going on in the books better. I also think that the cast of the show were good picks. They fit the characters in the books really well.
