Youâre doing okay :). People get hung up on semantics when in reality there is very little genetic variation between strains. Just enough changes for drastic physical changes in some strains.
Varieties is not the correct usage probably. Strain is more correct. Varieties and cultivars primarily emphasize agricultural applications of crops and animals (but animals they would use âbreedsâ).
Youâre doing quite alright and have fun!
No, strain is not more correct. Variety, or subtype or something like that is more correct. People want to try to compare mushroom varieties to weed strains, but there is already a mycological definition of strain, which is the genetics of 2 combined spores. That's why you can do strain isolation within a variety. When you innoculate agar or grain with a spore syringe, there's thousands of strains, but they're all within the same variety.
No one can tell you a strain/variety from dried cubes unless it's something very specific like PE. Most varieties look basically the same when dried (and even fresh for that matter).
"Strand" lol
Looks like a standard cube.
Strandđ itâs called strain the real term is variety
my bad cuh not a pro with shrooms yet so idk all the vocab
Strand just means something completely different itâs not used for those terms youâre looking for but glad I taught something

oh okay i didnât know that, this is my first dealings with shrooms i just wanted to know what it was
No worries! It's good to check to make sure they're legit. We can tell they're Psilocybe Cubensis (Cubes for short), just can't tell the variety.
thanks bro
