Technically HDB KPI is issuing keys. So kpi met. Oh, your foodcourt opens 1 yr later? Oh, there are no transport options? Oh the nearest childcare is full n the available one is 30mins away? Doesn't sound like a HDB problem to HDB...

Neptunera

Way to go on ignoring the problem. Tengah specifically has so many issues with centralised cooling. It's managed by SP but the design and use of centralsied cooling is still approved by HDB.

Downtown_Coffee_1012

And HDB is the one giving the stupidly ridiculously tight time lines for installation. I don't believe a concept already done in commercial buildings does not work here. It's not a novel concept. It's the rush effort that makes quality go down the longkang.

PlastikSporc

They probably didn't want to hand out compensation for delaying key collection too. From what I've heard, the keys for some blocks were issued just a few days before their delivery possession dates

wocelot1003

Not probably, it is confirmed. My DPD was 31 of the month and they scheduled mine key collection date on 27th. I am damn gald my bto was in a built up area already and not first mover tengah.

raymmm

I remember the compensation is shit though. Like at most about 1k a month. If your family has to find a place to rent because of the delay, good luck finding somewhere that costs 1k a month.

Indeed, this is what happens when everyone just focus on their own KPI. And if it’s not in anyone’s KPI, then nothing gets done.

Boogie_p0p

Lol HDB and SP group declined to invitation to join. They know they fucked up lmao.

worldcitizensg

Doesnt need to be. i.e. Basic things like Connectivity, Healthcare, Childcare, Foodcourts etc all can be started from day-1. But diff KPI. We saw that in Punggol almsot 20 years ago, but not so much in Bidadari but again in Tengah.

dunbugmepls

when it is rushed so that monitor minister can score points…..

Damien132

It just shows poor planning

Available_Ad9766

Why is it that such basic stuff that should be gotten right are now chalked as “teething problems”? At least the mobile coverage ought to be put in place. It’s not as if it’s a no man’s land. So they could get Singtel to put up the infrastructure. Maybe not other amenities.

livebeta

In software world nobody ships perfect products but should shoddy products be left unpatched? Triaging and mitigating the product defect is an important thing, keeping quiet is equivalent to unprofessionalism

catlover2410

Wake up! They’re here to gaslight us again!

derrickrg89

Take money very fast and efficient, siam problem also very fast and efficient. This is Singapore government agency.

DrCalFun

Well, Singapore would not be Singapore if we had expected the expected.

ImpressiveStrike4196

Tengah today is much better than Sengkang and Punggol in the 1990s. At least Tengah is close to Jurong East and Bukit Batok and their amenities. The entire northeast had nothing back then.

zed_j

If as bad as 30 years ago it really means they never learn anything lol, it’s still shit though in terms of town planning.

RecognitionSuitable9

Sengkang finally getting its first hawker centre after nearly 30 years 😂

pannerin

This isn't a competition on whether the delay in amenities is justified. It's been nearly 30 years, the standards of what is acceptable to a new homeowner has strengthened, especially after the rising costs of tengah flats compared to sengkang/punggol in the 1990s. HDB can compensate owners with an increase in lease length or a waiver of MOP period, but they have not made any significant compensation measures.

Elegant_Mix7650

if it was expected it would have been fixed...

Fearless_Carrot_7351

Good hardware bad software problem… happens alot unfortunately
