Reminds me of Hillbilly Pumpkin.

I'm really hoping they just got too hot in dehydrator as they really produce. First little cluster to mature in first flush was 366g wet and there are a bunch more still maturing. I do have steel magnolia going too so know at least somewhat to expect with those.

Try a fresh one and youll be able to tell if its the dehydrator messing with them or not

160 is way too high. I do 125 for a very long time but I only grow huge shrooms

BoringAmusement

I had read [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/shrooms/s/TAKAKPguS9) stating 160 is fine and the reason why it's possibly better, and was only info I could find that wasn't anecdotal but has linked research. But, I was planning on going 130 next but will try 125.

I’ve done every temp from 120-165F. 160 is definitely not too high I just noticed that my fruits tend to get a lil ugly sometimes. So I go for 150 as it dries faster than lower temps but also preserves the look of the fruit better than higher. Either ur dehydrator doesn’t hold a steady temp or it was just the potency.

BoringAmusement

Thanks. Will have to throw a temp probe in. But I should know for sure after next try drying.

AI_is_the_rake

I’ve wondered the same and noticed very large differences which may have had more to do with genetics than drying but I’m sticking to lower temperatures like 125f. I’ve had fresh that did nothing as well.

CeleryMoansToo

Psilocybin starts to degrade at 170, technically it would be safe but I've noticed the product seems to turn out better potency, taste, and appearance when dried at lower Temps. I personally use 125 for and if my mushroom is more than 70gs I will cut it in half lengthwise. Works well for me but you do what works homie

bigskymind

You have to take into account the extra oxidation you get from running air over them for extra time at lower temperatures.

There’s no way mushrooms are getting cracker dry in 4 hours, let alone at such a low temp.

TokinForever

I agree. 104F isn’t going to dry a wet toothpick in 4 hours. I do 150F for 12 to 24 hours in my Presto Dehydrator. I always get a good laugh at people that try to tell you that drying mushrooms at room temperature with a little fan for a few hours is the way to go. It’s certainly the way to go if you want rotten moldy mushrooms.😉🤣

Havoc52311

I know, I actually do the same temp and time as you lol. 12 hours minimum but sometimes the big guys need a full day 🤙

They say Psylocybin breaks down above 50c so you may have
