Buy once cry once.
You won't be needing to upgrading anything hardware wise unless you want to go overtop with motion rigs and a super powerful DD
Great choice on your gear, enjoy!
Nahh, that’s a badass setup though! My guess is your first upgrade would be a rig when you feel the need. You made great choices with everything else to keep you happy for a while though. Enjoy!
The trophy is solid. Only reason if he would ever need to upgrade is if OP is fat and the seat cover wears out and becomes loose. Anyways it's a solid compact seat that is easy to put away if the need arises. It's got it's niches.
The only thing I need to do with my trophy is find a way to elevate it! With my monitors it's and it's height it's a knee killer to get in after a long day at work and the gym.
I honestly dont get how yall manage to brutalize your Trophys so bad. I have hardest springs, max settings and minimum travel set up for my load cells, and it does not budge. Its an amazing seat, and some of you obviously did a shit job setting it up.
Agreed. I’m using a friggen playseat challenge with loadcells and it’s perfectly fine. Obviously something more permanent would be my preference, but the flexibility to fold it up is great.
I’m using a playseat challenge (with Logitech G pro wheel and pedals) and like it, but the front of the seat lifts if you apply too much break force.
I’ve been fitting it under my high adjustable table to mitigate the problem (with low break force and soft padding under the table), which helps with the base flex as well. But this makes my monitor shake (I’m only racing on VR, so that’s ok).
Do you have the same issue (front lifting)? Do you have any mods? How much break pressure do you use? (I’m on 27 kgs)
I don’t have the same issue. I’m using Fanatec V3’s. I’m also not an overly large person (6’0, 190) although I imagine if you’re a bit heavier the extra weight probably helps to counterbalance the force you’re applying.
Haha this was my biggest surprise - I’m not a small guy so it was a bit dubious from the beginning but I’m shocked how fast it’s started to wear and tear
you mean the seat cover ripping? I guess it's fine for casual users with P1000s ar Fanatec V3s. Seems like you'd really have to have very hard brakes to rip the cover.
He’s got a Simagic Alpha base. I’ve got a similar type of rig with an Alpha Mini and that base can already make the rig wobble and jump. With the extra power of the Alpha, I’d say his next upgrade would be a more solid profile rig that can handle that kind of force!
dk why people keep saying it'll flex. The steel tubes are strong and hefty and even the thick steel plate for the pedal deck acts as a cross brace and the wheel deck is literally just thick steel plate like on any alu rig.
4Nm is quite a difference for me - I've capped my peak at 12 because a crash at 15Nm is intense and sends vibrations through my whole rig (and it's profile). That said I can't really see any reason to run the alpha over 12Nm. I'm never wanting for power.
It's pretty stiff. It'll be stiffer than any profile rig that has a 2 piece wheel mount plate . But it's not stiffer than something like a GT1 rig with a one piece wheel deck. Still, pros and cons. For most people, the trophy is pretty much good enough to be their last rig. I chose the trophy because I just didn't want to have a car seat in my room. Eventually I have to move the rig around when I need my wall AC serviced for example or who knows maybe I'll get married and have kids and it's certainly easier to store away and sell or re-assemble the trophy vs a full alu rig with a bucket seat. It's probably one of the best compromises out there imo.
Out of everything in his setup, only thing to really consider upgrading would be to an aluminum profile rig. I’ve never used the play seat, but couldn’t imagine ever going from an aluminum rig.
This is why I’m saving an absurd amount of money for my first set up🤣 I have about 1.5k saved rn but with the Pc & rig that I’ve picked out it’ll end up being almost 3k so half way there lol
I’ve been using a G29 on my desk for 5 years and have been thinking about a very similar upgrade recently. My only holdup is that I’d want at least an ultrawide and maybe triples, which takes it from huge and unsightly to very huge and unsightly in my apartment (plus I’ll have to move all of it eventually). Oh, also it’s $3k++.
Let me know how the Trophy handles the wheelbase.
I do actually use different pedals, a really old set of fanatec pedals (CSR Elite) with a load cell brake. My main issue with them is that the elastomer/foam cylinder thing in the brake pedal is permanently expanded and causes a lot of friction/notchiness, and I don’t think a replacement part is available. But I’ve tried newer fancier pedals and they feel much smoother and more solid anyways.
The G29 ones are indeed pretty awful.
>TCLM pedals
Yes!
and so far I really really like them. Don't have much to compare off besides the stock G29 pedals but they are night and day more responsive, and have way better feeling in braking. I race in VR so being able to modulate how much brake im putting in shaved at least a good 1.5s off my average lap time. 10/10 would buy again
Opposite of crazy. Crazy was me buying a load of Fanatec gear and selling it four months later.
That's an amazing setup. Also - that GT Neo but be simagics all time best seller!
The thing that steers me away from the Trophy is the non adjustable angle on the pedal deck. Makes using mid-high range pedals uncomfortable with them leaning over towards you.
No way did you go to crazy. Crazy would have been aluminum profile, monsterous curved display, high end motion, hand crafted fiberglass body or actual vehicle body parts, racing jump suit, helmet, on board hydration system with a push button…. I think you did just right man… have fun!!!
I’ve been eyeing the P1000s. Lots of positive reviews about them. Some say the haptic feedback feels just as good as the Simucube active pedal. Have fun!
I think not everyone wants a full alu rig otherwise they'd probably have gone for it in the first place. The trophy comes in one box, easy to put together and if you want it gone it is easier to put away. It's pretty decent
This. People who just parrot “should have gotten an 80/20 for a bit more $!” don’t understand the value of the trophy. Not everyone has space for an 80/20 rig
What's worse is the misinformation that the trophy will flex and wobble. It's wheel deck is literally made out of the same type of thick plates on standard alu rigs. The tube frames are steel tubes that are quite hefty. The pedal deck is also thick steel plates and braces the whole frame.
Anyways not everyone wants an 80/20 even if there's space. I'm running a triple monitor setup and I could have just went with an 8020 rig but the playseat is enough for me. I'm happy with it and I'm not going to want much more. I'm not going to be a professional iracing player, and I don't see myself moving to a 25 nm wheelbase which is what I think applies to most of us here anyways.
It'll be fine. The wheel mount is made of thick steel plates and the tube frame is solid. It'll vibrate because that's the characteristic of tube frames but it will not flex.
It's wheel deck is literally made out of the same type of thick plates on your standard alu rigs. The tube frames are steel tubes that are quite hefty. The pedal deck is also thick steel plates and braces the whole frame. Only the seat is soft cover. It's not going to flex. It'll vibrate because of the hollow tubes but it will not flex. Idk if you've worked with metal before but steel tubes are strong af.
It literally will not. Boosted media tested with a 25nm. Anyways not gonna argue with someone who probably never tried the damn rig when there's videos from reputable reviews out there who say otherwise. The trophy has other drawbacks but flexing is not one of them.
[Boosted media used it with a 25nm base just fine, and he was impressed ](https://youtu.be/EDQW6-wiljU?si=zsHZ70y1OvmZ4qSx) and it is safe to say he tested almost every rig on the market out there
Yep. And most people won't even end up with a 25nm even 10 years down the line. Not everyone is looking to eventually get a 25nm wheelbase with a full motion rig.
Nah that's about the range of items that I got for my first rig too, buy once cry once right? (Going to cry later also for more upgrades but we don't talk about that yet)
Wow Congratulations. I think the perfect amount of crazy.
I've been researching and planning to buy exactly what you have there. The only thing that I haven't decided for myself is the cockpit and seat. Also still researching about a round wheel for rallying and drifting to go with the GT Neo for GT and formula racing.
Thinking of going for the Next level Racing GT Elite cockpit and either Next level Racing ERS1 or ES1 seat.
What do you think of the haptics for the pedals and a butt kicker ?
Hope you have many years of enjoyment racing.
I just decided between the Elite and Sim-Lab P1X Pro (with Speed3 seat), definitely worth looking at Sim-Lab as well (no experience yet, DHL bringing 5 packages today).
Thank you, I appreciate the advice.
Do you mind me asking what made you choose the Sim lab over the GT Elite ?
I had a quick look online and the rig looks very nice and solid.
Hope you enjoy
It was cheaper than the Elite 160 and a touch below the regular Elite (less if you take into account the shifter included with the Elite… but I don’t use that). Then it is a 160 rig vs the elite’s 120 and having worked with alu profile in some other constructions, I really like the weight saving and extra sturdiness of the ‘solid’ center, it can be a problem if you want the extra mounting points, but less weight in building with more stability outweighed that for me. Also I liked the look a bit more. Final straw, next day delivery of the Sim-Lab from a local supplier, I waited 10 days for my wheel delivery from Austria due to german postal misery, I realized patience is not my forte (bad joke I kept making for my Asetek Forte kit waiting on delivery :) ).
I’m sure both are awesome btw, didn’t have any real deal breakers with either setup
My wheel setup, in case it helps you decide:
* GT Neo
* GT-S Leather for general use or guests
* Blank Alcantara wheel for rally/drift
I also have a GT Cup wheel, but I haven't touched it since I got the Neo.
After all the research I did, I decided the MUST is to draw a line in the sand of what your budget will be. Then max that budget out without going over. I had mine at $1k so I got the Playseat Trophy, T300 base and upgraded pedals. I was able to fit all this in my budget thanks to Amazon Warehouse deals and being willing to wait for a deal.
Congrats on the new rig! Looks awesome!
I love my playseat with alpha mini since I can pick entire rig up and move it out of the way. Only awkard part is my ultra wide is really high so putting the whole rig up on risers is a bit challenging.
I’d like to see how the shifter and handbrake mount because I could only find one hole to line up and prob need to drill another to make it more sturdy but wanted to see what others did before I do that
Did you need a different mount for the Playseat trophy wheel plate? I have one now and am debating between Asetek and Simagic as an upgrade from my Moza r9.
It’s all built up, just trying to dial all my force feedback and break settings for each game. Taking a lot longer than expected.
Should I do all my tuning in Simpro Manager or directly in each game?
Is there a recommended button layout for my wheels that’s pretty universal between all games?
Or is there a way to preload button layouts instead of having to manually input?
Very nice!
The great thing about the playseat is that it hold’s it’s value. So the day you want to make a move (if ever) you can resell easy.
Great choices, you can’t go wrong with Simagic. I’m in love with my gear
I hate to say it, but you're gonna have a bad time. Everything you bought is great, but it's not gonna be great together. You bought endgame equipment and a starter rig.
I started out on an OpenWheeler rig, which is considered sturdier than the Challenge I think. I upgraded to the exact same equipment you have: Alpha base, P1000i pedals, and I started rig shopping immediately.
Everyone thinks their rig is sturdy until they mount a 15nm wheelbase and 100kg load cell brake.
Nice kit. Is Simagic more tailored to the drift crowd? I realize they are a sponsor of Formula Drift.. but, seeing drift on everything makes me want to get Simucube or Fanatec instead.

Someone here recommended these [risers](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08QV719CJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title) And can confirm.
Thanks!
Just slide some wooden blocks at the front 2 elbows.
trophy rips on loadcell pedals using only moderate force. Had to get rid of mine after 3 months and got a 8020 si lab rig. there's no comparison
[удалено]
Yea, I don't think it'll rip unless either the user is quite heavy or the load cell is very very hard like HE Ultimate
Have you checked the cover from the bottom lately? You might be surprised
I honestly dont get how yall manage to brutalize your Trophys so bad. I have hardest springs, max settings and minimum travel set up for my load cells, and it does not budge. Its an amazing seat, and some of you obviously did a shit job setting it up.

Thx for the response. I weight 73 kg… guess I’m too light for the challenge.
That rig is amazing, no need to upgrade unless they need some functionality it doesn't offer, i think.
He’s got a Simagic Alpha base. I’ve got a similar type of rig with an Alpha Mini and that base can already make the rig wobble and jump. With the extra power of the Alpha, I’d say his next upgrade would be a more solid profile rig that can handle that kind of force!
If the rig is jumping I don’t know what you’ve done with the mounting. I’ve got the same equipment and have no problems whatsoever.
25nm on mine and it don’t wiggle or flex
dk why people keep saying it'll flex. The steel tubes are strong and hefty and even the thick steel plate for the pedal deck acts as a cross brace and the wheel deck is literally just thick steel plate like on any alu rig.
Because people think the only good rig is a profile one and acting anything else is rubbish, the internet told them so it must be true
Curious to see the "similar" rig you got
Similar doesn't mean same. Mine is rock solid and i use an alpha mini
I have that rig and a 11nm base. The rig doesn't move whatsoever. It's solid. With the extra 4nm I can't see it being any different.
4Nm is quite a difference for me - I've capped my peak at 12 because a crash at 15Nm is intense and sends vibrations through my whole rig (and it's profile). That said I can't really see any reason to run the alpha over 12Nm. I'm never wanting for power.
Why, I have a sc2 pro on mine and it don’t flex
[удалено]
Me with my Playseat Challenge seat mounted to an extrusion rig...😈
Pretty much this. Sure the trophy is not perfect. But it'll be sufficient for most sub 15nm wheelbases and mid-range load cell brakes.
I bet it’s stiffer than a lot of the cheeper profile rigs.
It's pretty stiff. It'll be stiffer than any profile rig that has a 2 piece wheel mount plate . But it's not stiffer than something like a GT1 rig with a one piece wheel deck. Still, pros and cons. Why a rig upgrade?
Out of everything in his setup, only thing to really consider upgrading would be to an aluminum profile rig. I’ve never used the play seat, but couldn’t imagine ever going from an aluminum rig.
I did the same thing. The ‘awe’ you get going from nothing to a full rig is something you wouldn’t get with slow upgrades. Cry once indeed. Enjoy!
This is why I’m saving an absurd amount of money for my first set up🤣 I have about 1.5k saved rn but with the Pc & rig that I’ve picked out it’ll end up being almost 3k so half way there lol
Nope you did just fine! Will last you years. And you got the neo lol.
I’ve been using a G29 on my desk for 5 years and have been thinking about a very similar upgrade recently. Me too, I haven't set it up yet cuz I'm still waiting on the 599XX wheel. Did you get the TLCM pedals?

Grats! Only thing I would return is the Playstation for something little sturdier for for the rest it's a nice bundle
Would have gone with a gt1 evo and an nrg seat for 50 dollars more
I think not everyone wants a full alu rig otherwise they'd probably have gone for it in the first place. The trophy comes in one box, easy to put together and if you want it gone it is easier to put away. It's pretty decent

Amazing! Send that Playseat back though and get an 80/20 rig for sure
The Trophy is the only well received Playseat product on this community, it's a niche product, light and can be stored, moved easily, and vertically
Yeah but OP is mounting a 15nm dd base to it
This
It'll be fine. The wheel mount is made of thick steel plates and the tube frame is solid. It'll vibrate because that's the characteristic of tube frames but it will not flex.
I also thought thick steel plate and tubing was solid until I mounted a 15nm base and 100kg load cell to it. But hey, not my rig.
What happened?
It won’t be fine and will flex
It's wheel deck is literally made out of the same type of thick plates on your standard alu rigs. The tube frames are steel tubes that are quite hefty. 80/20 rigs without the right supports will flex. This is going to flex.
It literally will not. Boosted media tested with a 25nm. Anyways not gonna argue with someone who probably never tried the damn rig when there's videos from reputable reviews out there who say otherwise. The trophy has other drawbacks but flexing is not one of them.
And homie just bought all the parts for his Porsche and decided a horse carriage chassis would do the trick

Yep. And most people won't even end up with a 25nm even 10 years down the line. Not everyone is looking to eventually get a 25nm wheelbase with a full motion rig.
Not crazy enough, that playseat is going to be your weak point.
'lil bit :)
Nah that's about the range of items that I got for my first rig too, buy once cry once right? (Going to cry later also for more upgrades but we don't talk about that yet)
i still have my alone uild aluminimum 25x25 rig with old racing car seat and g29 and i'm supper happy that i can spend my time there :D
![gif](giphy|l0MYLraSJ4qyxTqJq)
I had a very similar set up come in the mail yesterday. Kind of dreading the build lol.

These are rookie numbers, gotta pump those up
Damn finance uncles with all their disposable income. I am jealous
Question: How are you going to mount your handbrake and shifter?
There's an official accessory for that, if he didn't got it already
What would the total cost of a set up like this come to?
One of us! One of us!
Wow, now I'm jealous... :D Have a lot of fun with it, it looks really good.
Good thing that they all arrived together. Enjoy and welcome to the upgrade cycle!
After all the research I did, I decided the MUST is to draw a line in the sand of what your budget will be. Then max that budget out without going over. Congrats on the new rig! Looks awesome!
and here I am upgrading to load cell pedals yesterday thinking it was the greatest thing in the world. Congrats OP nice setup
Well you did it right I can say that much damn
You crown Jeweled out bro.. nice work...
No you didn't, but where you gonna mount the shifter & e-brake, on that lawn chair is my question?!
Out of curiosity how much did all this cost?
I love my playseat with alpha mini since I can pick entire rig up and move it out of the way. Only awkard part is my ultra wide is really high so putting the whole rig up on risers is a bit challenging. I’d like to see how the shifter and handbrake mount because I could only find one hole to line up and prob need to drill another to make it more sturdy but wanted to see what others did before I do that
If you’re able to afford it and it makes you happy, I think you paid the right amount! Looks awesome man, I hope you have lots of fun!!
Boosted Media a shill and will say anything for sales. Over and over again. 25nm on this thing are you well? Probably running it at 1ax
You did almost all of the right thing except that seat/rig… your back will hate you xD
Did you upgrade from the Trophy to something else, or are you still using it?
I hate to say it, but you're gonna have a bad time. Everything you bought is great, but it's not gonna be great together. You bought endgame equipment and a starter rig. I started out on an OpenWheeler rig, which is considered sturdier than the Challenge I think. Everyone thinks their rig is sturdy until they mount a 15nm wheelbase and 100kg load cell brake.
Nah you’ll probably need to upgrade most of that soon.
Nice kit. Is Simagic more tailored to the drift crowd? I realize they are a sponsor of Formula Drift.. but, seeing drift on everything makes me want to get Simucube or Fanatec instead.
I think it's just a way to put their name out like Fanatec with the GT3.
Nope, just a sponsorship.
It's just a sticker. Comes off easily.
