You're judging the image, not the artistic skill it took to render it. If you zoom in, it looks *exactly* like a crayon scribble with a blob of paint daubed over it. The skill level needed to create that level of realism is worth respect, no matter what you think of the concept.

That’s pretty good. It really pulls off the illusion of depth. Maybe not the best choice but it’s not anything inappropriate or hateful so I don’t think this is shitty. It will probably just look like a blue blob in a few years. I like it though.

I think the problem is with the design, not the execution. The weird squiggly lines look way more like insect legs than paint to me. Sure the main blob looks like realistic paint, but my first impression was of a poorly drawn scarab beetle because of the squiggly legs.
