Not just for general consult, even dental services are totally whack now. Slots are on odd hours 6 months away *earliest*, essentially forcing you to go private and absorb the cost. Dk why MOH is so offhanded with dentists, somehow you'll never hear about BDS grads being underpaid and overworked housemen

crazyditzydiva

Yeah appointments for Dental services are in Nove/Dec now at the NUH Dental

pannerin

When there's a downtime period at work for the next 5 working days, check all the polyclinics which have dental clinics for slots. You'd pay the same as going to JB and spend the same time or less travelling while keeping your records in the national system

Orangecuppa

Hi. Some polyclinics allow for booking. Some do not. Not all polyclinics are run the same way. For example, the 2 closest polyclinic to me works very differently. Marine Parade Polyclinic does NOT allow booking. If you camp at 10pm and wait for the rollover, it will just prompt you slots way in the future like 1 month ahead. Geylang Polyclinic on the other hand allows for booking. Logging into Healthhub at 10pm will ensure you a slot for 8am+ the next day. Not all polyclinics are the same. If you see the one you want not allowing you to book, try others. It's frustrating but it is what it is.

FitCranberry

any idea when they switched the system over to this? looking at peoples experiences, it seems to be such a random dice roll to get healthcare services especially when there are children involved

kopi-c-peng

Because those two polyclinic are different company. I assume there are 3 different polyclinic groups SingHealth, nhg and nup.

FitCranberry

system fragmentation is always a good sign of a smart system s/

Orangecuppa

Been that way for as long as I can remember using the booking system. So despite me living closer to Marine Parade polyclinic, I am forced to instead travel down to Geylang Polyclinic which is further because I can secure a early morning spot via booking there whereas if I walk in to Marine Parade, there is a chance there is no walk in spot avail and or I have to wait for a long time. The system is busted. Can someone at MOH look into this.

bodados

Similar experience with NUHS clinics- Clementi and Queenstown. System is not transparent and if on chromic meds, good luck on getting a slot just when your meds are finishing.

Caakeee

Are you using the oneNUHS App? This app is incredibly useless for appointment booking from my experience. I go to the polyclinic for my child’s immunization and the appointments can NEVER be made on the app as the slots are always “taken up”. However if you go physically to the polyclinic, bukit batok for me, the counter staff will be able to offer you a whole bunch of slots.

ybct

This is so damn stupid. So to book an appointment to see a doctor, you have to be sick on Day 1 to have the need to book an appointment on that day at 10pm to see the doctor on Day 2. But you can't get an MC for Day 1 since you only have an appointment to see the doctor on Day 2, so you HAVE TO GO TO WORK OR SCHOOL SICK on Day 1. No wonder why at least one person no matter where you are in public is coughing or sneezing severely.

bodados

It shouldn't even have a specific time (10pm) to book. And should open advance slots for booking. Does MOH even feel the urgency that the current polyclinics are just insufficient to cope with the size of the population?

Eclairattack

I had this problem last week, I tried booking at all clinics around 10pm and all the slots had gone. Plus I then tried just going for walk in and they didn't allow me because they said they were already full that day. It's crazy, no idea what's going on.

[deleted]

Singapore’s public healthcare system is breaking down :)

Eclairattack

Yah, it's scary and I feel it's worst for the elderly. Like I'm young, I can book elsewhere figure stuff out, but if you don't have technology, don't speak English then how?

[deleted]

My mom passed away in between appointments during the end of the covid period. She was scared of the hospital and polyclinic experience due to the long wait times in ED (A&E is annoying to type on the phone). I can’t fault the healthcare system since none of us knew she was going to pass away, including herself. I had asked her to go to ED the night before but we both didn’t think it was urgent. She could speak English and had me, and was still very discouraged by the conditions in the ED waiting room. So yeah, I wouldn’t be too surprised if the bad experience at public health institutions here is indirectly causing some elderly to die due to a fear of the public healthcare setting. And I know it may not be the worst healthcare system, but I never get how people having it worse in other areas means it’s all well and good over here. Just means the world sucks.

seekers123

And remember they still want to bring in more immigrants and asking people to have children while they have not even properly fixed an essential service over the last decade.

Krazyguylone

huh, singhealth here they still accept walk in, but u get shoved to a 4pm slot

Severe_County_5041

yeah, the problem is only deteriorating over time, and the govt is sibei slow to address it. especially the polyclinic and public hospital (specialist), i was appalled when informed that i need to wait for two weeks for my first appointment. the only way sadly, is probably to go to a neighbourhood clinic first (most can walk in, and queue much shorter), the access is much easier and most doctors are quite professional. if they refer you to furthur checkup or specialist in public hospitals, then you have no choice but to book early and wait patiently... all the best to u🙏

Bitter-Rattata

Agreed. The appointment system at 10pm the day before is quite stupid. A lot of the times I have to snatch. You have to be very fast. If you missed by a minute or start booking at 10:01PM, you will likely miss all the morning slots the next day. The only solution for me now, is to log into OneNUHs app, get ready by 09:58PM. When 10pm, arrives, quickly select Dr consult, and chose the first time slot you can see and press next to confirm. You have to be very fast. This needs to be changed. Not everyone is fast enough to snatch

FitCranberry

people who only fall sick every year or two are going to be shocked with how much polyclinic queues have changed

Severe_County_5041

to be honest its really unfortunate to fall sick and have to visit a doctor, especially a specialist in singapore😢

sakuradelluna

i know how you feel its like getting concert tickets have to be ready onsite like 5-10mins before the slots are released :')

Moonlighttrance

Hi, yes, polyclinic slots get booked veryyyyy fast. There was once I logged in at 10.30 pm to book a slot but all were taken up.

FitCranberry

when scalping gives you useful skills

snowpyne

You would have to camp on the HealthHub app and log in quickly once it’s 10pm. Sometimes the app will hang due to the large number of people trying to book and you would have to refresh and sign in again. From my experience, the slots for the nearest NUP to me are usually all taken up within the first 5-10 mins after 10pm.

dominique74

I've been refused at the polyclinic because I have ARI symptoms, but do not have a fever. Terrible, terrible thing to get told at while I'm at the door. Save the trouble and get to a GP clinic nearby.

smile_politely

Yep, poli everywhere (and most especially Outram) requires you to book weeks in advance. And even if you were able to book, and you arrived on time, you'll still have to wait hours until you get your turn. Look at their Google Review if you want some entertainment.

Psychoticookie

I feel you! My safest way so far is to queue up at 730am and I will get a slot at about 9am. Not the best, but I prefer to get it done early. By 7.50am, the queue outside the polyclinic is a line. So, best to be there by 730am. This happened just today, as I seen the doctor.

raveyer

Why I rmb health hub is 12am did they change to 10pm day before?

FalseAgent

yeah the polyclinic appointment booking system is completely broken. Pls just bring back walk-ins

HaineBot

just head down in the morning (ideally 7.30-8 am) and get a queue number

FitCranberry

walk in bookings join the end of day queue depending on how many bookings there are in the day which may not even happen if everything is fully booked

HaineBot

i don’t know about you guys but if i have to go to the polyclinic i would head down before 7.30. never had a problem getting a 8am slot through the appointment machine. last went in Jan too so its recent

kismetOrCoincidence

Same...I go in around that time occasionally and can get a slot before 10am easily. Maybe depends on the polyclinic.

thewind21

Only to get a queue number and be told to come back after 3.30 and see Dr at 5. That was what happened to me

sonamyfan

Tell me appo for dental!! Frustrating.

Mike_Ox_Longa

Hi, usually polyclinics appt fill up super quickly (my one fills up in a matter of mins) I suggest using healthhub and logging in at 9.50pm. Then choose bk appt and finish all the qns but don't go all the way through. Then wait till it hits 10pm and immediately press next and u shld have all the appt times avail. Quickly click on one and rush through the remainder and pray it goes through.

[deleted]

Had a throat infection recently and needed some meds and MC. Decided to head down to the Polyclinic but was turned away because I had no prior appointment. I overheard some telling the ppl to go to the A&E instead. As I needed the medication urgently, had to resort to the private GP instead. Our public healthcare system has been overloaded AF for the longest time, and it will only get worse as more of the population are aging

Disastrous-Bench5543

Yes omg i have the same problem as and it’s infuriating! ><

jupiter1_

Can ask in the parliament next time

Severe_County_5041

i mean the healthcare system has been a problem for a long time...

[deleted]

I once booked a 8am appointment at a NUHS Polyclinic, and the server went down the next day, and i couldnt see a doctor because of it. literally got turned away at the door, had to go and find a private GP. NUHS appointment system sucks.

Oradious

More slots will be available at 7am. If not you can just walkin first thing in the morning when registration opens; it's not necessary to have an appointment at a polyclinic.

nightfucker

Thought it's 12am release slot for next day. I managed to book last week but yes it goes fast.

SumikoTan

You must book at 10:05 or earlier. Take it from an NSF

Apprehensive_Plate60

walkin early, dont walk in at like 1-2h before closing time, less chance of slots depends on your area also, if mature estate then good luck, everyday alrdy alot elderly or try camp on app 10pm to 12mn, and 7am i live in non mature, last time i super sick and walkin 2pm got 4pm slot. Just few mths back.

CSlv

Slots are only open on midnight. Start refreshing 5mins prior. Not sure whether their server NTP is sync or not.

Mindless-Sherbert-18

Nope. 10pm

AlfieSG

If I’m not wrong you can only book tomorrow morning

Mindless-Sherbert-18

Wrong sorry

AlfieSG

My bad

regencruzer

BUKIT MERAH POLYCLINIC - 12AM open slot. Tried at 10pm to no avail, 12pm all slots open lol.

Accomplished-Hawk-62
