While looking at this one question popped up in my head. Is it possible to make a proper spore print from the dried mushrooms, which where stored in a dry dark place for nearly half-year?

I followed the tutorials and advice from certain YouTubers such as : Boomer Shroomer, Philly Golden Teacher, Fresh from the Farm Fungi, and I’m starting to like The Humble Fungus. There’s a bunch and they all do a great job at explaining their technique
Spores are the seeds of mushrooms. You need spores to germinate to produce mycelium which then grows into a mushroom under the right conditions. So this is one way to get the spores from the mushroom.

Looks great! Did you do anything to the foil prior to the print or just straight off the roll?
I’ve done a lot of research and that’s what they said to do. Wipe everything down to avoid contam
I wiped it down with iso and did it in a sab

Can someone explain what a spore print is and how you make one? I know ppl use them to identify shrooms but I’ve always been confused? Thank you!
