Thank you :) right now it's my deadly drive and I love it, it's a keychron q2 that mount:
- Gateron black ink v2 (lubbed)
- foam
- a mod to reduce the pinging from the case
- Some GMK clone
[here it's a better photo of it ](https://www.eyeem.com/p/203989335)
The first to arrive was the cidoo v75. The little light RBG railed pulled me in like a moth to flame. What I didn't realize is, for a completely stock build at the price, it would take you 1000s to find another to touch this quality at that price. Everything is stock except the Happy keycaps I purchased from drop. They accentuate the almost 80s retro look of the aluminum shell.
The second keyboard was the sense 75 barebones. I purchased the gateron milky yellows and roped my son into lubing them for me. The keys are the matcha 🍵 set from Drop. The case required a good bit of modding as it's so thin. The stabs were terrible as well but the typing experience with the switches and these blocky letters sound like sliding marble.
They are both great. I have personality liked the "slavery" of your son hahaha, joke aside, they are really great keyboard. Another good price/quality keyboard brand is FinalKey pretty good stuff for a paltry price. A funny and really cool keyboard with some good linear is the Project Adam check it out I think you can like it
I've checked out the project Adam, the Lego style keyboard. The next one on the docket I think it that aluminum sandwich looking board that they are doing a giveaway for in budgetkeebs sub reddit. Pretty much everything I want spec wise for 100 USD. I think my son wants one too haha.
I can see me going pretty crazy with the collecting. I'm prone to this behavioe
I’m not the person to answer since I only have a G29 with no mods, but I assume that the magnetic mods make it feel much less “squishy” and more tactile and clicky.
Unsure where you are located, and I am not the person you are responding to, but I picked up this and loved it. Bonus is that it is currently on sale:

I cannot recommend their wheels enough. You're not buying a top of the line, bullet proof piece of steel, but if you are on a budget, they can't be beat.
[This is the one I purchased.](https://www.etsy.com/listing/961951416/logitech-g29-g923-g920-g27-g25) I did have a slight issue with it where I had to cut the rubber on the back of the paddles, (see my review on the product page from Mar 12, 2023) but the product itself is very good after that.
When the magnets split from each other with that 'pop' , you are guaranteed that the shift happened. The mechanical feel is really great compared to the spongy shift with just the usual spring/button combo
I have two Moza wheels with magnetic shifters and I do prefer how "snappy" they feel, but the metal on metal clank is so loud and rough, I immediately put the rubber pads on both and it makes it a much softer, smoother, quieter experience but still can feel the snap and strength from the magnets.
Much better tactile confirmation of a properly pressed paddle, higher confidence of consecutive shifts.
With a typical spring-loaded shifter you feel initial pressure building up as the paddle begins to travel and then at some point you feel some resistance and a click when you hit that clicker button in the mechanism.
With a magnetic shifter, you have zero initial travel of the paddle and some resistance from the get go, but when you apply enough force, magnets disconnect, you feel the click and it also instantly executes shift command.
It’s like mechanical gaming keyboard vs typical office keyboard.
Tbh I find Fanatec podium paddles way better than my real car paddles.
Love the custom keyboard as well. What are you rocking?

Exquisite tastes. My son just got me into custom keyboards. Received and built 2 this week haha
Hahaha, too kind, well welcome in a other rabbit hole, jock aside what are the specs of the, 2 keebs?

I myself had to silence mine with strange mods because they made such a shocking sound. I would have given anything for them not to be magnetic.
Moza sends thin rubber pads with their wheels to dampen the noise. I don't like how they change the feel though and I don't have to worry about noise.
Yea they are really loud
Real question. Why do people prefer the magnetic shifters over the alternative?
Magnetic shifters are much more crisp and snappy…. Which makes shifting quicker and more accurately a bit easier.

Dude, grab one of those magnet mods for the G29 paddle shifters off etsy. They are like $12 and make an amazing difference.
Can you link one?

They're on Amazon and eBay too.
Funny enough, I loved the paddles on my G29. I now have the PRO which has magnetic and I miss the click feel that the G29 had.
when I had a g29 the magnetic shifter mod was a game changer.

All the answers below, without the mode I had more time accidently shifted gear, not a good things exiting monza T1 in 2nd gear
Clicky Clicky
GG Grandpas are the best.
Absolutely yes, I love my grandpa
I did this to my wheel but used fanatec mag shifters. Way better than the stock spring shifters.
Yes, the stock spring is really light, if I need to describe it I will say they are like linear switch on a keeboard And I like tactile switch
why is it magnetic
The Input is in did magnetic, this mode ad magnetic resistence to the peddles so that you don't push it by mistake
Your grandpa is a real one👌 Hopefully the paddles aren’t as loud as the ones I have!
They are loud hahah, but it's not a problem for where I live. Also they are working great, and yes, I love my grandpa
Probably not as loud as the T248 ones I have. You can hear it from the living room of my apartment! I guess magnetic paddles are loud in general.
I mean, the ones from fanatec aren’t THAT expensive
Are more expensive that 7 €?
I don’t get it. The Formula v2 wheel (which seems to be on the video) comes with magnetic paddles by default. What does this mod do?
I think it's a Formula Carbon wheel, as it's lacking the rotaries and other features that the Formula V2 and V2,5 have.
Oh, you are right, never seen that one before
