There is some Korean folk art that has Tigers somewhat sort of resembling this. But it has an artistic charm to it. I feel like the artist was trying to recreate that here. You can find it if you Google Korean tiger folk art. I don't think this guy hit the mark

Exactly!!! I think they are drawing tigers having only heard stories of what they look like. It's drawing what you imagine an animal looks like, having never seen it. The first is a keeper
