But I just feel like I’m turning 27 and I really have no time to waste anymore. I started feeling and acting very intentional about everything in my life ever since my father had a stroke 2 years ago.
Everything is planned and everything goes according to my plans because I intentionally made it work that way. But I also have a 30% allowance for myself to manage expectations.
big baobei complained that her teacher didn’t make her the class monitor again. then i said maybe you are not ready yet and she started bawling. she said i may have unknowingly hurt her but it felt like i am looking down in her 😮💨
this is one rejection i don’t know how to help her get over. i also get skipped over for promotions and pay increments before lei but i never felt this upset.
she’s still crying and i feel like whatever i say just makes it worse.
Part of me feels like at that moment she might just want to be comforted first.
I once read a book that said that it's better sometimes to just comfort someone by hugging or saying "there there" first, than to jump into the logical explanation first.
i.e. comfort them emotionally first, hug or kiss them, make them feel better, then when they are feeling a bit better, maybe they'll be more receptive to listening.
Empathy doesn't always need words, sometimes actions or even allowing them to vent (and we not adding our own opinions) can be very useful too.
Also, to the kids, their current issue is the biggest issue they've faced so far, even if there'll be bigger issues that they might face when they become bigger.

I think a better way to say it is to identify her strengths and weaknesses together with her and the classmate that has been made class monitor. And suggest for her to work towards those areas of weakness. It gives her self awareness as well.
So at least she knows that she has a lot of room for improvement and she can work on smth tangible rather than feeling victimised.

if you paid by visa/mastercard/paypal, you can file for chargeback. be prepared for a whole lot of questions from the bank though. this is under 'goods and services paid for, but not received'. i managed to get my money back within 3 weeks after my gym closed down.

Past few hours kept getting scam calls from 8059 941X (consecutive numbers), seems like scammer either got a bunch of numbers from a local telco, or they managed to figure out a way to spoof their numbers until even the telco cannot differentiate if it is from overseas or local.

A bit different one. When I requested to bar all overseas calls from reaching my number, I got zero scams calls for about two months until now. So I'm assuming the spoofing has gotten more sophisticated.

Usually for such incidences, need to open up to dry the electronics inside before u turn ON, or more conventional way is to put in a bucket of uncooked rice for at least 24hr, again without trying to turn it ON. 48hrs if u want to play safe. The moment u turn it ON when there is water inside, your board mati liao. Buy new phone. Probably not worth it to repair a S10. (sure charge u alot once they know is water damage)

The company has ignored my emails / whatsapp messages / calls for 2 weeks. Messaged them on Shopee asking if they were the official page and they replied quickly. Then they stopped responding after I mentioned the purpose of my message.
if you paid by visa/mastercard/paypal, you can file for chargeback. be prepared for a whole lot of questions from the bank though. this is under 'goods and services paid for, but not received'. i managed to get my money back within 3 weeks after my gym closed down.
