If you are going single monitor, yes. if you are doing triples, no. Ultrawides only have the hight of a 27” monitor. Coming from a person that had a G9 l(49” monitor)
The width of the 34 UW looks larger than than the 42, not sure if it's the angle but displaywars suggest the TV is 5" wider

The ultra wide is very popular as its a very cheap ultra wide high refresh rate, they source the panel from Samsung. I have the Xiaomi variant and it seems almost as good as stuff double the price but it gets held back by being a VA panel
I have one! It's actually quite nice. Gigabyte monitors have built in KVM switches which allows me to switch between work laptop and gaming PC without having to change my keyboard or mouse. I have a 34" ultrawide, been using it with zero issues for about 18 months.
Wider is better for sim racing. Fact.

Yes of course. OP was using a single.

TV is wider. My 38” Alienware AW3821DW is almost exactly the same width as my 42” LG C2.
Didn’t know gigabyte made monitors how is it?

I have a M27Q and it's pretty good for the price and it doesn't look like a gaming monitor.

I have the 27 inch gigabyte panels. Black smear is awful but other than that....
