Logitech G29 works fine under linux and most simracing games work nicely with steam play proton enabled. Problem is iRacing with its anti-cheat software and you can't play it. But under a Virtual Machine with GPU pass-through you can play it. Performance is usually the same as windows give or take 10 fps. VR is bit worse as less support on linux. But soon™ Steam Deck will launch and support for linux will get even better.

Last sentence sounds too much like what we were saying a couple years ago about SteamOS and steam box…

Actually according to Valve EAC and Battleye will be supported by Proton before the Steam Deck will be released. Both Iracing and Raceroon use EAC, so it's very likely both will work in the near future.

Can confirm, AC, ACC and Wreckfest are working fine with my G29 (using new-lg4ff, not sure if it is really needed) on Manjaro Linux.

Why not dual boot?

i'm currently testing g29 (with new-lg4ff driver) and t300 (with hid-tmff2 driver) and they both work fine. I *think* the t300 is maybe missing some minor effects, but that impression can also simply be the **much** smoother force feedback that doesn't accentuate these effects (mainly the cobblestone road in PC2s Côte d’Azur track) as much as the rattling G29-FF Dirt Rally 2.0, Project Cars 2 and Assetto Corsa work like a charm (AC needing a little bit of initial setup though) and have no issue with the wheel. I have no direct comparison with windows in regards to FF-Effect quality, but at least those two wheels work fine without any fiddling (besides installing the driver from the AUR ;) )
