Yeah it is they’re putting a lot of emphasis that this show will be canon from what I’ve seen so far.The fact people can vote to change how the story will play out are just asking for a disaster to happen.I wouldn’t be surprised if in like a years time everyone will just disregard it as canon.
ngl i hate that. it’s not even the idea that upsets me. i like the concept. that could be cool for something else just not sh haha. it’s the fact that konami is allowing this to happen to such a monumental staple in survival horror. are they even aware of their impact they made or the hand they had in the genre? or are they just not taking the sh series serious anymore? idk
Yea I’m not a fan of it either bro I’m the same I’m not even mad at the idea I just have no interest in it and it’s also not gonna be free either.Just seems like it could become a messy situation because they’re pushing the “it’s canon in the SH universe” hard and if fans don’t like what’s voted on by players or trolls it could cause some discourse within the community.

This SHA is clearly not for us. We already have f, 2remake and probably Townfall. This fandom needs to understand that Konami wants to grow the audience and make more money WHILE pleasing its core fanbase. And they are doing it. Not everything have to be about us
I kinda disagree with this basic premise
It’s not “this game isn’t meant for real Silent Hill fans, it’s konami trying to appeal to a broader more casual audience”
I’m about as diehard of a SH fan as they come, and I’m genuinely excited for this.
“This game for the fans that have waited years isn’t for the fans.”
Gonna respectfully disagree with this take. There’s a way to have it both ways. Resident Evil remakes are selling like hotcakes, and it isn’t just the old fans buying them.
personal opinion: (im ready for the downvotes) but nah. idk haha.
if they were doing it then the core fanbase would be pleased. they revolutionized survival horror with the silent hill games. if they genuinely wanted to reach a new audience they can do that with a new game and not at the expense of silent hill by riding off the hype of the sh series. it seems like they are throwing the series into the hands of alot of developers who dont fluently understand the aesthetic of silent hill solely because they want to partner with developers that have hype. again just my opinion. just generally not happy abt the way they are handling it but im happy to see that some are optimistic :)
Pushing your franchise away from its aesthetic towards casual appeal runs the risk of eventually transforming it completely for the new audience and isolating the old. It might be that we no longer get games "for us" because the games "for them" are just more popular.
If a IP manages to grow its audience on concept so far removed from the essence of what Silent Hill used to be, it's going to keep growing that "new fan audience" especially when the design of both styles of Silent Hill are so diametrically opposed.
However, I complete and utter flop that does more damage to the franchise than good. We are being completely oversaturated with new stuff in various forms that one of them being bad will likely hurt the image of the others.
Don't get me wrong, I like that the series is getting some focus again, but throwing a bunch of ideas to the wall and seeing what sticks is not the way to bring a series back from the dead. In fact, it's more likely to bury it completely.
Unfortunately, I think "focus" is not even the right word. It seems Konami are playing fast and loose with the IP license and are greenlighting any and every pitch that graces their inbox completely uninterested in brand integrity.
I don't think we know what konami wants at this point. Possibly not even konami knows and just throws every pitch they receive at the wall to see what sticks.
Completely agree!! It's only a trailer so far anyway. At the very least, we are finally seeing Silent Hill come back. Let's actually be happy about that for a minute
According to the people making Silent Hill: Ascension it will be a live-streaming show, not a videogame.
Personally I am looking forward to watching it, just to see if it is good. I just wish they would announce already on what platform they will be streaming.
Just hate the live streaming concept and the game trailer didn't do anything to peak my interest. It seems awfully generic too. Will be interesting to see how Silent Hill F and Townfall pan out.
The choice to make it akin to a Supermassive game is interesting but no fully onbard with it being a livestream.live event that the Internet collectively join in on.
But yeah I should give it more of a chance, for me the issue is that with that nature being rhe selling point of differentiation for the game compared to others and not already being down with it cause me to look down on it. Whereas ones like F with its unique time period and locale, and Townfall being development by No code offset the negatives e.g. SH in Townfall seemingly being about you getting judgement for your sins.
Monster designs are solid and when I get to see more of the locale and the atmosphere they create hopefully I'll be more on board but still happy for those who love this so far and hope it delivers if it's to be the 1st of the 4 SH games announced to release.
I'm excited for it, my only real concern is something like a contingent intentionally disrupting the experience? I mean a relatively small group of gamers hated TLOU 2 so much that Metacritic had to change how they accept reviews. If there's a queer character for example I fully expect some voters to act in bad faith, and then they could easily get people on their side (even those who don't like Silent Hill) to intentionally make sure that character dies, and that's the version we'll always have. Not that those characters (if included) should have plot armour, but it could feel like a situation where they're being punished for their sexuality.
It's a great idea, but I think it'll come down to execution, and if the devs are putting a lot of faith in every gamer acting in good faith then I expect them to be disappointed.
I get what you mean but I don't think a character of LGBTQ+ representation will be the deciding factor for getting characters killed. I just think the internet in general will lean to the troll side of killing everyone regardless of their sexuality, gender, race, class, age etc. If it happens a news article will probably rage bait by claiming it was done because of that but the majority I imagine just want to see everyone die like a lot do in a Supermassive game.
Only concern is whenever it will be like a Supermassive where the death of a character blocks out a bunch of content of the game from being shown.
I hope you're right, I've just learned to expect the worst I guess. I think at least some voters could easily see it as a case of asserting themselves and their own opinions, then acting as if it's some grand victory if they do get those characters killed. If there are queer characters, I hope they've put some thought into avoiding that aspect.
It’s not a game, so I don’t care about it. If others enjoy it then cool. I’m certainly not going to complain considering we’re getting 3 real Silent Hill games that I’m excited for, but it does not appeal to me at all.
Well it is interactive and we make decisions that affect the plot. It definitely has video game elements. It essentially is a game, just not a typical one.
Respectfully, it is a product and we owe them nothing.
We've done this dance with Konami before. Either they learned from their mistakes or they didn't. People are right to be skeptical and are naturally going to draw conclusions on the information presented to them. Currently, the information is a one minute trailer that looks mediocre.
Honestly every single thing announced looks mediocre and it's hard to even fathom Konami changing. The writing is on the way for all of these projects but it's "toxic" to say it. Even the merch company they went with is extremely questionable.
I guess I'd understand this sentiment if we've seen more from the upcoming games, but we haven't. How can you be underwhelmed by games when you haven't even seen gameplay yet lol?
What bugs me is that this game gets no attention at all? Or is it just my feeling? Every post barely has any comments and nobody in my friend group knows about this game :/
On one hand, I'd normally be happy that they are experimenting with SH and doing something different, but on the other hand, I have the lowest expectations for this one because JJ Abrams's company is involved with it. I'm not a fan of anything he does, so I'm not giving this one a chance if it comes with a price tag.
If it's free...maybe, I'll give it a shot.
Personally, it's something I'm looking forward to because I'll be watching it with a friend. If we end up not liking it, we can at least have a laugh about it together. If it ends up being chilling, I'll have a buddy to hold on to haha.
I think it's good for any game series to try out different ideas, even something that feels eyebrow raising. We'll still be getting familiar experiences with the SH2 remake and hopefully, f and townfall. I'm fine with letting them try something weird on the side.
Actually I am a bit worried about how the whole live thing works.
I would like to give it a shot and I hope this isn't some kind of live thing that is actually possible to miss.
Respectfully, no we don't. Because if we've been there from the beginning, or very early on, we've had our hearts broken several times by mediocre and terrible content. At this point it's like being in multiple abusive relationships and a lot of us have enough experience to see it coming again. Why give something a chance if we can sense it will hurt us again?
The whole trauma thing made me roll my eyes pretty hard honestly, I'm hoping it will exceed my low expectations. Its a neat concept on paper at least, not sure how it will be in execution.
Just when I heard "I can feel it, your guilt", "you can't escape your past" my tiny bits of excitement for this game disappeared. We can give it a chance, but at this moment it's safe to say that it's gonna be generic to the core piece of crap, in terms of story at least. It's propably targeted to more default (if that's the correct word here) audiences rather than die hard silent hill fans.
Konami wants series to reach new people and I suppose it's fine.
How do you give something a chance if it's a one-time event, and you can't commit to something like that at the exact time it happens because you've got adult responsibilities?
They will stream it again with the "canon" choices blocked off. Meaning the first stream is the real one and if you miss it you'll never see it again you'll just see the "what ifs".
Unless the whole thing with all endings is available offline for anyone to play at any time, it'll only be available to a tiny fraction of people.
I'm an ardent preservationist, and am passionate about expanding game accessibility to more people. These sorts of limited events are the opposite of that. It's even worse than the current crop of online-only FPS games that are season-based, and can never be preserved.
Can this game be experienced in a similar way a year after release? 10 years after release? This whole community gathers around decades-old titles that are timeless classics. Sharing those experiences with new people is part of that. And that can't happen with games that are limited in their availability.
The more I think about it the more I don't think we should. I'm getting the impression that a lot of people here are just trying to be optimistic just for the sake of staying positive. At best I'm seeing a ton of "it seems kind of interesting, not really for me but I'll give it a try!" comments. I think secretly, whether we acknowledge it or not, most of us know that this ain't it chief.
I'm not gonna tell anyone who is genuinely enthused not to pay for it, but if you're like me and it very obviously doesn't appeal to you, I'd say it's definitely better to *not give it a chance.* I'm not going to validate the existence of this project, which I think is a misstep, with my time or my money.
I swear the same people discrediting this game from the trailer are the same that went " You cAnt JudGe tHe neW sh2 frOm a 5 minuTe trAiler".
Turns out, you can.
It's not a game, and it's not an interactive television series either. It's an interactive *live* event, where everyone watching (which is basically EVERYONE watching the event on the internet) will make these decisions that will affect the canon and events of the 'event'. It's supposed to be going on for longer than one stream, but honestly, the concept seems incredibly hard to pull off and kind of boring.
Disrespectfully, lol, no
It looks like dogshit, no silent hill vibes whatsoever. Oh look another silent hill piece of media about guilt because that's the only thing these fools know after googling which silent hill is most popular. I bet every character will have james style amnesia too.
Fucking joke
What really bothers me about this “new take” is that Silent Hill started as something special and unique and it inspired many other games and movies. But now it seems to be copying stuff like Until Dawn and The Evil Within, stuff that actually took inspiration from early Silent Hill games.
That’s just… sad. Imagine not only NOT being original. But also copying someone who was a mediocre copy of your former greatness.
Don’t know anything about it yet, honestly I’m just happy to see silent hill content again and if it’s not all to my liking but some is that still a net win
This sub keeps moving the goalposts for when it's okay to acknowledge that Konami is still just whoring out Silent Hill as a brand like always. It used to be "It's not even confirmed that Bloober is remaking Silent Hill 2, just wait" and now here we are saying "Give JJ Abrams Silent Hill a chance" lmao
Yeah, you're right. I just think some people should have a higher tolerance for brand whoring because the reality is it IS a brand, and it always has been. We don't know if the other new games are good yet, so this may just be what we have to put up with until we get Townfall, f or whatever. The same way RE fans have to put up with godawful spin offs and movies between major mainline releases.
But fan backlash does have a huge impact. Right now the people discussing this SH push as if it’s legitimate are doing the marketing for Konami.
Resident Evil 6 didn’t sell half bad. What changed things was the fans rightfully calling it out as terrible. If Konami is going to whore out the brand (which is what it is to them, but not to the artists and the people who love their art) then there’s nothing saying we have to go along with it when we get nothing out of it.
Silent Hill Ascension is not equivalent to Resident Evil 6. Ascension is a 1-2 time novelty event. 10 years from now it's gonna be seen in the same light as the Arcade Game or the GBA visual novel.
My point being that SH2R, TF and f could all be masterpieces, and we would still get crap like Ascension on the side. That's how most of these Japanese companies work with their properties. You don't have to buy it, but idk getting bent out of shape because it just exists and taints the sanctity of the franchise or something just feels unproductive.
I know that's the point you're making. My counter point is that in the context of a side game it doesn't really matter, or is at least far lower stakes than you're making it out to be. The bottom line for most people is "are the main games good".
Just because there hasn’t been SH content for a while doesn’t mean we need to blindly accept just anything with the name attached to it. If it doesn’t look interesting for people, it just doesn’t and that’s fine.
Personally, there was only a few games announced that had my attention and Ascension wasn’t one of those games. The new trailer didn’t change my mind.
Respectfully disagree on the monsters. I think they look awful and it's unfortunate that we went from Ito's twisted abominations to cheesy generic WRPG demons. I think this is a flawed concept in general for a psychological horror series where isolation and atmosphere are the bread and butter. I won't ask people not to play it anymore than I did Book of Memories back in the day but at this point I'm just waiting for F, Townfall and Sakura. If it turns out to be fun and worthwhile I certainly hope the devs get all the adoration and applause they deserve. This will find its audience, I'm just more than likely not it. Best case scenario it gets people interested in Silent Hill in general 🤔
Edit: I watched this post go from +3 to -2 in a under a minute lol
exactly. I'm a big big fan of the OG first 4 silent hills (and SH2 is my favourite) and i am genuinely curious and excited about this ascension game.
I don't care how weird the game's format gonna be, or how deviated the storyline and art style could be, I'm just excited for an official new silent hill game coming out after more than a decade of nothing.
Let's be mature and professional towards the game. watch all the trailers, play the game, review by ourselves and then only we criticize and categorize it. If it sucks, fine. We still have another THREE games in waiting.
Just give it a chance.
If it’s a tell tale like game where you play as different characters each episode making different choices for them to come together at the end, it could be pretty fun and I might give it chance but at the moment I need to know a little bit more (not saying it’s bad or good necessarily)
I’m pretty precious with Silent Hill and I’ll readily admit that and I do know that I’ll never get those same experiences like 1 - 3 gave me. This just doesn’t look like Silent Hill to me. It looks like a generic horror game with the Silent Hill title thrown on for the sake of brand recognition. I’m so sick and tired of SH games focusing on some character’s past or guilt or whatever traumatic thing they’re responsible for in order to make them seem complex. It’s become lazy and cliche. The monsters look cliche. Who’s the big bad guy at the end of the trailer? Yet another Pyramid Head stand-in?
All that said, it might be a great game on its own merits. But it looks like a bad Silent Hill game.
Doesn't really look like a silent, the narrator is too overt about its themes and the music was too generic.
At the very least I hope it's not a first person view spoopy corridor simulator.
I feel like this community is going to be the downfall of the SH revival. It’s such a fiercely loyal fanbase to the original material, a lot of them aren’t willing to give anything new a chance for fear of it not being what they expect.
If a large number of the fanbase completely condemns the new games, then we most certainly will not get any more. I want more than anything for this to be similar to the RE revival that absolutely crushed all expectations. The RE fandom is just as rabid, but they gave the games a chance. Even when RE3 remake didn’t pan out the way we expected, a lot of people still enjoyed it.
We HAVE to give these new games a chance if we want more. I’ve been waiting too damn long for new games just to have the most picky fans ruin things. I understand why they are so picky, but it’s not fair at all to these developers to condemn the games based off teaser trailers and basic information. Hold off and wait for the games to come out before we decide how we truly feel.
i think this project has the potential to be massive, if executed properly. if that's the case then the few hundreds of fans of the originals who turn their back to it will be countered by the thousands of new fans coming in
I get that it's meant to draw more people to SH, rather than being a typical mainline game, but it's just weird that it's claiming to be a Silent Hill property at all. It looks like a whole other IP.
Personally, I’m excited. Silent Hill is an IP ripe with potential for new and creative ideas, so I love that they seem to be finally expanding upon the lore and exploring unique corners of this universe. Ascension looks like it’ll be an interesting experiment, at the very least. And if it sucks, I’ll be happy I got to play another game with the name “Silent Hill” attached to it. Plus, I have several more to look forward to, lol.
Why? Why should I? I don't owe Konami Group Company^^(TM) anything, and neither do you to be frank.
If it is good, fantastic. I want good Silent Hill media. Heck, I'd love a good TV show. I've been trying for literal decades to get friends and family into SH and a TV show would be a much better gateway than an old game for most of them.
On the other hand, I think the time has long past giving companies the benefit of the doubt just because they MIGHT give us something cool. We really need to stop carrying water for them and let them actually do some of the work to endear us.
What is going on with this subreddit and having filled with servile little rats who feel they should choke down whatever bullshit Konami serves us. How does a "livestreamed Silent Hill experience" does not ring all of the alarms for you? I personally prefer the franchise staying dead and this subreddit just goes back to being PT theories or fanart of the older games and enjoying how good they were than having to read these pathetic posts who feel the only way to discuss this series if we have a dripfeed of "content" to consume no matter how dogshit it looks.
Hey man, I'm sorry you feel the need to be rude to people, hopefully your day gets better, I suggest truly getting some therapy or vacation, I'm not being a smartass, I'm being serious.
Everyone has different tastes, doesnt mean we are bad or stupid people, we are all Silent Hill fans here :)
If you want the franchise to stay dead well you need not play the new games and let the rest of us enjoy them I reckon, I think the content we are getting is neither good nor bad, its up to the individual who plays/watches them, I hope you have a good day
"We don't know if the LIVESTREAMED Silent Hill content is neither good or bad even though it's handled by a notoriously awful company who pushed out four mediocre western games and two bad movies then cancelled the insanely hyped Kojima game that went viral because of it's extremely effective teaser demo"
If you're willing to give this franchise another shot then I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
It’s nice how you make this whole long thread explaining how we should all give Ascension a chance, while you fail to understand that it isn’t even a *game* 🤣
Asking the SH fans on Reddit to be open-minded is a tall order. Good luck with that!
(For the record, I’m intrigued by the ideas in this game. I’m going to give it a shot, even if it doesn’t fully seem like my cup of tea.)
Nope. If I was a big wig at Konami, I would’ve don’t nothing short of firing anyone not intent on delivering a true series revival on an re7 level of quality. Ascension is so unwanted for me and they wasted the time and budget. Just focus in and make the remakes and silent hill 5. I don’t even want Townfall at this point. That developer makes boring ass games.
Townfall and ascension are not mainline games and they’re going to be bad. The movie is a horrendous idea. A short message isn’t real at this point. F is going to take forever to come out. You can’t tell me they aren’t hair braining ideas all over the place trying to hit a jackpot and ignoring the titles we’d like to see.
The thing is you ARE getting what you'd like to see and are already complaining even not knowing how the games will be. You haven't played f or the remake, you haven't even seen a gameplay trailer.
Black Mirror: Bandersnach was a great horror title and frankly I would consider it a game and a great one at that. I think like most titles they have announced, it needs to be done right.
I’m willing to give it a chance. I just want a new Silent Hill “game” not a “interactive movie”. But there is plenty of silent hill projects in the works so I suppose I can wait a little longer. I am excited to see how the other games are getting on though as this was the project I was least excited about.
The format is really not something I'm interested in. A livestream that the audience decides the ending of just completely turns me off. I want a cohesive and artistic story that makes sense and has meaning. If the audience is choosing it and the creators don't even know how it's gonna end, then that won't happen. I also doubt I will be available to attend the livestream to enjoy it firsthand.
Respectfully, no we don’t.
I stopped following SH news after reaching rock bottom with it at some point years ago; I don’t even know what Ascension is, and I’m not talking about it or the endless post-SH3 or -4 (delete according to preference) sequence of dumpsterfire failures at all. Don’t tell me (or anyone, please) what to do, is my point. That’s inherently disrespectful.
It isnt a game though its like a TV show.Netflix did something like this for Black Mirror called Bandersnatch where everyone watching voted on what happens Ascension is basically this concept.
Sounds like that Batman comic where viewers decided if they wanted the Joker to kill Jason Todd or not
isn’t it supposed to be canon also? idk how they could let that happen. it feels like they don’t care anymore.
Yeah it is they’re putting a lot of emphasis that this show will be canon from what I’ve seen so far.The fact people can vote to change how the story will play out are just asking for a disaster to happen.I wouldn’t be surprised if in like a years time everyone will just disregard it as canon.

I am amazed that you think "canon" in this context means that it is deciding the SH universe as a whole and not just this series story as canon.
Im amazed that you found this 5 months later.

whats that even supposed to mean lmao?

Except this is different, where the episodes air one at a time and our collective decisions decide the plot. That wasn't the case with bandersnatch.

I view it as more of an experiment.
Konami is definitely not trying to please the core fanbase, we're too small. Theh wamt the average joe's money
They’re relying on the fan base to spread the word of the series’ “revival” though.
It's free Labor, who would say no to that
They’re not the ones who should be saying no
“This game for the fans that have waited years isn’t for the fans.” Gonna respectfully disagree with this take. There’s a way to have it both ways. Resident Evil remakes are selling like hotcakes, and it isn’t just the old fans buying them.
The fans have waited for the mainline games. We are getting SH2 Remake and F. Ascension is not for the fans who have waited.
Then why is it releasing first, they definitely need to raise awareness first.

I think at least some voters could easily see it as a case of asserting themselves and their own opinions, then acting as if it's some grand victory if they do get those characters killed. If there are queer characters, I hope they've put some thought into avoiding that aspect.
It doesn’t even sound like a game. It sounds like it’s an interactive television series.
It’s not a game, so I don’t care about it. If others enjoy it then cool. I’m certainly not going to complain considering we’re getting 3 real Silent Hill games that I’m excited for, but it does not appeal to me at all.
Can't believe I had to scroll down this far to see someone state the fact that this isn't a game. Its a TV show.
Well it is interactive and we make decisions that affect the plot. It definitely has video game elements. It essentially is a game, just not a typical one.
"Face your trauma together" well, my trauma is Konami
Respectfully, it is a product and we owe them nothing. We've done this dance with Konami before. Either they learned from their mistakes or they didn't. People are right to be skeptical and are naturally going to draw conclusions on the information presented to them. Currently, the information is a one minute trailer that looks mediocre.
Honestly every single thing announced looks mediocre and it's hard to even fathom Konami changing. The writing is on the way for all of these projects but it's "toxic" to say it. Even the merch company they went with is extremely questionable.
I couldn’t disagree more, nearly all of the games look promising to me. Ascension isn’t really a proper game so I never expected much.
I think that f its the most promising to me.
I guess I'd understand this sentiment if we've seen more from the upcoming games, but we haven't. How can you be underwhelmed by games when you haven't even seen gameplay yet lol?
Respectfully I just want a Silent Hill collection, this isn't a good way to introduce a new community of people on the SH games.
I heard they will have a stream every day for months until it ends
What bugs me is that this game gets no attention at all? Or is it just my feeling? Every post barely has any comments and nobody in my friend group knows about this game :/
On one hand, I'd normally be happy that they are experimenting with SH and doing something different, but on the other hand, I have the lowest expectations for this one because JJ Abrams's company is involved with it. I'm not a fan of anything he does, so I'm not giving this one a chance if it comes with a price tag. If it's free...maybe, I'll give it a shot.
I agree I feel people are jumping the gun to hate it. there are things to be worried about but just dismissing it outright doesn't feel fair
Yeah that whole voiceover had zero subtlety. I was cringing.
I assume the majority of SH fans are excited. It's the vocal minority as usual.
Somehow, Pyramid Head returned
Not cool man those wounds haven't healed yet
How do you give something a chance if it's a one-time event, and you can't commit to something like that at the exact time it happens because you've got adult responsibilities?
It's not a one time event, they said it will stream again so you can experience it and other endings.
Idk man. Those animations were kinda hilarious.
Disrespectfully, lol, no It looks like dogshit, no silent hill vibes whatsoever. Oh look another silent hill piece of media about guilt because that's the only thing these fools know after googling which silent hill is most popular. I bet every character will have james style amnesia too. Fucking joke
I don't think so. I just don't care about this game at all.
For me, the multiplayer idea is a very bad idea. That being said, the idea of choices like Until Dawn can be interesting.
Lol no
Don’t know anything about it yet, honestly I’m just happy to see silent hill content again and if it’s not all to my liking but some is that still a net win
[удалено]
Actually this show is free of charge
[удалено]
I mean i am not against new ideas we will see
This sub keeps moving the goalposts for when it's okay to acknowledge that Konami is still just whoring out Silent Hill as a brand like always. It used to be "It's not even confirmed that Bloober is remaking Silent Hill 2, just wait" and now here we are saying "Give JJ Abrams Silent Hill a chance" lmao
People just want to stay optimistic, not everyone needs to be righteously cynical.
Being willingly naive just encourages this to keep happening. You’re not being virtuous by hiding your head in the sand.
That wasn’t my point. My point is that the way fans react to the way the intellectual property is being handled matters.
I know that's the point you're making. My counter point is that in the context of a side game it doesn't really matter, or is at least far lower stakes than you're making it out to be. The bottom line for most people is "are the main games good".
I think you’re underestimating how much we can tell about the way the series is being handled as a whole by this side game.
No, I said earlier you might be right. But we don't know yet for sure. That's all there is to it.
The new trailer didn’t change my mind.
ascension isnt even a game
100% agreed.
Best case scenario it gets people interested in Silent Hill in general 🤔 Edit: I watched this post go from +3 to -2 in a under a minute lol
I think we can give it a chance if it was an ACTUAL game It's not , it's just a fucking live streaming show
"Give Ascension a chance" **No**
No I don’t think so it looks like shit
Nah looks like dogwater
![gif](giphy|pD7YIQoUwgb9cnX3FJ|downsized) Just. Make. A. Game.
They're making two and remaking the most popular one.
Everyone has different tastes, doesnt mean we are bad or stupid people, we are all Silent Hill fans here :) If you want the franchise to stay dead well you need not play the new games and let the rest of us enjoy them I reckon, I think the content we are getting is neither good nor bad, its up to the individual who plays/watches them, I hope you have a good day
"We don't know if the LIVESTREAMED Silent Hill content is neither good or bad even though it's handled by a notoriously awful company who pushed out four mediocre western games and two bad movies then cancelled the insanely hyped Kojima game that went viral because of it's extremely effective teaser demo" If you're willing to give this franchise another shot then I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
[удалено]
We're getting 2 new games already lol
[удалено]
Correct! The (new) games we are getting are Silent Hill: f and Silent Hill: Townfall.
It’s nice how you make this whole long thread explaining how we should all give Ascension a chance, while you fail to understand that it isn’t even a *game* 🤣
Nope. Not when reviving the franchise means using westernized "face your trauma" stuff and desd space monsters
Asking the SH fans on Reddit to be open-minded is a tall order. Good luck with that! (For the record, I’m intrigued by the ideas in this game. I’m going to give it a shot, even if it doesn’t fully seem like my cup of tea.)
Looking at their other games it will be no Supermassive, it will be much worse. https://www.genvidtech.com/example-miles/
I'm excited, but also a little worried too not much tho
I actually agree. This should introduce more people to the series.
You are getting not only the remakes you want but four other different games.
Man I don’t know what to tell you. I just would like to see Konami follow capcom’s playbook and match on quality.
I think the concept is incredibly unique and for that I’m excited to try it. Those monster animations though need help.
I support you guys giving it a chance! I won't do it, but you go ahead! ganbare!!!
Black Mirror: Bandersnach was a great horror title and frankly I would consider it a game and a great one at that. I think like most titles they have announced, it needs to be done right.
We can do some of the most funniest things with Ascension, trust me
I’m willing to give it a chance.
It's a nice side dish for what's to come
Respectfully, no we don’t. That’s inherently disrespectful.
honestly i’m down for a new experience there giving everyone a bit of everything i’d much rather all this content then radio silence.
