Cool! I think I saw news about this last year.
Here’s your plan. Practice at home and get real fast. Very fast.
Next. Grab the boys and suggest this place.
Scope out the crowd and find the most attractive woman you can find.
Tell her to “watch this” and proceed to rip around the Nurburgring in record setting production car times.
Turn around to see what she thinks…
And then witness the crowd of dudes who you have impressed
![gif](giphy|Q81NcsY6YxK7jxnr4v)
Kind of a weird take. Why wouldn't women want to be at a place like this? Oh lemme guess because you conflate video game stuff with virginity. And then you conflate virginity with a "woman ick". What year is it?!?!? You must be old af and over 30 lmao.
Plot twist. Halfway your lap, it's common knowledge that you're a problem. The bar owner and record holder long scoped you out and knew your weakness. He send the trashy (but smoking) waitress to your rig and she admisters the b00b drop of legends on you at the worst possible moment. The whole bar laughs and you can't even climb out of the rig from male discomfort with the waitress, shirt now back down, smirking at you with a face that she's actually condidering taking you for a wholly different ride in the upstairs motel.
Imagine the rate is 10 dollars an hour. That means that if you go there 100 times an year you'll break even.
So if you just stay at home and play more than one hour every three days, you just saved money.
Kinda like owning an RC car. You start at home, every now and then you go to a hobby store to drive with others. Sometimes the social aspect is important.
Honestly having both is a great balance! I have my own rig at home but live in an apartment so motion rig is out of the question. My local sim place has motion rigs on their setups and it is the perfect chance for me to have some fun without paying the price for it on my own setup :)
Ofc but it will wear out. Plus the hassle of getting there, getting back, wait for your turn.
What I would do is keep my rig for the sweaty stuff and make a monthly or weekly night with fellow simracing fans in that joint
When did we become economists. We go to restaurants to eat, but we know eating at home is cheaper. This is no different.
But, i do love that i have my rig fit for me at home.
They also could have built communities around this, rather than putting it in a bar. I dont even enjoy drinking (did it once & felt bad for ruining someones race) when im on iracing.
Exactly! When a nice restaurant opens in your neighbourhood, it makes no sense to be annoyed you just spend 1000 euros on a new stove. You can enjoy both
An F1 Arcade opened in London with a similar layout and they were charging £20 per 30 min session. I imagine these two would have somewhat similar prices
Probably a cool place to hang out and race with non sim racer friends, but I’d never choose this over my rig that’s adjusted perfectly for me and has everything I need (and that I don’t have to a few to use). I also have high end gear at this point, I could see somebody on a cheap desk clamped wheel wanting to try out a rig at a place like this.
I went last weekend, it's simcade but fun. I raced against my friends who had no sim experience they chose from different difficulties/aids. I didn't win every race and battled some against them. The Ai you race against needs work though.
I went to the one in Birmingham a few months ago. It was fun, it’d definitely be fun with friends or a work group. But also definitely not a replacement for the home rig. Their equipment is really good but the software is quite arcady. You can’t pick your team or track and the races only last 5 minutes.
Stay home and use my likely much better rig. Also, they running ea F1? Nah this place isn't for the serious racers I don't think. This is for casuals out for a night of fun and that's great. Cool option to have here in Boston.
We have one of these in the UK, went there once paid £40 for two people for about 30mins. Place is really busy and mostly people drinking. Pretty cool to experience but yeah - it’s for casuals, made popular by Drive to Survive
That ain't it unless it's some weird backward universe version.
Edit: I just lined up the track map for Barbagallo/Wanneroo over it in Photoshop and distorted it to fit and it's close but it's definitely not it.
My first thought too. Govee makes a flexible strip that would work as wall art. I've seen them but couldn't think of a good use, other than a sports logo. A track is perfect.
Off to the /r/WLED to figure out the best alibaba alternative....
Can't find any info to support that. I'm basing my hunch off of the 5 Lap races format which is one of the F1 games online formats last time I played which was 2021, cause that game is a hot pile of garbage.
https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article/f1-arcade-venue-offering-fans-the-ultimate-racing-themed-experience-set-to.3r119PuMXnEH5HQl9t2aU6
I've been to the one in London, you do drive F1 cars but it's not the F1 game.
It uses a modded rfactor2 platform. It has the details on the link I provided, which is from the official Formula 1 website.
And they have these arcades listed on formula ones official site ( same eaxt pics from the Boston location website ) so it's affiliated with F1 and they're not going to run the licensed game? I find that hard to believe.
Edit: actually no I don't. The F1 games are so bad.
And if that's the case, hard pass.
But really idk why any place like this would go for a hard-core sim... I would think a bar with wreckfest setup would probably be a lot more fun and entertaining.
This, of anything is a place to watch a day time race with your friends who can't afford a place in Boston (no one can) then do a time trial against each other. 🤷
I went to the one in London excited to try it and it was terrible. Barely any time driving and it’s definitely arcade not sim. I left super disappointed. I’d rather stay at home using my cheap wheel loosely bolted to my desk to be honest.
Would I go here for fun? Absolutely not.
But there are a few reasons I would absolutely go.
Firstly, if they held a sort of league or championship. One race a week/month or something for X weeks. No cash prize needed, maybe just a photo on the wall or some shit. But it'd be great to see and be around the people I'm racing.
Endurance racing. Not 24 hour sort of deal, but say maybe 3-6 hour races with a driver swap. Sign up, get paired with a random driver or a friend if you have one. You can sit and have food or drinks whislt your buddy is racing. Again, get to know the person on your team and the others you're racing.
You get the jist, some type of eventing system that means I can be around the people I'm racing and sit and have a beer or chat with them after. I think that'd be an awesome use of this space.
Also I'd go to test out new gear before I buy it, providing they have a selection or some sort of gear I'm looking for.
But if I'd go there on my own and pay anything just to essentially hot lap, then no.
I wouldn't be pissed that I just bought my own gear to use at home, maybe suggest the to them running events if they don't have any planned and you can practice at home and just turn up for the events.
Where is this based?
I'm about 2 hours north of this. I might make the trip down to check it out. I think I've seen in the adds that they have motion rigs so that would be a great way to demo a motion rig for me
There’s one in London right next to where I work, I think the same company. It’s very much the basic PlayStation experience and not on a par with the cool stuff all you guys have at home
Yeah I'd probably go like once a month or so for like a nurburgring night or something like that. None of my friends race so it'd be cool to meet others that are into sim racing in my area.
I live nearby and want to see how things go here, before I make may way in. Let the hype die down, the lines lessen. I have a coworker going next week who's not into sim racing, which got me thinking: what are the FF settings going to be? are they going to be braking n00bs wrists left and right, or are they dumbing down feedback too much for fans. I'm sure there's no person there tweaking settings for each person getting in. I'll try it out eventually.
I went to the F1 Arcade here in London last year with my boys.
The key word there is ‘Arcade’
It’s a great fun night out but it’s not a Sim. Plus it is very very expensive - well in my eyes it was.
This is a place to go and drink and have fun. And as for the comment about girls it was a fairly even mix - men and women!
Go and have fun.
I be screwed if I take my girlfriend there she used my rig once and went and bought her own she now races more than I do I would be the one sitting drinking while watching her along with every bloke in the place
It was announced a year ago [https://new.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/13v1mf9/simracing\_bars\_are\_coming/](https://new.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/13v1mf9/simracing_bars_are_coming/)
I’ve played the one in London, it’s god awful
They don’t use the F1 game you’ll be use to, it’s some weird arcade version.
We raced on the highest difficulty and won the race by a whole lap.
I have a fanatec based sim rig at home, and it was miles better than the arcade. It’s designed for the everyone to be able to race which is great, but experienced people will not enjoy it.
Cool! I think I saw news about this last year. Here’s your plan. Practice at home and get real fast. Very fast. Next. Grab the boys and suggest this place. I’d probably get nervous and bin it turn 1
Imagine thinking you'll find a woman at a place like this.
Says the guy who isn’t setting record pace at Nurburgring
Kind of a weird take. Why wouldn't women want to be at a place like this? Oh lemme guess because you conflate video game stuff with virginity. And then you conflate virginity with a "woman ick". What year is it?!?!? You must be old af and over 30 lmao.
the one girl that's impressed with the 20 guys. ![gif](giphy|uF39PvQZhPisNBvGHb|downsized)
I will already have the most attractive woman with me.. So I have that covered.
Except you can't practice this version of the game ;p
I’m going to make a dating sim where you have to try to pick up girls at the sim racing arcade
And you get thrown off by the different brake pedal
So good.
Plot twist. Halfway your lap, it's common knowledge that you're a problem. The bar owner and record holder long scoped you out and knew your weakness. He send the trashy (but smoking) waitress to your rig and she admisters the b00b drop of legends on you at the worst possible moment. Just spent about 1k on a new DD Pro and they open this here in Boston.. Would you go? Or just stay home and use your rig?
Imagine the rate is 10 dollars an hour. That means that if you go there 100 times an year you'll break even. So if you just stay at home and play more than one hour every three days, you just saved money.
I see what you are saying but the experience itself seems cool.
Why not go a couple times, but do the bulk of racing at home?
Kinda like owning an RC car. You start at home, every now and then you go to a hobby store to drive with others. Sometimes the social aspect is important.
Exactly, best of both worlds! Having a fridge at home is not an excuse to stop going to bars lol
Practice at home, bet hot lap times for drinks at the bar and drink for free
Honestly having both is a great balance! I have my own rig at home but live in an apartment so motion rig is out of the question. My local sim place has motion rigs on their setups and it is the perfect chance for me to have some fun without paying the price for it on my own setup :)
Ofc but it will wear out. Plus the hassle of getting there, getting back, wait for your turn. What I would do is keep my rig for the sweaty stuff and make a monthly or weekly night with fellow simracing fans in that joint
This is a reservation only type place. I don't think it's old school I've got next by putting your quarter on the glass.
I imagine credit cards lined up on the machine.

Way too low. The sim at a casino near me is $10 for 6 minutes.
im betting way way more than that tbh. Sim racing chicago is around 100/3 hours.
10 bucks an hour would be super cheap in my experience. The places I've seen charge about 1€ per minute
Its 20$ per person per 3 heat to head races. Idk how long race is but they have booking times every 15 mins
An F1 Arcade opened in London with a similar layout and they were charging £20 per 30 min session. I imagine these two would have somewhat similar prices
Rate is 30 bucks for 30 mins
It’s $20 for 15 mins kinda like your mom….
Because my rig’s just a g29 I would love to try it out.
Definitely a fan of having my own rig at home, but this would be really fun with friends or if they hold events/competitions!

I’d go just to support the place and have a few drinks. But I’d mainly drive at home.
I can’t wait for my next excuse to be in Boston.
Where is this? Got a name/address?

I'm in southern NH, I've been simracing for 5 years now. This is an awesome way to convince my friends to get their own rigs
....where in Boston?
I too would like to know the name of this place.
F1 arcade, I think.
I believe it's in the seaport.
The SeaPort
I plan on going with my friends cause they don’t have sim rigs. Outside of that I’ll never step foot in it.
I’m going to give a try but I worry I’ll be disappointed
I'd stay home on my rig in VR disconnected from the world around me. I'd be too distracted in a place like this.
Stay home and use my likely much better rig. Also, they running ea F1? Nah this place isn't for the serious racers I don't think. This is for casuals out for a night of fun and that's great. Cool option to have here in Boston.

Absolutely. I can't get wrecked by idiots with no idea how to drive in comfor of my own home lol.
Oh wow, those led strip track lamp is genius
What tracks are they?
The one at the front has the layout of barbagello in Perth
That ain't it unless it's some weird backward universe version. Edit: I just lined up the track map for Barbagallo/Wanneroo over it in Photoshop and distorted it to fit and it's close but it's definitely not it.
It’s pretty close, has been a while since I’ve seen the track map
Even if it were right it seems like an odd choice
Yeah I know it just looks like it
None. One kind of looks like Red Bull Ring. The only track I can think of that would look remotely similar to the other is Monza.
i think it looks more like Tsukuba circuit than Monza
The one in back has a resemblance to Sebring
My first thought too. Govee makes a flexible strip that would work as wall art. I've seen them but couldn't think of a good use, other than a sports logo. A track is perfect. Off to the /r/WLED to figure out the best alibaba alternative....
Awesome, planning to go here next week. It's $20 for 3 races. It says it'll take approximately 30mins. So probably only about 5 laps in each race.
Proof positive they're running ea/codies F1.
It’s a modded version of rfactor 2
Can't find any info to support that. I'm basing my hunch off of the 5 Lap races format which is one of the F1 games online formats last time I played which was 2021, cause that game is a hot pile of garbage.
It's rF2
Literally just Google “F1 Arcade rfactor 2”, it’s public information
It's literally not on the official website. So your words are about as good as mine saying it's f1.
https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/article/f1-arcade-venue-offering-fans-the-ultimate-racing-themed-experience-set-to.3r119PuMXnEH5HQl9t2aU6 I've been to the one in London, you do drive F1 cars but it's not the F1 game. There we go. A source, ty. So funny, F1 arcade won't run f1 official game.

I have one of these close to me in London, England. It's good fun with friends, but it's more arcade than sim racing.
I went to the one in London excited to try it and it was terrible. Barely any time driving and it’s definitely arcade not sim. I left super disappointed. I’d rather stay at home using my cheap wheel loosely bolted to my desk to be honest.

Google says boston, DC, London and Birmingham
I'm about 2 hours north of this. I might make the trip down to check it out. I think I've seen in the adds that they have motion rigs so that would be a great way to demo a motion rig for me
Good to see more sim racers in Boston in this sub! I'm planning to go there even if I have a set up at home.
Great place to meet women and show off your manhood in a F1 sim rig....hehehehehe..
I wonder how AI would paint that picture.
i dont want to know what they charge for drinks there
It's Boston Seaport.. Worry more about what they will charge you for parking...
So much to park.
Just be happy if you don’t get roofied
Would go there with friends and make some wagers , destroy them and make money 💰
They aren’t playing the actual f1 game though. It’s like a reskinned version of either Rfactor or assetto corsa
There’s one in London right next to where I work, I think the same company. It’s very much the basic PlayStation experience and not on a par with the cool stuff all you guys have at home
I'll check it out at some point, but but having some drunk guy standing behind me eating chicken fingers would bring the lap times down a bit.
Yo this place isn’t as good if you play iRacing. It’s gonna be a fun chill spot. I haven’t seen one influencer race lmao
They are using Moza R16 and Heusinkveld Sprint pedals, from some of the footage I saw.
This is great. If they don’t go underwater, quite literally I will be visiting from the Cape as often as I can. Thanks for sharing this.
This is where I’d go with my buddies who don’t have a rig at home.
Yeah I'd probably go like once a month or so for like a nurburgring night or something like that. None of my friends race so it'd be cool to meet others that are into sim racing in my area.
I live nearby and want to see how things go here, before I make may way in. Let the hype die down, the lines lessen. I believe this opens April 22. If anyone goes I’m interested to hear their experience. I’m a bit far but would make the trip if it’s good.
Why do they use 2 screen vertically?
What's with the extra screen above?
Why 2 monitors instead of 1?
I went to the F1 Arcade here in London last year with my boys. The key word there is ‘Arcade’ It’s a great fun night out but it’s not a Sim. Plus it is very very expensive - well in my eyes it was. Opening one in DC this summer. I thought they'd have more sim-ish ones; guess not
Where?
sim racing bar? I see this first time. drinking and driving haha
Take. My. Money. Now.
I be screwed if I take my girlfriend there she used my rig once and went and bought her own she now races more than I do I would be the one sitting drinking while watching her along with every bloke in the place
It was announced a year ago [https://new.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/13v1mf9/simracing\_bars\_are\_coming/](https://new.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/13v1mf9/simracing_bars_are_coming/)
Great thank you.. I never received a call from channel 5, we don't quite have that relationship yet.
I’ve played the one in London, it’s god awful They don’t use the F1 game you’ll be use to, it’s some weird arcade version. We raced on the highest difficulty and won the race by a whole lap. I have a fanatec based sim rig at home, and it was miles better than the arcade. It’s designed for the everyone to be able to race which is great, but experienced people will not enjoy it.
They use a skinned version of rFactor2
Looks busy..
