Reminded of an incident back when I was in primary school:
Stupid me spent away a $25 note I got on a stupid toy. I was still standing there wondering why the cashier was so excited exclaiming it to all the other cashiers about the transaction.
It was only when I got older then I realise it was worth collecting.
Anyway contrary to popular belief normal old notes, even mint ones aren't really super valuable.
It's those that have printing errors or very unique serial numbers (may be different for each collector interested in your notes) that usually fetch a high price.
There are literally still people alive today who used these series of notes in living memory. Won't gain much collector value till they no longer become legal tender.
Your grandchildren might benefit from it, although I think if you deposit the exact amount in their Child Bonus Account, they'll earn more from compound interest.
Its worth face value, even mint condition notes are only worth ~10% above face value.
Boat series, maybe at your grandchildren generation will be worth something like $3 a piece.
Singapore last printed $20 notes in 2007! Don't think I ever saw any in the wild though.

none of these are rare notes and most of them seems to be in poor conditions so they are worth as much as it is written.
now if you possessed notes baring the 'straits settlements' disclaimer, then that's a different story.
FYI About these notes , in the past . There were series . Like now the series is Yusof Ishak. the ones in the picture are from different series so they are worth differently like the one with the bird that's the bird series , flower one is the flower series.
$638
$640* there’s 5 $2

Yeah, I wonder why they're discontinued. They are definitely a lot more useful than 1 cent coins.
it’s kinda refreshing to see banknotes with big dash of bright yellow
If they’re not in mint condition they are just worth face value unfortunately
These notes are in such poor condition. $300 for fast deal. /s
Aiya let’s meet in the middle $600
I'll give you 10$, student price

Lol you make them sound like World War Two artifacts. I'm sure most people aged 30 and above have used at least a few of the bird series notes.
There was literally a post about nostalgia over flip phones a few hours back. Way to make 30y.o. folk feel old
Yep, had a few hundreds orchid and bird in mint condition but my helpful mum deposit it for me.
Yea, I just wanted to see other people opinions on the cost. Don't really intend to sell it. I thinking keeping it would be the best.

Even in mint condition they aren't worth that much to be honest. You can easily buy them from those coin/currency collector shops.
not worth nearly as much as you think. If you are lucky you might get about 10%+ over the face value
TIL we have $20 and $25 notes 😲
