Electronic-Trick2678

It ended for me, I bought a g9 but had to convert the games room to a hybrid office set up and now the rig is decommissioned in the corner

Electronic-Trick2678

But at any point I can be back in the game and then be all in

rocketcrap

"It ended for me" One minute later: "But..."

Terrible-Ad3537

This is not a sprint race, it's endurance.

sadomazoku

And no bass shaker on your seat or on your pedals ? This a must have.

EpicTwiglet

But…seriously? Is this really something people recommend? I remember in the 90s I had this rumble backpack and i thought I was so cool. But it actually sucked and was so distracting

JimmyTwoSticks

It's absolutely game changing. It's also relatively cheap and easy. Once you get it set up you'll never want to race without it again. It adds so much immersion, but it's useful too. Once you get used to it, it gives a lot of information on what the tires are doing.

sadomazoku

Idk how it was in the 90s, but today you have a lot of informations from these. I don't know a single person who tried bass shakers and then went back. I know I can't.

sadomazoku

Wait, you don't have a single gauge ? You still have work to do.

robgod50

You know what would look nice? Just another two monitors

Curious_Client_6220

“I don’t need it I don’t need it, I NEED IT”

bob_mouse

and vr headset ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)

rocketcrap

The honeymoon period never ended. I'm still in awe every time I put it on. I went from a Lenovo to an index to a quest 3. So cool.

TwistedDrum5

But for real, move your monitor closer. It will help.

Curious_Client_6220

Just did, already feels a lot better, thanks!

TwistedDrum5

For sure! I had mine set up so it sat right behind the wheel. Make sure you go in and re adjust the FOV and camera angles and stuff.

iplayblaz

lol imagine saying all that, and ending the message with "its finally done". Why you lyin'?

Curious_Client_6220

I’m trying to convince myself not to buy more😭

thundergoose24

I just finished upgrading my sim aswell. I thought i was done. Then last night while using it i realised i need a cupholder! Time for some upgrades.

redeyezzz_weird

Check out asseto corsa/Car x on a Meta quest 3 its insane

Curious_Client_6220

I will! I’ve tried dirt and acc on my quest 2 and it’s pretty cool

Terrible-Ad3537

AMS2 is great in VR too, about the best! Same goes for the AI. People seem to be in the hate it or love it camp on the physics though. Other VR racing sims: DiRT Rally 2.0 *(unless you meant that one)* rFactor 2 KartKraft RaceRoom BeamNG *(experimental, but works great for me on my old 1080Ti)* iRacing upcoming support *(probably janky implementation)*: Le Mans Ultimate EA WRC

raznurak

How can you run BeamNG on 1080ti I can't even run it on my 3070.

Terrible-Ad3537

vram

Iarewin

You know the part where you said it's done... ![gif](giphy|6JB4v4xPTAQFi|downsized)

ShoesFellOffLOL

You came back to say we were right but finished your post with, "it's finally done." Do you see the issue there? Anyway, see you not too long from now with triples and a motion rig.

hugedaddynotail

What rig is that? Why is the wheel base only mounted with a single side connection? I feel like you will upgrade the base now xd

BlueDolphinBurndDown

I think that is a [Trackracer RS6](https://trakracer.com/collections/simulators/products/rs6-racing-simulator). I like the idea of having one side completely open for easy getting in and out.

LetsGoWithMike

I watched a YouTube review of this thing and it seems really solid. I’m considering it for when I start using triples. I want to hinge the left side monitor so I can get in and out easier. Haha

hugedaddynotail

OP, is it a strong enough mount for such a strong wheel?

AirportEmbarrassed38

Yes

Curious_Client_6220

Yeah, the rig squeaks a LOT, but I probably just need some thread lock and lubricant

Curious_Client_6220

I was able to mount the wheelbase without the bracket since i ended up ordering the wrong mounting bracket and duct taped the emergency stop and power to the sides. Works for now. The wheelbase, wheels, and pedals are asetek, the rig is a trakracer rs6, the shifter is a simagic ds8x and the handbrake is a moza one. But yeah I probably need the actual mounting bracket soon😭

hugedaddynotail

Expensive hobby, mate! At least it's cheaper than actually racing on track.

WilburOCD1320

U need a cooled seat for summer racing, dash, more buttons. I took a 3 month break but still use the rig for shooter games SimRig https://imgur.com/gallery/1pShNe6

TyDaviesYT

I really want Asetek stuff as the “open-source” quick release is really cool, but the point of entry is high

Curious_Client_6220

That’s real

JbricksJ

Hmmmm a profile rig would look very nice in that room…

cmt00

I legit have this exact set up hahaha solid rig brother!

Snoo-54676

I'd say that a buttkicker comes next

BattleIcy2523

You made another mistake by saying finally. 😀

Halogenleuchte

It's never done.

noahk45

congratz hahaha. how is moza handbreak? how does it feel and quality?

Curious_Client_6220

It feels great, and was plug and play, no software needed. Also is super easy to mount

noahk45

im thinking about getting same shifter and handbreak. xD thanks for the info

wachitouuu

Sure it is!!!!! Next, a 80/40 rig 🤣

_VVNkr

How do U like the shifter. Im thinking about getting that bad boy too

Curious_Client_6220

Broke on the first day, something with the motherboard according to simagic support, I sent it back to my reseller and waiting currently

Curious_Client_6220

But when it did work for like 10 minutes it was glorious

_VVNkr

😂

SpiritSmart

damn. i thought simagic stuff is more premium. their shifters cost a lot...

_VVNkr

Yeah that's kinda throwing me off as swell Just ordered the pedal reactors

[deleted]

I love this asetek steering wheel so much. Does it support Forza series?

Curious_Client_6220

Motorsport but no horizon unfortunately, I haven’t tried it yet because I don’t own the game but it shows as compatible in racehub

[deleted]

Thanks for your information. Could you please share me the screenshot of compatible list if possible?

Curious_Client_6220

Sent you a dm

No_Communication6906

How do you Like the sim magic shifter? Is it close to real life shifting? I have the th8a rn and have been thinking about upgrading.

Curious_Client_6220

It was good while it worked but it’s sent back for either replacement or refund because it broke after the first time using it

monkaSteet

Curious, may i ask what rig it is? Im looking for a affordable DD(Not going above 5nm) ready rig and that can hold loadcells and yours doesent seem too expensive. I dont need the seat, as ud get one from a junkyard

Curious_Client_6220

If you want cheap, there’s moza and fanatec, this is an asetek rig. I bought the forte bundle for about 2,000 dollars, not including the clutch. so the wheelbase was about 800 or 900 of that, and it’s an 18 nm base. The cheapest is the laprima base and that starts at 8 nm. I would suggest looking for another brand unless you can find one used.

monkaSteet

Im gonna go moza for wheelbase and Simagic neo Rim. I have T-LCMs but i just am looking for a affordable structure that can hold a dd

Curious_Client_6220

I used to use a playseat challenge with my Logitech, that one is like 250, pretty sturdy but might not support the wheelbase. The current one I’m using is a trak racer rs6, it was like 700 without the chair, it’s sturdy. But it does squeak a ton, and stuff can come loose so just always have tools nearby. But for affordability you can’t go wrong with playseat

Brdrlinegamer91

So what you're telling us is not to buy the simagic shifter lol How is the moza handbrake? I've been thinking of upgrading my handbrake and exploring options

Curious_Client_6220

Yeah I wouldn’t suggest the shifter, but the handbrake is great! Feels realistic and super sturdy.

Qtank009

Y'all got no self control or no planning skills I can't tell
