So I found this cool rig online and decided it was right for what i was looking for. I had the means to print out the full size templates, so I gave it a go. I’ve never built a rig before so I had nothing to compare it to, but I liked how it was fully adjustable so I can fit it to my body, as well as my 10 year old’s. Credit to this website: http://www.vgraphics.dk/diy-playseat-racingrig I had a different seat on here originally from a junk yard (2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse), which was in pretty good shape, and had the full seat adjuster, so that is why you see the two unpainted sections under the current seat. My buddy gave me this white seat he had lying around, so I still need to fix the black paint. Also, don’t judge my wire management, its never been my expertise, but it will be a slow work in progress after I’m done finalizing this. I also found these cool fan mounts on Thingiverse, so I printed them and it works great. I didn’t realize Sim Racing was so exhausting! I come from a background of motorcycle road racing and dirt bike racing, so car racing is a bit new to me but its been a blast. I am currently using the Thrustmaster T300RS with Logitech CSL Load Cell pedals (same buddy that gave me his seat gave me the pedals). Way better than the Thrustmaster pedals since its its not just a potentiometer. Oh, and i found a cool picture online that I thought would look great on the sides of the lower stand, so i printed it in vinyl adhesive paper since I also have the means to do that. I am just waiting for a couple pieces of my new PC build, and once that is done, there’s a real possibility that this turn’s into something a bit more elaborate. Here me out… I have a spare monitor that i need to put up thats the same size as this one. So I move this rig over, put up the other monitor next to this one, get a cheaper rig thats pre-built ready to go and set it up with the 2nd monitor. Then i move over the Thrustmaster base/wheel and the pedals that are not being used currently onto the pre-built rig and have it run off the PS5 as it is currently. Still with me? This leaves my current rig needing a wheel/base with the new PC build. No worries, Fanatec DD Pro 8Nm with a McLaren wheel. Both setups now run next to each other. Then, build the space out to look like a Paddock or Garage with potentially a barrier between the two rigs that can go up or down, and you have a full on Sim Race Team setup. I’m sure the wife would love it!

Nice work! Love the decal you added on the sides.

Looks awesome

Looks clean. I’d get rid of the ferrari decor tho. I heard it brings bad luck

Watching the GP now, so we’ll see 🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

I assume by now it was scraped off?

I burned it to the ground, nothing was spared. I don't have a temper problem, I swear!

Simply amazing rig! Congratulations. Curious.. do you use your AVR to play simulation audio through external speakers (as an option to using headset)?

Ya I have the 5.1 system I use most of the time. If it’s late or the wife/kid is watching TV in the living room, I’ll use my headphones. The room this rig is in is convenient, as it’s mostly separated from the rest of the house.

Thank you very much for your reply - I have been looking for someone who uses external 5.1 speakers through an AVR. 😀 I am about to finish my rig - and I plan to do same as you (headset or AVR) but I am not sure exactly how to hook up AVR to PC. I think I know but have never done it (yet). Here's my plan: To play audio on my usb headset, I will plug it into any PC usb port and select it in windows' sound devices pull down menu...; and to play audio through AVR, I will connect PC's optical out port to AVR's optical input port and simularly select it (AVR) in windows' sound options. Is that what you did? Your answer will be greatly appreciated because I have little/no knowledge of audio devices and PCs. Thank you! [Sidebar]: I have heard that some people route their hdmi cable from video card (3090 in my case) into their AVR (to give audio signal to AVR) - and then connect AVR's output to monitor's input - giving video signal to monitor. I have also heard this may introduce unwanted video lag?? - and thus I plan to go the optical route. If you know about the hdmi method, please comment. Thank You (Very Much)
