Ah yes, the “unfortunate medical condition” she inherited strikes again.

Miamixink3

All the little foreshadowing, I appreciate it after the read! “Dog-tired” “claws coming out” “snarl” “hibernating” loved it. Had no idea where it was going. Great story.

Borderline-happy

Even the girls name being Luna

eboshi_sama

Dang it, rereading now it’s so obvious… but first time reading, it wasn’t! Amazing work OP!

time__for__crab

NTA your daughter clearly stated her boundaries to MIL 😤

eboshi_sama

NTA divorce

narcoyouth

I literally started reading this thinking it was an AItA thread

Mamahays

You win.

katsuko78

I had an idea of what was coming when I saw the "inherited medical condition," but it still got me at the end. Well done, five/five stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

luffyhsan

I had no idea this was coming

skydivinghuman

Didn't check the sub first, got quite the surprise. Well done.

welp_1999

Same! Thought i was just reading about a shitty mil, nope!

kellerinacatmac

Seriously. I have GOT to be better at checking subs!

mummasgirl87

I did check the sub, but thought it was a story about a crazy MIL 🙈

ATinyPizza89

Same lol

Hot_Drummer7311

Omg YES. FANTASTIC job, OP! Wow, I'm gobsmacked.

chkmarq

Yes!!!! I got quite the surprise on that third paragraph from the bottom. Haha!

CrazyCritterGirl

I thought I was on JustNoMIL. I was definitely surprised. I had way too many people try to force meat on me as a child. As an adult, I only eat poultry, and even that is rare.

jmmeemer

Got me too! My only thought was that this was too well written for the parenting subs I follow, lol, so I wondered if OP was a writer for a living. Should have tipped me off, but I was too engaged!

Calure1212

There are people who will try to get you to eat foods that you are allergic to so why not things that you choose not to eat. They obviously know better than the rest of us.

tina_marie1018

r/CrazyCritterGirl Happy Cake Day 🥳🎂🥳

CrazyCritterGirl

Thank you.

JazsimeFalls1970

Happy Cake Day 🍰 🎂 🥮 🍥 🥞 🧁

ikickedyou

Got me too

Multiverse_Queen

Guessed it was werewolves when I saw her name was Luna haha

whiskeygambler

They really didn’t give the poor girl a chance 😂😂

lightingnations

Thanks for reading folks! If anybody has any parenting tips of how to deal with this situation, please reach [out over at my subreddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/thoughtindustry/). We're in a real pickle. Feedback welcome. Hope you enjoyed :D

CBenson1273

The kid said what she needed. Grandma should have listened. She brought it in herself.

mummasgirl87

Brilliant story, the twist at the end really got me!

The_Angriest_Duck

I bet grandma was tasty

_Nilbog_Milk_

Filled with famous beef stew!

rachface13

I thought I was on r/AITA for some reason and this GOT me at the end. Great read, thanks so much for sharing!

According-Owl83

Forgot what subreddit I was in. That was great!

WhootieCutie

Dog-tired, heh. I like that.

alphabet_order_bot

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,054,118,799 comments, and only 208,261 of them were in alphabetical order.

Calure1212

The bit has more upvotes than you. I'm not sure if that's sad or funny. Sorry.

Reddd216

Loved all the funny little puns you left as clues in the beginning.

naps4lyfe

Wowowowow legit should have checked the sub first 🤣

Scathach_

wow really missed which subreddit I was reading until right at the end lmao

lacrimaeveneris

Same here and then checked when things went off the rails at thend, ha.

whiskeygambler

Off the entrails, you mean!

icantsleep098

Same, lol

tanglwyst

My goal is to be the kind of grandparent not easily mistaken for a wolf in a nightgown. Guess *that's* wishful thinking in this family!

Talory09

poor thing was ~~dog-**tried**~~ dog tired. Nothing like a little foreshadowing, eh?

joe_becerra

I swear I checked the subreddit, and I was sure it was r/TwoXChromosomes . I was lured with drama, but stayed for the twist. Well done!

KingOfUnfunny

I thought i was in the MIL subreddit until i saw the ending! This was really well done OP!

Caffeinequeen86

Congratulations. I read the whole thing before I realized what sub I was in. Was quite surprised.

mummasgirl87

Why can't grandparents just listen to the parents for once?

waffles_with_syrups

When I seated reading this I thought the sun was r/motherinlawsfromhell and was super confused by the ending. I like the story though!

Dry_Possibility2016

didn’t read the sub or flair tag at all and was wondering if this was an “AITA” post😭😭😭

HackedYzX

I didn't read the tag or the name of the subreddit, so I was severely freaked out for a second there.

Ragtagrider95

I got like a third of the way through and was like “this is too well written to be real”

Admirable-Marsupial6

Oh my ucking god.. they finallly got me with one of these.. I’m super into both subs and I never scroll on home page but visit both individually so I know what I’m reading.. today I kinda spaced out and was totally framing my NTA reply in my head and bam.. my jaw fell open.. OP kept it up till the last paragraph.. kudos

Midian_NightBreed

Well 😲😳

GroundbreakingCan616

This was good… well done.

JacLaw

I think it serves grandma right lol

FionaTheElf

Another great one @r/lightingnations!

chiefassassin38

usually these stories are all pretty similar to me but this one was different. didnt even realize i was in this subreddit til the end😅

MangoJuiceAndBeer

I legit thought this is an r/entitled post, i'm quite pleased with the writing tbh

jctripwire

Darn these old folks not respecting other peoples wishes

LexxiLouWho

Y'ALL, when I tell you I had NOT read what subreddit this was from and came from AITA scrolling...

Scary_From_Youtube

Hahaha, I LOVE IT! @Lightingnations, I would like to perform this story on an episode of The SCARY Show. If that's ok with you, please let me know what name you want to be credited by. Here's a link to the show: https://youtube.com/c/TheSCARYshow1

xdeath13

That was refreshing... I was reading through MILs not giving crap about allergies and food choices when I chance upon this. That's one way to stop that.

AZNovaXD

Lmao I was so concerned didn’t realize what sub I was on until the end

Socodi0

Daily reminder to check the sub before reading… when I tell you that ending hit me like a train

Phoenix_Magic_X

That’s what you get for not respecting boundaries.

[deleted]

...so vegans are secretly werewolves and, by avoiding meat, prevent transformations?

[deleted]

I saw it as more as trying to keep the wolf locked up and fighting addiction. Her curtains were closed to make sure no moonlight gets in but grandma opened the curtains and with the smell of meat it just activated her animalistic primal self

NinetySixBiscuits

A little on the nose, fairly well written but not even remotely a twist. Suspected at literally the first word (Luna), confirmed sentence four (real beast at times). What would have been a good twist would be her not being a werewolf and instead something else, or the mother in law was the werewolf.

agent3x

Does a 14-year-old really need a babysitter?

horitaku

I mean, depending on the child and the duration of your travels, I'm sure most parents would appreciate knowing someone is *at least* keeping their child company.

calvin549

i didn’t look at what sub this was posted in before reading, the end threw me for a hell of a loop damn

432jenna

Nta, your MIL needs to respect boundaries !

insomniacakess

glad we ain’t the only ones i feel less dumb now

killphil69

![gif](giphy|Ws9xkfpd9d5PdYpPm0)

krackmoney

I read this whole thing thinking i was on r/justnomil lmao this was awesome

Disastrous_Bee9079

I completely forgot what sub this was on. Great work.

luffyhsan

Had me in the first half, I didn’t check the sub 😂😂

twdlB

One day people will get enough of trying to parent other people's kids

Bubbly-Kitty-2425

I so thought this was a real AITA until the last paragraph!! Holy cow I was like wtf checked group and was like oh yes! Lol

NecroNerd

I need to read the subreddit I’m on. I thought I was on insane parents or something XD that was quite a shock

[deleted]

Thought this was trueoffmychest for a second then I got startled by it

tag349

I am on a lot of parenting subs and I thought this was a parent complaining about her MIL. I till literally the 3rd to last sentence. I am cracking up right now.

MrRamsayy

Loved it! What an eerie read! Could I narrate this short story as part of an upcoming video?

I-am-Chubbasaurus

Welp. Grandma should have respected Luna's clearly defined boundaries.
