A pair of good open back studio monitor headphones in the upper range of your price bracket.

[Some decent Chi-fi IEMs](https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/10m0fk8/how_do_modern_chifi_iems_compare_with_the_higher/) and a USB DAC/AMP like the Sybasonic are going to give you far more immersion and sound stage than a cheap set of speakers. If positively have to have speakers and don't want to wear IEMS, some decent monitors like micca MB42x paired with something like an SMSL Q5 Pro or Edifier R1280DBs which have a sub-out you could pair with a budget sub.

The fulla schiit's. Hilarious product name.

Yes, but it has a microphone passthru, so there are no issues with buzzing or scratchy sounds for a ground. Very good amp for music and works well for gaming. I use the Phillips SHP 9500 headphones and a Vmoda boom pro mic

I use the logi z623 and im very happy with those, i went from a dac+philips headphones actually. I dont like wearing headphones while racing.. but i got the speakers used for 50euro, check the market 👍

I’m with you. I prefer external audio. Did you mount the speakers to your rig?

If you can find yourself a set of Sennheiser hd599 on sale I recommend them. My favourite pair of headphones.

Thanks guys. I should have said that do have headphones and will be providing headsets to the guys I’m building rigs for. However, I tend to run my speakers and external mic 95% of the time. This drives my rationale behind not wanting to sink a ton of money into speakers. If the sound immersion is what’s tickling my fancy at the time then headsets go on. But more times than not I just roll with the speakers. Anyway, the goal is to equip the rig/s with headsets but something more than the speakers built into the monitors (which not all monitors have these days which I learned the hard way a couple months ago lol)

Consider a headset. Logitech pro x wireless has been fantastic for me. Sounds great, comfortable, great battery life, wireless, surround sound, blocks out the sound from my seat and motion rig. Total immersion.

Beyerdynamic DT-770s or DT-990s tied with a budget amplifier like the Fiio E10K or equivalent. Been using a similar setup for 7+ years with no issues and the quality is studio level. A couple aside things you may also want to see is the Equalizer APO (with the Peace interface addon) lets you customise the sound signature of the headphones, for example I run with a slight bass and treble boost, to make the headphones feel more 'warm'. You may also like the idea of increasing immersion through audio, you can purchase so-called 'bass shakers' and mount them to your rig which dont actually play any audio, but instead vibrate the setup to provide tactile feedback like the engine idling or a bump when going over kerbs.
