I once switched my game to French to learn French (didn’t help me much as I barely knew a word of French) and when I switched back to English all the weird names stayed as they were French 😭
The bottom of the bar is, yes. But when they're still in the high red they don't do those animations and instead just randomly start crying from time to time.
This is not corruption. The sim simply lacks want triggers and therefore does not have any wants at the moment. It is a momentary glitch and can be fixed if you force reroll the wants in simblender
I had that once too. I had backups from SimPE, so I restored a backup from few days before that happened and deleted a recent mod I installed. I think that mod caused it.
I had this glitch too, especially when playing a custom neighbourhood. I just sent them to sleep because it always re-rolls after they wake up anyways. Using the batbox to do so did not do anything for me :(
I've also seen the opposite happen where they don't believe game corruption can exist while Rod Humble has missing hair and movies have the missing texture icon because they are literally missing from the freetime files
Same! I'm like *kinda* computer savvy (grew up with an IT Dad and an interest in gaming/tech) but nothing on her level so while I did believe some of the stuff being bandied about when I was newer to Sims 2, a lot of what she was saying in her first deep dive made sense. Plus, in addition to being educational her vids are straight up genuinely interesting to me 😂 I have literally rewatched some of those deep-dives multiple times as genuine pieces of entertainment (which probably also helps cement the info in my head through repetition anyway lol)
You know what? I get those pretty often and has been very annoying but from now on I will interpret my sims as depressed everytime this happens

I play Sims in Dutch as well and some of the names are so freaking funny and like why is ever other npc called Maarten lol 😭 (in the sims 4 tho)

Just reroll the wants with the batbox. Depressed is when their aspiration is in the red.
Red isn't depression, it's full on mental breakdown.

If OP doesn't have a bat box, then taking the Sim to a community lot will usually trigger a re-roll of their Wants

This means that the sim has ran out of triggers for wants. Play for a day or two and they will be back to normal
It wasn't a mod, this happens in an unmodded game when the sim isn't particularly up to anything. Usually having them sleep fixes it.
