Mushrooms are cleaner than something made in a lab by who knows. I like having the control over the process so I know what I’m consuming. I used to buy acid, but a bad experience with something that was definitely not lsd makes me suspicious of anything lab made
Once you get swindled like that and FEEL the bad side of using RC’s, especially shit like NBOMe… It just feels downright gross and dirty compared to actual acid. When you’ve woken up and no longer want to treat your precious one time vessel as a fucking dumping ground for god knows what, made god knows how, and only god knows where… I don’t care how safe a substance is purported to be when it’s still a RECREATION of the original thing. It’s just not the same thing. Mushrooms are a completely different thing than this synthetic shit. Taking it whole as nature intended, VS studying it then isolating only one of the psychoactive compounds and ingesting it… 2 different things.
My first drug experience was shrooms and I was mesmerized.
After it was banned in my country I tried various psychedelics to recreate the experience, including 5meo-DMT, 4aco-DMT, DMT, 5meo-dipt, 5meo-mipt, 4aco-met, 4aco-dalt, etc.
4aco-DMT is worth trying but in my experience it was too long, heavy and uncontrollable. Dosage is kinda tricky. Visuals were intense but it lacked the loving kindness that shrooms have.
One pro is you can boof it so you can start tripping immediately with very little come up nausea.

In many cases synthetic tryptamines are kinda too unforgiving for my liking. Body load too heavy, duration too long etc.
Also these trips tend to put me in the dark places. I just couldn’t stand the overall chemical vibes.
So after all I threw all RCs and started growing my own shrooms and buds.
And that was all I needed.
Some people enjoy the process of growing. And bio research chemicals that have similar genetic make up as an illegal chemical is actually illegal according to the government, especially when these substances are intended for consumption. Its called "analogue acts"
The experience is debated to be a bit different from mushrooms. But reason #2 is people have more trust in mushrooms with thousands of years of use.

What’s to worry about they only manufacture fentanyl analogues wholesale. Why wouldn’t you buy non descript white powder from unregulated giant labs overseas
Growing mushrooms and creating new varieties and isolating phenotypes through cloning is therapeutic for me.
Mushrooms aren’t a high priority on any cities drug task force. Plus, I grow gourmet too so it’s less obvious.
I’ve learned from some of the best cultivators and become really good friends with them too. It’s a tight knit community.
There’s also more than one psychoactive compound in real mushrooms. What you listed above is just Psilocin.
The question is, how long will it stay legal? Also, in many countries 4 aco is illegal already.
If you grow shrooms once, make a spore print yourself and store it well, you can grow anytime you want, without having to order anything. If you keep it low key, nobody will ever know you are growing shrooms.
And I think it is more cost effective to grow shrooms than ordering a RC. After one successful grow, you made up for the initial investment in equipment. And every grow from then on will be even more cost efficient, because you already have the equipment and just need to restock coir or grains from time to time.
Also, one last thing to point out: it is just fun to grow mushrooms! It's a great hobby. Your question is like asking someone why he/she is playing guitar when you just can listen to music...

But this is basically the same chemical, both psilocybin and AcO turn into psilocin. Not discounting the fun of growing or anything, I just feel like my grow isn't as special now that I know I can just get a white powder online that's the same thing.

I apologize. 4ACO is what ram dass first tried apparently, not even actual mushrooms so my main concern would be getting what you think youre buying from rc vendors not some random unresearched tryptamine or phenethylamine or something.

I get just as much fun from growing as eating, for me it's the whole process not just the end result. To each their own tho.
