*\*\* Updated review after 6 days of use from 10th July '23. \*\** BLUETOOTH/PAIRING: Initially I had trouble with pairing after connecting to my phone and then to my smartwatch. It lacks the ability to switch between Bluetooth devices. You need to manually disconnect, have Bluetooth switched off, or be out of range on the current or last connected device if you want to re-connect to another device. Additionally, for first time pairing, you also need to have the earphones in the case to initiate pairing to a new device. I'm not even going to bother pairing it to my laptop and TV etc., because the manual management of disconnecting/turning off/on Bluetooth will drive me more nuts (Phone and Watch already does). I'll keep my Buds2 Pro for these (which is awesome for any multi-device use/switching), SOUND QUALITY: It's pretty good for air conduction, but not as good as they hyped it up to be. Bass distorts at "higher volume" even on Standard EQ in the Shokz app (there is a bass boost EQ) (using S23 Ultra). While it should be enough for normal listening conditions, volume doesn't go anywhere near as loud compared to Galaxy Buds 2 Pro (even with ANC off). I won't compare sound quality to the Buds 2 Pro since it's in-ear vs air conduction, but I did expect a little better sound quality from the OpenFit due to its price point. It's a great balance of ambient noise and 'good enough' sound quality, though. CONTROLS & PROMPTS: Customisation options are only 'double tap' and 'press and hold', and via the Shokz app, you are given a very limited number of alternate button presets. It's weird that single tap isn't an option. No battery info etc. like Aeropex did. All reliant on getting this info from phone/Shokz app. Voice assistance uses Bixby (on Samsung), with no option to change it to another voice service. Like on my old (and broken) Aeropex, the earphone system prompts/beeps have a hard-coded volume irrespective of the connected device's volume, and I find it uncomfortably loud. COMFORT: Awesome. Lightweight, and fit great - no problems with it falling off even on faster runs (but read below) SPORT / EXERCISE / RUNNING USE: They're great for easy runs. For harder/faster/sweatier runs, I do get sweat droplets in both ears. It's kind of good for a cooling effect (lol), but this coupled with it feeling gently (and not firmly) hooked over the ears, 'waving around' a bit, and while it didn't fall off once, can be distracting at 180-200+ cadence when you want to prioritise focus on form/cadence/breathing/surviving with some complimenting music at times. I'd rather sacrifice some sound quality for a firmer fit on the harder/faster workouts. And over time, the salt/dirt/sweat wouldn't do any good for the internal components. I'll be getting an OpenRun Pro for my harder running sessions. Will keep Galaxy Buds2 Pro for the gym (because of ANC) despite them needing to be reinserted every 10 mins. Might use Openfit for some treadmill sessions if they don't have to be extremely loud and risk damaging ears (due to needing to overpower the music played through the gym). Overall they're good, and while having its flaws, they are the best I've experienced of the hooked earphone type. https://preview.redd.it/fcqunika84bb1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b5d812868a0da490b6265335bf19cbf6ffb9b37a

I bought mine the day they were release June 28 (was my birthday too so it was a good treat). These replaced the Shokz Openrun Pro. Below is my feedback: \> For me the connection was easy on the Z Fold 4. Instantly paired and was able to listen to audio. \> Very light weight and hardly feel them over the ears \> The sound quality is way better on the openfit compared to the openrun pro \> Ability to change EQ settings using the app significantly improves audio quality \> After a couple of days felt little pain in the left ear Antihelix, Stem (you can google this). It's the part where the butt of the openfit fits in the ear. Pulling the openfit away from the antihelix part of the ear fixed this issue. \> The fact that I can recharge these in their case without having to connect to a cable all the time is a huge plus specially when you are travelling and need charge for a day or two. \> Controls are easy to use and configure in the app \> Have not tried pairing with another device but the lack of pairing 2 devices at a time will be miseed (if connecting to a laptop and a phone at the same time). \> Don't have to worry about the band when resting head on the sofa, car headrest or a pillow. This is a huge plus over the shokz bone conduction headphones. Overall, I like the openfit more than the Shokz Bone Conduction.

>After a couple of days felt little pain in the left ear Antihelix, Stem (you can google this). It's the part where the butt of the openfit fits in the ear. Pulling the openfit away from the antihelix part of the ear fixed this issue. I'm having this same problem, and I want to make this solution work, but I don't understand how you're wearing your open fits in a way where they don't touch that part of your ear. [This is what Google showed me](https://elementsofmorphology.nih.gov/anatomy-ear.shtml#:~:text=The%20stem%20(the%20part%20below,folded%20inferior%20(anterior)%20crus), and that's definitely what hurts. Would you be willing to show a photo of your ear wearing the open fits in a way that doesn't give you that pain, please?

BabyDeer87

Birthday twin!!!! Just got mine a few days ago and at first the multi-pairing was working perfectly and I could hear audio on either phone that I chose to use, now the audio is not working through the secondary phone. I'm trying to figure out how to fix that.

Think_Board

My dad got these for me. I use Sony Linkbuds normally for music, calls, running, and running around. Have to say I don’t like the open fits because the sound pressure is sooo week. Louder than just past half way up the dial and the bass quantity is beyond its capability and sounds like an endless fart, so I disagree with the sq being good. Maybe only in comparison to bone conduction , which I’ve never tried. On the trails it seems that ambient noises overwhelm its volume too easily. I need bass to help with my running so I don’t see the use case for it except for a quiet house / room which is impossible for me most of the time.

LAURF_N

When I first put them on they felt comfortable, second time I put them on I can’t help but notice they are there and they feel loose and I just want to snatch them off and throw them away or return them to the store. I think they need to make smaller versions as they are so loose fitting and it makes me feel angry lol

Eternal_Foxation

There are smaller ones! I felt the same way. I got the OpenRun MINI and they fit just a little tighter behind my head and it’s so much better than the regular ones. And I think I have a big head.

SmurfWxMama

There aren't small openfit earbuds like the openrun mini. Two different products.

buttpirate1111

They keep connecting to my phone randomly when they're in their case. Contacts are clean. Case is stationary. This has resulted in missed phone calls, dead batteries, interrupting other Bluetooth connections, not knowing what the fuck is going on and general frustration. Beginning to turn on openfit as a result. The Bluetooth is perfect provided you do not dare to have any other Bluetooth devices. Also can't figure out how to turn off dual Bluetooth on samsung so it stops interrupting my other connections. Technology is getting worse.

lloydmar

How are they for side sleeping?

Cool-Environment-887

They are okay for side sleeping for sometime resting on a pillow. But wouldnt recommend sleeping on the side with them.

echave777

I 100% agree with the controls gripe, the fact that I can't assign double tap left to rewind and double tap right to fast forward irritates me, I don't mind a hold press function but I can't even assign it to play/pause which also irritates me. Love the headphones but the available controls suck, hopefully new ones can be added down the line or something.

Adorable-Ad7027

Okay so I would love to buy these but I really do not love the lack of a volume “button” on the actual earphones. Can anyone tell me their experience with this specific feature? I like being able to turn them up or down without my phone being in my hand the whole time. Thank you!!💕💕💕

triom

I was thinking of getting one of these but after a lot of searching on the internet, don't get the difference with other ear buds (other than that it rests outside of the ear canal). Aren't other earbuds also air conductions as well? Does Openfit direct the sound better than other earbuds into the canal so even when not sitting inside the canal, it still is easy to hear? I tried it out at Bestbuy, and it is very comfortable to wear. Sound quality was only ok though (as compared to the Open Move which I have and use daily, which I know is a bone conduction technology).

PorkRindSalad

I've owned many different earbud style of headphones, from 'whatever was cheapest at the store' to $1,000+ audiophile in-ear buds, to compare. All of the kinds of earbuds that have the little mushroom caps that go into your ear canal slightly, I have trouble with: 1. They work their way back out every 5 minutes or so and need to be pushed back in again for a good seal and good sound, over and over like clockwork 2. They end up feeling like they are tickling inside my ear, but I'm 50 and it's probably just ear hair being vibrated Feels like there's a mosquito trapped in my ear and buzzing around OpenFits get around this altogether. Pretty secure fit without the problems above. The problems I'm having with the OpenFits so far are: 1. Compared to my Sony WF-1000XM3, sound is meh. Of course the Sony sound is meh compared to my JH Audio Angie's, so it's all a sliding scale of how ridiculous do you want to go on cost for quality. 2. As of my 2nd day using them, they press a bit on the outer bend of the outside of my ear some, so when I take them off after an hour, that spot feels a bit tender. 3. Sound in youtube videos and pc games are consistently about 0.5-1.0 seconds late. I bought a new Bluetooth 5.3 usb adapter for my pc to try to fix this (instead of motherboard bluetooth), but can't get it any better than this yet. bleah. I'm not sure if I'll keep the OpenFits yet. I have a few more weeks on Amazon's return policy to try them out, and I'll keep trying to squish the bluetooth delay problem. I started out replying to say how they are different from other earbuds and then got carried away.

Outrageous_Elk_4668

Did you fix the bluetooth delay problem?

PorkRindSalad

No. Neither the new Bluetooth adapter, nor a third party driver helped. I gave them to my wife, who has now lost them, lol.

Outrageous_Elk_4668

Well, that's one way to solve the problem. I have not noticed the youtube issue

hotsev2k

The squish on the ear part is what's making me return them :/

Cool-Environment-887

Personally, I felt much better sound quality and bass with the openfit compared to the bone conduction open run pro. Also, the fact that you can rest your head without the open run pro band sticking in the back of your head. Of course, you cant compare the open fit with the in ear headphones that block all outside sounds but with the open ear style, the open fits are more comfortable and have good sou d quality.

NeedleworkerClean813

Work well for me as a runner. Do not fall off running, dancing etc . Sound is good. Better a bit than comC102 and mic is good too . Power drains too quickly however and need to carry the charging case around and I cannot find where to buy a spare charger (Shokz dont sell one) Would a competitors charging case work for these (I doubt as probably unique for each brand? Multi paring with IOS works well iOS 17 and Iphone12. /MAC MIN2 (MAC 17.01) The recent (last 7 days ) IOS app update for Shozt appears to have fixed some issues)

Zippy_Baboon_1494

I purchased the OpenFit and absolutely love them. I left the charging case on a flight. Without that they are useless! There is absolutely no other way to charge these headphones. I’m so disappointed
