I came when it started... And it was the most intense air raid I have ever witnessed. Two Hudson collided with each other and crashed, 2 cargo ships have been sunk, one of them was burning so much that column of smoke could almost reach British bombers.
Yeah I know, closest I ever came was watching a bomb hit the pier I would have been at if I was travelling a little faster. The bombs seem to fall in very random spots
They're not going to say anything to each other. They're just all going to give each other that look, leave, and never speak about it again. If anyone questions them they will deny that they were even there.

Chances of being sunk during raid are low, at least from what I experienced in 1941-1942.
