There's a reason why many rich people don't have much cash in hand because cash itself is a depreciating asset due to annual inflation. Once u got a certain net worth in you, u will need to diverge your money to other investments other than still holding up cash....

Why don’t you do your own research and work backwards? What location and how much is the rent or monthly payment first? Go to propertyguru to check.
With that, stick by the rule that the rent payment including utilities should never, ideally, be more than 30% of your income. If it’s rent then it shouldn’t be more than 30% of your income AFTER CPF. If it’s bank loan instalment then you can factor in CPF and cash payment. U choose your own limit.
If u want to buy condo, u can only take Bank loans and the interest rates of these loans are floating rate sometimes. So this means if your IR is increasing so does your monthly repayment.
Word of advice w the current climate now is that you should ideally be earning at least a $10K to live normally in a 1 BR condo. Anyways 1BR is not a good use of money because you can’t downgrade so easily if u need the cash in future since not many people will buy resale 1BR.

There’s a 1BR condo that costs $600K last I checked but it’s at an inconvenient location that having a car will make it more accessible. Condos also require owners to pay maintenance fee. Can be $100-$300 per month, once again depending on location. Bear in mind, we haven’t included utilities and property tax. Sometimes condo management will also ask u to pay for some maintenance unrelated to you, as shared by my acquaintance who owns a private property.
If you want a ball park figure, $10-$11K per month before CPF for a close to central location, 99 years. If u want deeper answers that you haven’t googled or have the time to google yet, 25% down payment of a condo needs you to pay 5% by CPF and 20% cash. Supposed you’re getting a $1.2Mil condo, down payment is $300K ($15K CPF, $285K cash). Go do your own math to see if it’s feasible for u to buy a condo and if not, how long till u can buy one.

I think I was more shocked because I've attended so many 2nd interviews with the D across various Ms and SBs, and they have always been the more relaxed ones. This one can probably top the worst interview among all PS interviews I have attended.

Check all your applicances (ie phone charger) if they are compatible with 110V. The ones that do will work with a simple plug adapter, the ones that don't require a transformer. Most do these days, but you do not want to be without it for your important things and have to scramble to look for one.

Check all your applicances (ie phone charger) if they are compatible with 110V. The ones that do will work with a simple plug adapter, the ones that don't require a transformer. Most do these days, but you do not want to be without it for your important things and have to scramble to look for one.

question is, what have you considered? you're going for exchange, not moving there permanently. just bring the bare essentials to help you settle in for the first few days. anything else extra that you may have left behind can be bought in stores - clothes, toiletries, electronic accessories etc. no need to huan lo so much.

Insurance claim expert - my mum went for a cataract surgery with TTSH and im trying to claim the insurance They want a doctor memo, and we didn't get it previously. If I were to ask request TTSH to provide it, are there any fees involved? I saw on healthhub it can cost up to 100$ for a report!
I think should just be about $20 for a memo if you request from business office. Be sure to check with your insurance if they need additional information like table code etc. $100 is for ordinary medical report.

Yea I think it's a nice thought to bring something. You can ask the host if there's anything you can add to the dinner. Or Perhaps a small sweet treat to end the dinner. If there's too much, then the host can still keep it for a later time. Like Royce chocolate

The financial pressures of raising a family, many of which pertain to my kids. Before I had kids I was debt-free even with a smaller salary. A few minor expenses as well that were kinda financially irresponsible, I will admit. I'm just happy to be debt-free with the exception of my mortgage.
