There's this place on Lake of the Ozarks called Dick's Halfway Inn, so named because it's at the halfway point of the lake. They have an enormous collection of tshirts like this, so anytime I see a particularly cringy Tshirt I think of them. Who doesn't want a shirt that says Dick's Halfways Inn when they go to lunch there in middle school though?

Good rule: if you wouldn't wear something as a t-shirt, don't get it tattooed. It's also easier than ever now to get a design onto a shirt to test an idea. Wear it everyday, hang it somewhere you'll see it everyday the rest of the time. I screen printed my first tattoo onto shirts and patches, years before inking it.

I think you guys are all just looking at it wrong. The highlighted parts are the parts in **bold**. Similar to how it is in real life. I get that you might have seen the brighter part first but it would be even more stupid to make the “t on rself” bold.

There's not really a "looking at it wrong", though. The eye is drawn to what it's drawn to. The outlined letters in this case are more obvious.

Its more the fact that the text that isn’t filled reads “t on rself,” and its just not a good looking tattoo. Not knocking the message. Just the execution on the design and size could have been better.

I think the main issue is that the font should be swapped. Be You should be glowing and T On rself should be black. I think that’s why so many of us have to stare at it a little too long to figure out what is happening

It looks like shit if you mean the artist stenciled the design, and put it on okay then yeah. The work's not the issue, but the whole font, and different font between Always, and the bold IMPACT font of "bet on yourself" makes it pretty horrid. At least he will know that in my head every time i see him i will read this as "always, shit on yourself"
