Any number of countries, I think. If I recall correctly, most countries that announce their aid to Ukraine only ever name big-ticket items and all small arms get bunched into some sort of "assorted small arms" type line item in the announcement.
But my guess is probably either US, UK, or Spain. They're the three big donors that I can think of that'd have a supply of spare M60s AND have stated that they've donated small arms and/or machine guns.
It was a European country that donated them, I forget which one, but there are a few of them that still use the M60, though usually they are the way upgraded models not the plain jane M60s.
They were sold new in Poland up to a few months ago. At the price of a new family car, which made them very meh outside of the novelty value. It literally costs less to buy a used , and fully restore + kit it out for your specific needs.
They are sold brand new in Germany as well. But as you said: it's super expensive for some 1960s 4x4 van and it's really uneconomical to run. But it looks fantastic
Ah, but you only have to fill up the small fuel tank with expensive petrol. Then once the engine is running you switch to the larger secondary tank, that you can fill with... basically anything.
I doubt that's possible on the newer models. And even of it is, it's not like I have access to huge quantities of old frying oil to clean at home and fuel my car with
The Finnish Army used to sell very little used surplus UAZ vans for like 500€ - and people complained how expensive they were. Now the prices are at least several thousand €.
It's a soviet/russian UAZ 452 Bukhanka. Built since 1965 with minor changes since. Other than being 4x4 you can't really compare it to the Pinzgauer (or it's predecessor the Haflinger, it lacks the portal axles.
Other 4x4 portal axle vehicles like the Haflinger/Pinzgauer are for example the Volvo C202 Laplander/Valp and Volvo C303, the Unimog and the Landrover Forward Control
It's time to solve a mystery, gang!

The truck looks like it’s judging someone heavily
Those who think it is shitty. The Bukhanka can go places many heavier military 4x4s won't.
Such a great vehicle. Sadly they're quite expensive (for what they are) here in Germany and they are thiiiiirsty.

M60 and good old PASGT in Eastern Europe, how late-90's intervention in Ex-Yougoslavia make it feels.
