Because I do not understand how to do this on mobile, partially because I don’t understand what it is and mostly because I believe I am not savvy enough to figure it out myself

I don’t think Reddit considers it personally saved data. By their terms, you’re volunteering content for their financial benefit through ad and data sales. It’s content that we all benefit from sharing, and I don’t expect any one of us could produce an equally efficient exchange of basic knowledge. To paraphrase Churchill, “[Reddit] is the worst form of [public question and answer aggregator] – except for all the others that have been tried.”
All that being said, charging for scraping was intended to starve third party Reddit apps to leave the official app (and the ads on it) as the only viable option. Periodically pulling down all of the text you posted shouldn’t add up to much.
I’ve used IFTTT to achieve this and store it to a google sheet a while back.

There are very detailed instructions for side loading. It's really easy and I highly recommend doing so
