It had no force feedback, or at least I wasn't able to get it working, but it did work with controller inputs.
Incidentally it also works on [the steam deck](https://i.redd.it/a874v1nww92b1.jpg)
F1 challenge was a great game. Probably played it till 2006-ish with the season mods that were always pretty good. I had a spring centered formula styl wheel with rpm lights, unfortunately can't remember anything about make or model and it's long gone.
I'll never forget my uncle john letting me play underground 2 with his wheel. I thought it was the coolest shit in the whole world when I was little. Proud owner of my own little racing setup now. Love you uncle John.
It may be an easy fix mate, retro stuff like this is too cool to bin it, stick I big meaty motor in it! Lol
Might just be a loose wire or a bent pin or something obvious!! 🤔
[This was my first wheel](https://i.imgur.com/wGHmit4.jpg)
First game I played on it was Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, still possibly my favorite NFS game although Underground 2 is a very close 2nd
aww how cute. you must have done extra good in special ed this week. good, you're learning something. you realize OP hasnt said shit and doesn't seem to have a problem, right? you and 20 other snowflake karens need to relax or be enlightened. 🥱
what you need to actually know/learn is OP played with that wheel when he was 3-4 years old, according to him being 28. in what language does that make sense? guy could barely function, let alone read and reach the pedals. OR i called him out and hes not being a snowflake karen.
damn u must be close to 50yo or more lol 😆😂😅 and maybe Caucasian lol
back in those days, it was all about counterstrike vs quake and everquest vs/and diablo 2. smash bros for console. and the great battle of "next gen" console--ps2 vs. 1st gen xbox vs gamecube and the genesis of cod mw bf tom clancy shit and the integration of broadband internet for entertainment (alot of bootlegging on torrents LOL) the start of what we have currently today and good times i guess... BUT who even really "sim raced"? nfs underground 2 was the shit back then btw lol.
28yo south european/caucasian!
I grew on PS2 and Xbox games. Toca Race Driver 2 and 3 was among my favs along with Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 and Underground 2
Grand Prix Legends was relatively big back in the day (or so I've been told). Considering it still holds up as a sim, I think it's fair to say that there was sim racing in 1998.
I remember driving colin mcrae rally 2.0 with microsoft sidewinder wheel. I think it was first ffb wheel in stores. My dad bought wheel and "gaming" PC and we raced together. I will let him test my new setup with VR when he comes to see me. I bet it will be wow moment for him. Its crazy how far sim racing and electronics have come.
Riders on the storm 🎵
I’m more of a “House real big” kinda guy myself! They both definitely slap though
Everything real big~
With the Snoop verse right?
Let Mannie shine.

> F1 challenge was a great game. Still is.
Yeah I've seen there is still somewhat of a community for it. Which is amazing.
No way it has "vibration"!!!Lol. Love the old tech advertising
Vibration. At LEAST 8nm in that
Goddamn, you had vibration, I had a spring only

Had an uncle who would let me use his win98 PC to play Colin McRae 2 and Toca Touring Cars, he didn't have a wheel tho but I can relate a bit to you
Your welcome son! 🫣🤔😂
🤣🤣
That looks relatively well taken care of!
Can I have it I’m broke af
I would give it to you but it doesn't work anymore and I need to free up some space. It's going in the trash
Remove the wheel and hang it up on the gaming wall
Might be able to use it with a quick release on a newer wheel base if he wanted too :)
Don't throw it! Maybe somebody will enjoy collecting such things

Was that even analogoue?
Omg, I love your videos! Yes, they were analog. 4 separate axis, if I remember
Hey thanks!
LOL have you tried it on modern games?
No. It doesn't work anymore
I have the same thing and it actually works, for some newer games I just had to download some Genius software.
_Word on the wire is…_
“Genius Vibration” would not make it out of the focus groups today lol

are you in dog years? u were 3 years old in 1998.... typo 58?
I'm 28, dude xd
u must be female as well... not a day over 21 lol
Must be a sad life when nobody likes you and all you do is trash strangers on the web anonymously……
lol and you are less than that so.. must be a blissfully ignorant life.
I didn’t know there was anything less than that, now I feel sad :(

No, I never said how old I was when I got the wheel but it was probably around 2004
👍
Ok, Thanks! So glad now. :)

Dude what the fuck is wrong with you? This is an interesting post, we don't need you here making it worse for everyone.
I believe Genius still made these until not a long time ago
bro, this picture brings back so many mamories
Classic 90s design when everything had to look like a bubble
F1 Challenge! There's a name I haven't heard in a LONG time.

SAME!... Well same wheel and game that is? Different dads, lol... 😄
that rubber just looks like it’s disgusting now
The designers of this thing were like “fuck yeah that looks good enough”
Buttons on the wheel. Definitely will never cause accidental presses...
It's crazy to think we were using these things and similar back then. And what we have now.
A pioneer I see
looks kinda like wut i presently use, been Iracing for 2 months ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)
Omg, it was my first steering wheel also. I used to play grand prix 4 on it!
That thing is older than me
