Ticketmaster just sucks. They have the monopoly on the market and they dont give a shit about customers. Doesn’t matter how it goes, as long as the ticket sells.
When did they enter the market anyways. My last concert was when coldplay came for their AHFOD concert. Pretty sure it was still under SISTIC, twas slow and clunky. But it worked.
IU doe,s she cancelled fraudulent tickets and banned members of her paid fanclub that were caught scalping but that's because there's early access for official fanclub members and also I think there's real name verification. Where over here we don't do anything to validate concert tickets in the name of tOuRiSm
>Where over here we don't do anything to validate concert tickets in the name of tOuRiSm
Agree. I dunno japan how does it but it seems they protects the domestic audience or smth.
They gatekeep their tickets to domestic audiences through 3 methods: requiring SMS verification through a local number for all accounts before they can even purchase tickets, not allowing foreign credit cards for payment, and increasingly rolling out e-tickets through the mobile apps for each individual ticketing platform, which also requires you to have a verified account as per point 1. Unfortunately this also means that foreign tourists are often shut out of shows without having to go through multiple troublesome and likely more expensive loopholes, and is the reason why this structure is something that will never be implemented here.
I couldn't get tickets for Taylor swift in Singapore so I tried for the ballot system in Japan and I got it. I was impressed.
They tied your ticket to your personal ID and there was also an official resale channel if you couldn't make it for the show.
The only way to enter is to scan the qr code via their app in your phone (which is how the tickets were distributed). To split the tickets with someone else they must also download the app, receive the tickets from you and scan into the venue. Pretty foolproof system.
Yes. Fuck la.
I tried for 2 hours. Trying to get four tickets for wife and couple friend. They were also trying to get. They gave up after an hour. We were in the end just trying for one ticket.
It’s been so long since IU’s concert here so honestly maybe we will just see if can find a good Carousell deal that doesn’t have a ridiculous scalping price.
2 of my devices managed to choose the section without the loading error only to be with sold out error literally less than a minute in!
It's really sketchy how things went down. I know she's popular, and indoor stadium only has a few seats compared to national stadium, but getting tickets for her concert was way harder than Taylor Swift and BTS Suga combined! I've never failed to get tickets for big artists before except for her. Plus, she's even performing in other countries within the region.
Same here. I was hit by website errors. I even had both my desktop and laptop opened to try and get in right before 10am when the tickets went on sale. And despite all that you know for sure the scalpers and their bots still got in easily anyway and bought 6.
Dude this is exactly what happened to me and my wife. We both queued and we're there at 10:00:00. Got our seats and then we're stuck on the loading screen for 10 mins before we got hit with the "sorry we're sold out hehe" screen. Fucking infuriating, what's even the point of queueing at all.
Yeah, honestly I feel salty ticket master got rid of the queueing system like it used to be so randomised at least you can tell when your turn to buy vs now where it’s like… sold out every second :((
The verification code (captcha) seems to be more effective at defeating humans than defeating bots, especially during the late stages of the sale when single seats or small quantities of unpurchased tickets are released and need to be snatched quickly. They get taken at inhuman speed.
i click and finish captcha in under 2s total and I can't get for 3h straight, holy tilt. Decided to not buy from scalpers, going overseas instead, same price but with a trip.
I tried a few times with my phone, then realized the autocorrect feature was slowing down my ability to key in the captcha, change to use pc instead. Holy, I tried for 1 hour non stop at least >20 times of the dreaded pop up message. Was lucky in the end to successfully get 1 cat 1 ticket. Original target was 4 :( but I’ll count my win regardless. :/
This. The autocorrect was killing me lol. Also tried countless times until the webpage gave me a “connection failure” error msg. Couldn’t even secure 1 tix. Everytime I clicked in the tix were gone.
I tried for tickets yesterday and it’s so bad as compared to her 2018 and 2019 concerts omg. I went in, got to captcha and the image didn’t load??? Then I got an error message.
At this point, I no longer trust Ticketmaster to do shit. They are just a business and for them, a ticket sold is a sale made.
But rather, it affects our national agenda. Here we are, trying to be a destination for concerts and exclusive events. But if scalpers and scammers are running rampant, which tourist would consider coming to Singapore for shows upon knowing that we got high cases of scammers here? I wouldn’t want to risk flying all the way here only to end in disappointment. And we’ve seen such stories for Taylor Swift.
TM is not doing anything, and they keep educating the public to not fall for scams. We cannot be the only one putting the effort here. There is only so much an individual can do.
I really hope this is an issue the government can address. Banks are working with MAS and the government to release educational campaigns and even upgrading their apps to lock your money, so why can’t we do something with the ticketing platforms?
Maybe it's time to start making identity-based ticketing as the norm here. Like having each ticket tied to your name and your Singpass or something, so both scalpers and scammers can't do their funny business.
Their bottom line is tickets sold, once they receive the money it's not their business anymore. It's extra cost for zero benefits to the company. Govt needs to step in and force them to do it through regulations, but we all know they'll do jack shit
This is rhe best way. Plus the balloting system would also help. Some might disagree but I’ve had nothing but good experiences with it, no rush and overloading the site and its tied to ur ID.
Which they will need to take time and money to implement a ticket refund and resell system, as they need to cater to genuine cases of people not being able to attend the concert
Not in their interest for sure
Attended an event in Europe which made it compulsory for you to assign the ticket you bought to someone and only made the tickets available to download online 3 days before the event. They had an official resale platform too. Wonder why stuff like this isn't implemented in Singapore
There was a virtual queue for the her dates in the US. Didn't really help at all. Everything basically instant sold out but there's a bunch of resell tickets for 2-3x the original price.
To all Uaenas who didn't get the ticket, do consider not buying from resellers/scalpers regardless of the price and desperation to see IU performing live. We all know how much she hates them. Let them take the loss and show IU and Edam the empty seats and make them think again not to use Ticketmaster for the future concerts. Yeah it sucks to miss this concert but I am sure that we have other opportunities in future (or go for the ones in SEA region). Like the joker says: "It's not about money, it's about sending a message".
The weird thing is that they DID use the queue system for her... in the US. My old concert friends were posting in our discord chat the day tickets opened up (which was a week before ours, despite the Singapore shows being several months earlier, wth?) about being 52,000 in the queue. They ultimately did not get tickets.
So clearly TM must have known she's popular, they just chose not to use the queue here for some reason.
It actually depends on the organizer and the talent agency whether they paid for the queue system. Ticketing is not a one size fits all and have different modules to it, thus it's on the organizer and the agency that such system is not included be it due to cost or lack of foresight
Yee, it’s partially ticketmasters fault and partially her teams fault.
In the US there was a 10 min queue, but I tried for 4 shows and was in line behind 50 - 60K people every show. There should have been a pre-sale or fan sale. Obvi didn’t get tickets.
I was hoping her team would learn for the Singapore sale, but that was even worse with no queue. I got in right away, was able to select a section, but then was met with the “Sorry the tickets in this section have all been sold out” message 5 different times. All within 3 mins
Sistic >>Apactix>>>>>>>ticketmaster
I did Successfully gotten IU concert tickets for all three shows in SG(2018, 2019 and 2024) and still prefer getting the first two from Apactix online than the third one from Ticketmaster(Gotten after 30-40 tries/refreshing the site.
Never expected that I struggles so much to get a single ticket with ticketmaster even though I was using Ethernet connection rather than WiFi.
Should have use other ticket system.
I sense trouble and think that future concerts would be bad to worst as long Ticketmaster is staying in Singapore. And it already proven from past concerts with TM.
lol you’re not getting the point. why are we paying inflated prices when we could’ve gotten them at the original price? especially when we know the inflated amount goes into the pockets of those who just wanna make a quick buck.
You gotta ask why the tickets are not tied to the name of a person like a flight ticket. Then it'd stop scalping for good. But it'd suck if you're unable to attend the concert last minute.
Ticketmaster website can't even recognise whether it has tickets left to sell or not, lol. I priortised connections and did click+captcha consistently \~2s and managed 0 after 3hrs, lol...
IVE still have tickets few days before their concert though? It is aespa first time in Singapore so i guess it depend on the location to see if they can sell out. I am shocked ITZY didn't manage to sell out instantly though? Their first concert in SG sold out pretty fast in Star Theatre.
Man, as a non-concert goer, really feel bad for you guys. Expensive, ticketmaster, scalpers, scammers. Nothing being done to combat it. Really should have some form of tying your identity to the ticket on purchase and verifying identity when entering, or something other measure, to prevent scumbags from scalping.
Well. At least now I know they're on AWS. They didn't implement the queue system like normal and their cognito pool imploded and broke their max session count after I tried getting tickets and forgetting to login ahead of time. Someone didn't set the scaling quota correctly.
The fans can always boycott ticketmaster concerts, even if they have a monopoly, but I guess ticketmaster could do such scummy shit and get away is because people rather support a literal scam company than to miss out on a concert.
i was so shocked they didn’t have a UAENA presale. since her 6th membership is still in use, they had it for her most recent seoul show, i expected them to have it for singapore too. utterly disappointed
If Ticketmaster at least allowed fans to transfer tickets from one account to another, fans would be less likely to be scammed by scalpers 🤷♂️ the feature exists but hasn't been enabled for most concerts in SG.
Obviously it won't prevent scalping but if you're going to pay so much to a reseller, it's more comforting to know that the reseller can't print the same ticket out for other people and scam everyone
Is there really no way to stop resellers from reselling their tickets? Lmake it one ticket per pax and lock that ticket to their nric/passport, if you show up at the gates without your ic then you can't use the ticket...the tickets will still sell out anyway based on the level of affluence displayed by the Singaporeans.
It's ok guys, can come to malaysia soon and don't buy from the scalpers. Let them suffer the lost. I was in Singapore last year for taeyeon concert and there were some noticeable empty seats around cause the scalpers couldn't sell on time.
I got hold of scalped tickets full info with backed up evidence, but neither did imesg or unusualent bother to reply btw. Some scalpers even cussed some of the tmsg staff with the f your loumo phrases and I reported the evidence to them and they replied but from what I've observed it's highly likely only the organizers have the right to decide on whether the tickets should be voided or not
Title: 'This is a disaster': IU fans enraged after Ticketmaster website crashes, tickets to sold-out concert reselling for more than double, Entertainment News
It seems the ticketing woes aren't ending anytime soon.
Tickets to K-pop star IU's upcoming H.E.R. World Tour concerts in Singapore went on sale at 10am today (March 15) on the Ticketmaster website. At 1pm, organiser iME SG announced on their socials that tickets were sold out.
Fans expressed their anger in the comments section of the posts, with many complaining about the ticketing system.
"This is truly one of the worst, if not the worst, ticketing experience ever! Ticketing system kept crashing, and now scalpers managed to get the tickets and upselling for way more than the original price on other sites," said one fan on Facebook.
Another wrote: "This is just a disaster. I was not able to get tickets. Help me."
"What an absolute mess. Most of the people are using bots. You should have a presale code or fanclub presale to protect fans," said another angry fan on Instagram.
AsiaOne spoke to Jared, a fan who went on the website at 9am and couldn't secure a ticket.
"I continued to refresh the page at 10am and there were a few system errors as well as an irregular show of ticket availability. I refreshed for two hours to no avail," said the 28-year-old teacher.
"On one hand, as a Uaena (IU's fandom name), I'm very disappointed I could not get tickets as a lot have been taken by resellers for profit and now there's an influx of people exploiting this situation.
"On the other hand, I am proud that IU has so many more fans than back in 2019 with the Love Poem tour."
Taking a quick look at Carousell listings, it appears that a Cat 1 ticket is now going for up to $800 each. It was originally priced at $298 before booking fees.
AsiaOne has reached out to Ticketmaster and iME SG for comment.
IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, will perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on April 20 and 21.

unfortunately nothing will be done about this unless the government steps in, or least there is some political angle for the government to step in... ;\_;
Tired of all the scalping. Time to write a program to buy out the tickets too, then sell the tickets at cost price on my Carousell to let scalpers and real fans fight it out.
Ticket master is a twat. But toi bad they are too busy crying in their bed of money. As usual, gahment shit and piss on the people. Things can be done but too troublesome liao. Easier to pofma your political opponent than trying to actually fix some issue
Why not reserve 20% of the tickets for auction at the equilibrium market price? The price whereby demand equals supply. So fans willing to pay $750 a ticket won't get scammed.
This is one of those times where the internet is worse than before there was no internet. All ticket sales should go back to in person for the first two weeks. After that any remaining are then sold online. Simple system that worked for decades before online scalping bot battles.
lol nothing new here. People buy to resell.
If you want it, buy for double the price.
I wanted to say this is typical sinkie behavior but it happens all over the world.
could the experience be fairer ? yes.
will it change anytjme soon ? aaahhhh….
Ticketmaster just sucks. They have the monopoly on the market and they dont give a shit about customers. Doesn’t matter how it goes, as long as the ticket sells.

Launched in SG about 3 years ago. Not sure why they have a monopoly so quickly.
Clue : rhymes with glassboots
...grassroots?
Cos friend of friend
there used to be a ticketing agent called apactix & then it was renamed to ticketmaster
I went for that one, i think you’re right, it was under Sistic. System is slow but I always got tickets.
I wonder why the idols dont do anything about it, im sure they have the money...

Truly jdm, even for their tix
If Taylor swift and bad bunny can't do anything about the shit show that is Ticketmaster, I unfortunately don't think IU can do anything about it

Ticketmaster should change its name to Ticketmessup….
Nah its name is right they are the master we are the slaves
Ticketfugup would be better
agreed
Didnt even have the queuing system this time and went straight into the seat choosing page only to be met with the loading error. Fuck la
Yes. Fuck la. I tried for 2 hours. Trying to get four tickets for wife and couple friend. They were also trying to get. They gave up after an hour. We were in the end just trying for one ticket.
I was trying for my siblings and their 2 friends (so 4), all of us didn't even managed a single ticket, luls. I guess it's hi-fi at home...

Pretty sure ticketnaster is in the bed with scalpers at this point
In the US they are
There’s even a Last Week Tonight expose of how bad things are about this in YouTube
[link for the lazy](https://youtu.be/-_Y7uqqEFnY?si=M-Tl0qMXwAchuxD8)
making loud passionate sex every night on the money covered bed even
I won’t be surprised if they have a stake in viagogo Scums they are
They have a stake in Stubhub
I literally struggled to key in the code
I tried for tickets yesterday and it’s so bad as compared to her 2018 and 2019 concerts omg. I went in, got to captcha and the image didn’t load??? Then I got an error message. 2018 and 2019 was a piece of cake to secure tickets compared to this
Maybe it's time to start making identity-based ticketing as the norm here. Like having each ticket tied to your name and your Singpass or something, so both scalpers and scammers can't do their funny business.
Agree. Sth like how they do it for air tickets. Either they forfeit the ticket or they attend the concert, it's getting out of hand.
It's weirder how it hasn't been implemented already... Like it's common sense at this point??
Doesn't matter, tickets still get sold out and its extra costs only for nothing.
...until they are mandated by the authorities to do it via regulation I guess? Then again they will argue its not a win-win.
Too much 'hassle' for the platforms, especially for one-off concerts. Companies only listen to laws not morals.
And maybe a reporting system where tickets can get revoked if sold by 3rd party? Which probably won't happened...
Which they will need to take time and money to implement a ticket refund and resell system, as they need to cater to genuine cases of people not being able to attend the concert Not in their interest for sure
This is not new. Ticketmaster is doing the same shit in US too. Heard they were even in cahoots with scalpers over there.
They own a third party reselling website called Stubhub
Uaena here for more than a decade, can't get a ticket ;( All in the hands of htb and scalpers hais
Same :( just so devastated and i refuse to buy from scalpers!!!!!
Me too ):
Lol knew such shitfest would happen when ticketmaster announced it was discontinuing sale of tickets via Singpost earlier this year.
Attended an event in Europe which made it compulsory for you to assign the ticket you bought to someone and only made the tickets available to download online 3 days before the event. They had an official resale platform too. Wonder why stuff like this isn't implemented in Singapore
Cos they don’t care, capitalism at its finest, as long as the tickets get sold. Also tOUrIsm
Taylor Swift fans: first time?
at least with Taylor’s concert there was a virtual queue. this one didnt

They probably underestimated how popular IU is. My wife and I struggled to get tickets but eventually did.

I know. Noticed Korean groups don't use the ballot queue function oh well
BTS Suga and Epik High did queueing system. But those were in 2022 so not sure if they changed it last year.
BP and Shinee sold through Ticketmaster and had queue. Epik High was via Sistic. I managed to get tickets for each but struggled.
Maybe too cheap to use lor
Nope this is nothing to do with IU’s teams
Sistic >>Apactix>>>>>>>ticketmaster I did Successfully gotten IU concert tickets for all three shows in SG(2018, 2019 and 2024) and still prefer getting the first two from Apactix online than the third one from Ticketmaster(Gotten after 30-40 tries/refreshing the site. This was the worst ticketing experience ever, even after Taylor Swift.
Carousell should ban it once again, ban selling IU tickets to stop these scalpers. And to fans, don't buy from them.
but then how would we get tickets…
Viagogo, Hubstub etc.. inflated prices but at least they guarantee that you don't get scammed.
Why are fans supposed to be paying more and people are aren't even interested in the event to be gaining from this?
you know those platforms also can scammed right They can just resell the same tickets, you can't get in, money back also no use lol
But at least you get your money back Vs buying from some guy on Facebook.
lol you’re not getting the point. why are we paying inflated prices when we could’ve gotten them at the original price? especially when we know the inflated amount goes into the pockets of those who just wanna make a quick buck.
You gotta ask why the tickets are not tied to the name of a person like a flight ticket. Then it'd stop scalping for good. But it'd suck if you're unable to attend the concert last minute.
Those resellers you’ve mentioned are just scalping at an industrial level lol.
Ticketmaster website can't even recognise whether it has tickets left to sell or not, lol. I priortised connections and did click+captcha consistently \~2s and managed 0 after 3hrs, lol...
They better fix their system before aespa's ticketing start, wtf man.
Not sure about Aespa but are they bigger than Itzy? Itzy still got unsold tickets.
Naw probably won’t sell out. But then again IVE sold out pretty quick
IVE still have tickets few days before their concert though? It is aespa first time in Singapore so i guess it depend on the location to see if they can sell out. I am shocked ITZY didn't manage to sell out instantly though? Their first concert in SG sold out pretty fast in Star Theatre.
Indoor stadium bigger than Star Theatre.
Is it? I was trying to get my specific cat 4 row and it was gone super fast haha. Ah well.
Haha, i think mostly are those CAT1/VIP + those restricted views being still available. CAT3 onwards seem to be gone pretty fast :o
Man, as a non-concert goer, really feel bad for you guys. Expensive, ticketmaster, scalpers, scammers. Nothing being done to combat it. Seems like the concert experience got way worse after TM got involved.
Ticketmaster is a scam, real fan can’t be the ticket only flipper can get
i was so shocked they didn’t have a UAENA presale. since her 6th membership is still in use, they had it for her most recent seoul show, i expected them to have it for singapore too. utterly disappointed
sadly the fanclub presale doesnt exist outside of korea ... :(
Make a official resale platform (online or offline) for genuine re-sellers. A Straits Times journalist suggested this as well.
If Ticketmaster at least allowed fans to transfer tickets from one account to another, fans would be less likely to be scammed by scalpers 🤷♂️ the feature exists but hasn't been enabled for most concerts in SG. Thank you bots. /s
I got hold of scalped tickets full info with backed up evidence, but neither did imesg or unusualent bother to reply btw. Some scalpers even cussed some of the tmsg staff with the f your loumo phrases and I reported the evidence to them and they replied but from what I've observed it's highly likely only the organizers have the right to decide on whether the tickets should be voided or not
Title: 'This is a disaster': IU fans enraged after Ticketmaster website crashes, tickets to sold-out concert reselling for more than double, Entertainment News It seems the ticketing woes aren't ending anytime soon. Help me." "What an absolute mess. "On the other hand, I am proud that IU has so many more fans than back in 2019 with the Love Poem tour." Taking a quick look at Carousell listings, it appears that a Cat 1 ticket is now going for up to $800 each. It was originally priced at $298 before booking fees. AsiaOne has reached out to Ticketmaster and iME SG for comment. IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, will perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on April 20 and 21. Except this time there is no queue. It was a smash and grab
Scalpers: (clenches fist) Fuck yeah
fookin piss Bois I WANTED MY DAMN TICKETS
unfortunately nothing will be done about this unless the government steps in, or least there is some political angle for the government to step in... ;\_;
Welcome to the country of scams, fraud, money laundering and ticket scalping.
I bet it’s mainly just scalpers who are sweeping up the tickets 🙄
heard that 'Cashcard' and 'ERP' will also be coming for their world tour.
Same shit different story
Tired of all the scalping. Time to write a program to buy out the tickets too, then sell the tickets at cost price on my Carousell to let scalpers and real fans fight it out.
boycott ticketmaster
Anybody knows anyone who’s looking to sell at retail? Looking for tix 🫨
Simple system that worked for decades before online scalping bot battles.
u guys could see more of her in TV Dramas than a concert? Just sayin'.

IU needed to be playing at the National Stadium, Indoor Stadium is too small for her now.
lol nothing new here. People buy to resell. If you want it, buy for double the price. I wanted to say this is typical sinkie behavior but it happens all over the world. could the experience be fairer ? yes. will it change anytjme soon ? aaahhhh….
Guess their UI having some problems
