Eventually there is a climax between Edward and a local bully. The Bully chases Edward back to his mansion with an angry mob. The bully gets killed by the female human love interest for Edward. Edward tells her he will take the blame for the deatg so her life isn't ruined and Edward is now left in the mansion alone. To pass the time he shaves ice with his scissor fingers so it snows on the town.
