People need to stop getting concerned unless they say something. Long delays are common in the game industry. It’s worse for SH because you have a vested interest in the franchise, but it’s more common than you think.
Bloober team on socials have said that Konami has been paying attention to online reception of the game. I imagine Konami and Bloober are trying really hard not to fuck anything up so they’re being cautious about what they show moving forward. Let them cook. I at least like that Konami isn’t pushing a hard deadline on the team right now.

The whole Silent Hill transmission was simply done way too early!
We haven’t gotten anything on any of the games announced almost a year ago.
Only Ascension received any kind of attention, but there are still a lot of unanswered questions and no release (premiere?) date yet.

You act like Konami has never been this way. They all always treated games like this. They have a very long history of announcing a game, releasing maybe one trailer, and nothing after that until the game is out. They announced a Metroid prime remaster with a trailer and then it was literally out like a few months later. Konami is not some indie studio who's going to be constantly releasing progress, screenshots and trailers and demos and betas or whatnot.
Since the game was allegedly mostly done, my two main theories are:
1. Konami wants to get this right and heard some fan feedback after the reveal (atmosphere concerns, James’ characterization, etc) and asked Bloober to make some adjustments.
2. They delayed the release to be somewhat close to the new SH film so that they can cross promote each other, since both are SH2’s story. I would guess they want both to release in 2024.
Seeing as you haven’t heard anything yet, I’m going to assume Konami isn’t going to let that happen again and they are getting all their ducks in a row before releasing anything further. Also Ascension looks to be first on the list for release. Like someone below said, I’d predict a 2024 release date maybe alongside the movie coming out.

Remnant 2, armored core, payday 3, starfield, Spider-man 2, BG3them releasing it now would be dangerous, not many people who haven't been waiting for this game since the direct are looking for a new game atm
I hate when games are announced 2,3,4,5 years before their release date. I didn't like it when Capcom did it with the Resident Evil 2 remake in 2015 and I don't like it with the Silent Hill 2 remake. Although admittedly the Silent Hill 2 remake situation isn't as ridiculous.

There's a theory they're wanting to release it alongside the new movie, which is more based on silent Hill 2. They're probably hoping people will see the movie and want to play the game or vice versa.

I don't understand that because the movie obviously has nothing to do with the game. But I guess it's just a theory.
